Light Shimmies on Lips Wearing Estèe Lauder Pure Color Gloss in Shimmering Mirage

Estèe Lauder’s Pure Color Gloss in Shimmering Mirage ($22.50) might not be the flashiest piece in the new Bronze Goddes Capri collection for summer (have ya seen the Bronze Sands palette yet?), but I still think this lemony golden beige, with its bodacious silver shimmer, deserves a serious shout-out.

I’m a sucker for shining nude lips like these, especially on weekends (when my laziness kicks into overdrive). This limited edition shade actually reminds me of a slightly cooler version of my current go-to nude lip gloss, Burberry Nude Gold, except with a side of silver glitter.

I think it’s a great gloss for lazy day makeup looks. I’ll just fill in my brows, pat a little concealer under my eyes, curl my lashes, sweep some blush on my cheeks and top things off with Shimmering Mirage.

I feel like pale Mirage contrasts nicely with brighter eye looks like the one I’m wearing here. It might not be the most pigmented or bright gloss on the block, but I love the look of nude, shiny lips, so it’s a lippie I know I’ll use.

Estèe Lauder’s glosses typically have a strong flavor and scent, somewhere between roses and Granny Smith apples (a little weird, but I think it works), and Shimmering Mirage does, too.

As for the texture and consistency, it’s thick, but not too sticky, with a non-drying formula that lasts about two hours on my lips.

Find it now at Estèe Lauder counters and online at esteelauder.com.

I love your earrings and matching top more than the gloss!

It looks very pretty on you as a nude! But I think on my very pale lips and ghostly skin, it’d probably just wash me out 🙁

Lipgloss related question, Karen… Was Evolution Revolution a limited edition, or has it been available since its creation? Not always being able to keep up with MAC, I always assumed it was limited when you talk about it, but I was purusing MAC’s website and saw it on there!

I loooove your earrings, top, and eyeshadows! The gloss is nice, but I have the impression that it’s easy to find something similar 🙂
