Fanciful Fall: The Dolce & Gabbana Sweet Temptations Collection Would Like You to Save Room for Dessert

August 30th, 2011 by Karen 49 Comments

dolce gabbana <img loading=

Cocoa cravings got ya down? Why not save the See’s for later, and let the Dolce & Gabbana Sweet Temptations collection feed your need (and you won’t even have to undo the top button of your skinny jeans)?

Delectable neutrals in cocoas and creams (YUM!) headline the dessert cart in the 11-piece release for eyes, lips, cheeks, face and nails, but they aren’t the only treats on the menu this fall. Chef D&G was kind enough to add sprinkles of orange, berry, pink, green and gold.

Resistance is futile for me when it comes to chocolate cravings and Dolce & Gabbana’s smooth textures, but it’s utterly ridiculous when you combine them with delicious names like Cocoa, Almond, Cinnamon and Praline.

Here’s a taste of what’s in store with a few swatches and pics. If anything causes your sweet tooth to throb, please let me know. 🙂

The entire Dolce & Gabbana Sweet Temptations collection includes…

  • Classic Cream Lipstick in Cinnamon 49 (new), $30
  • Shine Lipstick in Almond 77 (new), $30
  • Ultra Shine Lipgloss in Praline 102 (new), $29
  • Precision Lipliner in Berry 11 (new), $30
  • Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Cocoa 115 (new), $59
  • Smooth Eye Colour Duo in Cinnamon 80 (new), $36
  • Crayon Intense in Green Almond 17 (new), $29
  • Crayon Intense in Candied 18 (new), $29
  • Glow Illuminating Powder in Shimmery 6 (new), $47
  • Luminous Cheek Colour in Mocha 28 (new), $44
  • Intense Nail Colour in Cocolate 203 (new), $20

So what do ya think? Is there any meat in this collection, or is it just dessert? 🙂

If you’d like to taste test the collection in person before deciding, it’s available now online and on counters at select Saks Fifth Avenue stores.

And if you happen by the Saks in Bal Harbour, Miami (as unlikely as that may be), try to stop by the Dolce & Gabbana counter and say hi to Maygan. She’s a fab makeup artist and an all around super cool chick.

When chocolate is spelled with a Special K…

Okay, so I’m probably late jumping on this bandwagon, but have you ever tried Kellog’s Special Chocolatey Delight??

Holy crap! I picked up a box at Target yesterday and already finished half.

So (crunch, crunch, crunch), how was your day (crunch, crunch, crunch)?

Your hungry neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Ooh the shadow quad and duo are so very pretty!

A box of yummy cereal can be a very dangerous thing! It’s the ultimate evening comfort food.

      Hi Heidi,

I think I need to start a cereal support group, because I’m already showing the signs of Special K Chocolatey Delight addiction. 🙂

What are you favorite cereals? We always have some Kashi Go Lean Crunch for me and Raisin Bran Crunch for El Hub in the pantry.

There’s a Kashi one at Trader Joe’s called Autumn Harvest (I think) that are shredded wheat with a bit of sweetness and spice which is really good, and I love the Trader Joe’s Multigrain O’s. Just the right amount of sweet.

Maygan is amazing! I was on a trip but managed to sneak away to Bal Harbour to pick up the Mandorla lipstick I saw on your blog. Ran into Maygan and I ended up closing down the store. We had way too much fun! I really wish I had done before and after pictures so everyone could see the miracle she performed! Needless to say I walked out with the lipstick and most of the summer collection.

Looks like I am going to be in even more trouble, I LOVE chocolate and just can’t resist. I guess I will be sneaking off again on my next trip!

The lipsticks and lipgloss are a must. I like the look of the Candied liner but I have to see how it will look on me. Could be cool on the inner corners of the eye.

I probably should stop there but it will be hard!

Oh wow, Cinnamon lipstick looks right up my alley (though not sure Cinnamon was a good name choice considering the shade…). And I am OBSESSED with Special K Chocolatey Delight!! I go through two boxes per week, no joke. It is the definition of yum, my friend.

Oh Karen, I just spotted something – I think the first two liners are mislabeled (switched). The green is the first one, right? Also, I don’t see Cinnamon on the Saks site. I wonder if it’s sold out or just not available yet? Either way, bummed!!

HAHA! Yes, that must be why I like it! 🙂

So, TB. I laughingly said that Sook must be in need of a lobotomy if she’s confused over whether to choose Bill or Eric. And I like Bill and all, but come on, woman! Good thing she’s not spending a lot of time around shirtless Alcide because then home girl would REALLY be in trouble!

On a reading-way-too-much-into-it note, I think remembering how he was will give Eric more flexibility as a character. He was always motivated by “what’s best for me”. Then, with the amnesia, it was “what’s best for everyone else”. We could be in for a few surprises now that the two seem to be combining. And clearly, he’s my favorite character. Every time he does the smoldering eye look, I feel like hitting google images for 10 minutes or so. I’ll be right back. 🙂

Oh, and back to Alcide. He really, really needs a new date. Even cleaned up, Debbie wasn’t good enough for him (and his abs)! HAHA!

What do you think? Are you expecting the last 2 episodes to be awesome? I don’t want to jinx it, but I think they’re going to rock!

Back to the makeup: Precision Lipliner in Berry 11 looks absolutely hot! I don’t usually wear shades like that, but recently I’m falling for them. But I don’t think that this one’s within my budget, so that’s the only reason I’ll pass on it.

I’m surprised how much I really like a lot of their stuff. I especially like the cinnamon eye duo and the two eye pencils green almond and candied. The nail color I really like too but its similar to a Chanel color that I have already called Rouge Noir.

Can’t wait to see your makeup with these products, I really think that quad color palette is going to look fab on you, especially that apricot color!

As for the chocolate Special K, I have never tried it. I’m so stuck on their Special K with strawberries that I haven’t tried anything else. I’ll have to check it out next time I’m at the store.
