MAC Unsung Heroes: Big Baby Plushglass

July 23rd, 2012 by Karen 18 Comments

MAC Big Baby Plushglass

I wonder if it might be possible to become physically addicted to a lipgloss.

You never know, right? If this were the X-Files and we were all part of some complex makeup conspiracy involving shell corporations and the alien colonization of earth, I wouldn’t be surprised.

I only bring it up because I think I may actually be addicted to the subject of today’s Unsung Heroes post, MAC Big Baby Plushglass.

The Plushglasses are MAC’s $19.50 line of plumping glosses, and they tingle a little when they touch your lips.

It’s not painful, but I bet you’ll notice. I sure do. It’s a little like kissing pins and needles, or the feeling of spicy food, and like spicy food, which they say can be addictive, maybe that’s why I’m hooked on this sheer peach Plushglass with its pink and white pearl.

Each time I swipe Big Baby on my lips, I’m alive, ALIVE! I get a rush, almost like that time I jumped out of a plane…except without the part where I fell hundreds of feet per second toward the earth.

I start to feel the tingling, which lasts about 10 minutes, a minute or so after applying, and you know what? I think it does make my lips a little plumper (just a hair).

As for the color now? Oh, the color… I LOVE IT! Picture this: a sheerer, and slightly cooler color-toned, MAC Nymphette Lipglass without the golden shimmer, and being a little cooler than Nymphette, I think it works with an even wider range of eye looks, from cool to warm.

As you might guess, Big Baby has MAC’s signature vanilla scent and flavor. It also has a moisturizing formula that feels a little thinner to me, and less sticky, than a Lipglass.

It’s a fab shade to have on hand if you like nude, shiny lips with a purr of peachy color.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. I hope your Monday went off without a hitch. No complaints from this end of the keyboard, although I’m craving fish tacos somethin’ fierce…

Is 8:30 too late for takeout? (Please say no.)

OH! I almost forgot. I still haven’t watched last night’s episode of True Blood. I think this new season got off to an action-packed start. 🙂

You look especially gorgeous in this post, Karen! Want your effortlessly beachy hair 🙂 And the gloss, of course. Pretty shade, and I could sure use a gloss that makes me feel alive hahaha

I’ve never tried a Plush Glass before – and one that is named “Big Baby”? That itself warrants a purchase 🙂

This is probably my HG lipgloss. I’ve worn out many a tube of it. LOVE IT!

Karen. How is your hair so amazing?!

I’ve never tried a MAC Plushglass before. In fact, the only lip gloss I’ve ever tried from MAC’s was your Evolution Revolution. 😛

I don’t own any of Mac’s plushglasses, but this is such a great everyday color it may just be the start of my collection! 😛

This one is gorgeous–I don’t have many MAC lipglasses (and don’t own a Plush Glass yet), but when I d buy MAC glosses I always tend to go for these sheer, shimmery pink ones. Pretty 🙂

I think you’re on to something. I remember people being really addicted to Carmex lip balm when I was a teenager. I never liked it much but it certainly made my lips tingly. 🙂

I hear you on TB – it’s jam packed with interesting sub-plots this season. I was bummed for you about Roman, but Russell is just so much fun that I hope it will make up for the loss.

You look GREAT, Karen! I like this better than Nymphette. I know it’s immensely popular, but for some reason it looks SO wrong on me. I think this one will be a bit easier to use 🙂

Monday wasnt bad — I got home and the Hubs had made dinner (yum!) … and then I just vegged and watched LOST reruns. 🙂

BIg Baby is a staple for me — I love it to bits!

I love the color. 🙂 And it really suits you. But I don’t like tingling lip glosses.

I love this one! I use it all the time, it works for more complex eye looks as well as more everyday ones. I was so sad when I lost it after a night out. This is why I can’t have nice things!

There is something about your skin lately. What is it? I’ve been meaning to ask you and everybody seems to notice. New foundation? New skincare? Please, share! It looks so good!
