Urban Decay Halloween Eyes, Rated PG (Purple and Gold)

October 30th, 2009 by Karen 29 Comments

Fo’ reals, it’s physically impossible to take pictures of yourself wearing purple and gold striped eyeshadow without making a cra-zaaay face! 🙂

I was feeling adventurous yesterday, so I decided to try another potential Halloween look, this one inspired by this face chart from Urban Decay.

All of the makeup for my lips and eyes is from UD, namely the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Eldorado (from the Super Stash kit) and Ransom, Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Midnight Cowboy, Deluxe Eyeshadows in Frigid and Freakshow, Skyscraper Mascara, 24-7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Wallflower and Lipstick in Naked.

On my cheeks I’m wearing Benefit Dallas blush…

I think the hardest part of the look (beyond trying to keep a straight face in most of the pics!) was trying to get the striped eye wings to match. I did my entire left eye first, finishing it before starting on the right (rather than working on both eyes concurrently), but next time I try something like this I think I might do a little work on both eyes at the same time, at least framing them in before the details.

Oh! I did manage to sneak in one relatively normal pic. It’s a Halloween miracle!

Hope your Friday has gone swimmingly. Any news to report?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

      Hi Mariah,

LOL! If only I had a Prince outfit — you know, one of his shiny purple suits with the ruffled white shirt?

    I love the title!

P.S. This afternoon I saw an Indian girl (chocolate skin brown eyes) wearing a PG look as well, she rimmed her eyes with some smudged out purple eyeliner and sheer golden eyeshadow allover her lid, she paired the look with a pink blush and it was so pretty!

This is fun, simple and effective. I just picked up the U/D 24/7 Super Stash set and I am loving it. I have yet to play with all the colours though. I keep on wanting to play with Halloween looks, instead of doing real work like I am suppose to do!

I LOVE IT! It’s gorgeous! Too bad it’s not something that would go with my costume for tomorrow, but I had to tell you how much I love it! I’m going to be a black cat so my makeup will consist of bright green/turquoise & gold/yellow, lots of black, plus a black nose & mascara whiskers. 🙂 I can’t wait! I love doing Halloween makeup! What are you planning to be? Sorry if you’ve already said it; I have a terrible memory..

I just went back to my high school to visit, wearing a daring purple smoky eye (It was a night time party! I had a right to wear something funky), and I absolutely loved it, this is such a unique look! I hope you have fun this halloween!

Wild! I love this! You could do some kind of futuristic sci-fi costume with this look. And kudos on the artistic talent – I would not have been able to make the second eye symmetrical if I didn’t do them concurrently. 😀

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
