Hot Couture at a Cool Price: Sonia Kashuk’s $14.99 Brush Couture Five-Piece Brush Set

Maaaan, Sonia and her good deals. The new bangin’ budget brushes in Sonia Kashuk’s limited edition $14.99 Brush Couture Five-Piece Brush Set work out to just $3 each, which is a great deal, even for Sonia.

A few of the brushes in this particular set also remind me of bad@ass brushes from more expensive brands…

…like the Powder Brush.

The head looks a lot like the one on the $52 Bronzer Brush from Bobbi Brown I’ve been coveting, and over the month I’ve been testing it and the other brushes in the set, I’ve grabbed this one for bronzer almost every single day. Because it’s awesome for the stuff. Beautiful, even application and a natural look.

We’re talking about one heck of a great face brush here. Shoot, by itself I think it’s worth the price of the kit.

But then there’s the Flat Shader Brush, which could steal my $25 MAC 214 Short Shader Brush’s job.

If you like the look of full brows that don’t appear harsh, Sonia’s Brush Couture Flat Shader flat-out rocks. With a flat, slightly rounded edge, the brush head covers a good amount of surface area, saving time on application, and it deposits brow powders and shadows with a soft, diffused touch.

The Fluffy Eye Shadow Brush also deserves much love. It blends eye shadows, precisely sweeps highlighter on my upper cheekbones, and buffs in powder to set concealer just as well as my $31 MAC 224 Tapered Blending Brush.

The other two brushes in the kit — the Foundation Brush and Angled Contour Brush — aren’t half bad, either.

All five of them feel fantastic on my skin (super soft), and they’ve held up well, too. No ferules falling apart or bristles breaking or splaying at weird angles after cleaning.

And don’t you just love the dots on the handles? So happy and cheerful! 🙂

PRICE: $14.99

Adorable handles! I love Sonia Kashuk brushes. Most of my brush collection consists of brushes from the brand, actually 😛 They’re so great and they last quite a while too! That smudge brush is my favorite–I use it every day. I really should get another one…

There is a $3 off mobile coupon for Sonia Kashuk brand items. These would be a really good deal.

I have another Brush Couture set by SK that I adore. Blending brush, ftw! I haven’t thought to try the shader on my brows, but now it’s a must. Thanks for the tip!

So cute! I have a beat-to-pieces Sonia powder brush from forever ago that is still holding up wonderfully. However, I mayyyy just have to replace it with the one from this set. I don’t need the foundation brush, but I’d use the other 4. Plus those handles are so stinkin cute.

I just picked these beauties up last weekend and I can’t believe how great they are! They powder brush has a permanent place in my heart already (it’s the perfect tool for applying MAC MSF Natural!) and the shader brush is literally the tool I’ve been missing.
