HARD CANDY take me out liner review

Killer eyeliner looks come naturally to Tabs. Me? It takes more work.

HARD CANDY take me out liner review

But sexy kitteh liner looks just got that much easier — and tres affordable — thanks to Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner ($5, and part of their permanent line).

For lords and ladies who love creamy, smooth textures and vibrant shades, these pencil liners glide on and stay put for hours with nary a budge.

Available in 20 colors that also cover a variety of finishes from subtle shimmers to metallics to glitter-heavy shades, these liners have a little something-something for almost anyone.

TIP: For ye olde multitasking mavens, the long, skinny chopstick-style shape makes them suitable for use as impromptu hair styling sticks, too… Matter of fact, I’m using one to hold my bun in place right now. 🙂

HARD CANDY take me out liner review

I’ve been wearing Geisha, the shimmery purple (shown at the top), and even sans eye primer, it wears exceptionally well along the lash line.

It can’t hack it along the waterline, however, but I can enthusiastically forgive it for that.

Why? Because a $5 drugstore liner this smooth — one that comes in this many fun colors — doesn’t come around often.

Swatch of Geisha

If you’re open to a budget-friendlier alternative to Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils (and don’t mind the sub-par performance along the waterline), I think these are well worth a try. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A

You might like Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner if…

  • Budget makeup makes you wanna shoop
  • You like smooth pencils that don’t skip on or tug the skin
  • You rarely use liners along your waterline
  • You crave crazy, vibrant colors

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

      Hi Candace,

Geisha is amazing, right? I wasn’t sure what to expect from the line as drugstore stuff tends to be hit or miss, but this is so great. Any must-haves that you think I need to try?

And wow cute is that blush? The veining in the pan reminds me of MAC’s Mineralize Blushes! I also like the packaging.

Oh, I’ll let you know that if I find anything good, too.

My parents always tease me saying I always copy my dog Mindy’s natural black eyeliner .. She’s got the “cat eyes” going on. My puppy Lola has natural white eyeshadow and pink lips . I’m so jealous !
But alas ! have makeup to change up my color to purple or green or blue or whatever I want whenever I want . I think you can never have enough eyeliner .
My local Wal Mart does a sorry job of keeping Hard Candy in stock ..but then I do live in an area with a Lot of teen-agers so whenever i do see them, the plastic seal is broken. Sure, I can sharpen it, but yeah . I can’t do it knowing it’s been tampered with . but when Geisha is there, untouched, I’m so picking it up ! Darn you and Tabs ! I’m definitely in a Teal and Purple eyeliner mood lately . But even so, the design of the pencils to me is just downright stupid . Oh well ! You can’t ask for too much in the “drugstore” makeup department in terms of packaging 😡

I can’t help it but feel a pang of jealousy sometimes .
I’ve honestly had people tell me that our eye “makeup” looks alike . It’s so silly !
But i love me some eyeliner.
        Tastefully done, of course 🙂
Mine is never quite as dramatic as hers and she never has to worry about even lines .
        Sigh .
But i love them all ! Tabs included. But i shall admire all handsome cats from afar 😀

Man, those are beautiful! I’ve been looking for some less expensive, lovely and creamy eyeliners to have fun with–a friend of mine constantly lauds Urban Decay’s eyeliners, but there’s that pesky thing called a budget.

A completely unrelated question for you, if you don’t mind: I have unbelievably sensitive, dry skin, and I’m looking around for a new foundation. I’ve heard good things and iffy things about Bare MInerals; have you tried them? What’s your opinion?
    Thanks~

      Hi Anne,

I know some people swear by it, but personally I haven’t had the best of luck. I tried it for a week and by the end of it I broke out something fierce.

What other foundations have you tried? My skin breaks out fairly easily, and I’ve had good luck w/Laura Mercier’s and Chanel’s.

It went on really smoothly but it made my eyes a little itchy after a couple of hours. Could have been the super hot weather and sweaty lids though – I’ll give it another whirl this weekend! 🙂
