These Bronze Sands Are Limited Edition in Capri: The New Estée Lauder Five Color Gelée Powder EyeShadow Palette in Bronze Sands

Earlier today on my walk outside with Tabs, I felt a chill in my bones. It was a little breezy and crisp today, but you wouldn’t have known it looking at Tabs. He just slinked along in his built-in fur coat, pulling me behind him on his leash.

When he felt he’d adequately secured the perimeter of the front yard and noticed me shivering, he reluctantly agreed to accompany me back inside the house.

As soon as we shut the door, I made a beeline for my makeup, thinking that a summery, beachy look would warm my cold bones. I grabbed the new Estée Lauder Pure Color Five Color Gelée Powder EyeShadow Palette in Bronze Sands ($45).

Like a ray of late afternoon sunlight in the sunshine-stocked Bronze Goddess Capri Collection, Bronze Sands shelters five metallic powder eyeshadows in shades of gold, bronze, beige, brown and teal. A few swipes of these soft, smooth powders, which feel almost like a cream to me, and my lids glow with rich, shiny color.

Nice. 🙂

Other than a few flecks of teal and brown shadow showing up on my cheeks and beneath my lower lash lines, I don’t notice much fallout from these at all.

And I only need a few swipes with the MAC 217 to blend these colors together. Good thing, because the moment I finished my eye makeup this morning, Tabs started mewling for a treat.

I swear, if he doesn’t get his Turkey Temptations by 9, that cat turns into a bear. 🙂

      Hi Chris,

I think you’d like the texture of this too! It’s so soft and buttery — almost creamy.

I hope that you finished your paper and you feel good about the writing!

I did finish it on time. I actually wrote a little more than was required. I think I did an okay job on it.

As beautiful as it is on you I will not be checking it out. I personally don’t like blue eyeshadow on me. I have enough make-up to last me 20 lifetimes! Boxes and boxes of MAC, NARS, etc. Not that I am against buying more. . . : )

Me neither. One of El Hub’s favorite lines is, “Do you REALLY need another lipgloss?” Of course the answer is yes!

One of the reasons why I married my peanut aka el hub is because he never asks such questions. He says he wants me to be happy so he lets me keep shopping. (He is an enabler!) lol

Ahh! Love this look on you 😀 They’re not colours I’d typically go for, but I might have to give this palette a swatch sometime – I just love the earthy, beachy vibe.

karen you look great! i have a similar palette from pur minerals but i never know how to make teal work on me. can you describe your application sort of what u put where? i feel like a clown everytime i try to use teal and never actually make it out of the house with it on.

    thanks!

      Hi Yelena,

      Sure!

Teal: I applied it on the lids and barely into the crease, concentrating most of the color along the lash line to create a gradient.

Gold: Swept into the inner half of my crease (the side closest to my nose)

Bronze: Applied to the outer half of the crease (side closest to my ear)

Dark Brown: Patted and blended this on the outer corner

Beige: Applied to the brow bone and inner corer of the eye

I know what you mean about certain colors making you feel kinda clownish. For me the trick seems to be to keep the colorful shades on the lids and the neutrals in the crease. That seems to sort of mellow out the effect while still added some punch. Does that make sense? Let me know if you have any questions.

thanks so much karen! i will have to give it a try soon as i get home and get my paws on the pur minerals nature’s paradise palette i’ve been having for a while now….its only $28 and the blush and bronzer are absolutely gorgeous! u wud just love it! i am nc40/42 so if it looks goodo n me it will look even better on u. my only complaint is the brush itt came with was a little small but the shadows and blush and bronzer sizes are very generous and the palette is just small enough for travel but large enough that its more than worth the money. also the shadows are on a magnetic strip thingy so u can replace them with other shadows if u want (they are interchangeable ).

I’m digging this palette! Look at that gold, brown, copper, and teal! Everything is calling my name!

Tabs gives you till 9 to turn into a bear? That’s very kind of him! Tango me-meows me up at 6, 7 every morning because he gets bored/hungry already at that point. There goes my beauty sleep lol

Is Tango a stickler for his routines? Tabs has to stick to his, otherwise he gets very cranky.
