Radiant, Peachy Pink Cheeks Are Easy With the Right Blush: MAC Glamour Daze Powder Blush in Easy Manner

November 1st, 2012 by Karen 38 Comments

Wearing MAC Powder Blush in Easy Manner

It’s like the shy boy you met in front of a bookstore, or the brazen street cat who boldly strutted into your apartment one random afternoon (“From this day forward, YOU ARE MY HUMAN!”).

Big change has a funny way of finding us when we least expect it. One minute we’re eating roasted almonds on the couch; the next minute we’re cleaning up cat barf on the living room floor.

BOOM!

That’s how it was for me and $22 MAC Glamour Daze Powder Blush in Easy Manner, one of the happiest accidents I’ve had in weeks.

MAC Glamour Daze Easy Manner
MAC Glamour Daze Powder Blush in Easy Manner, $22

I was thrilled the first time I saw this sateen, slightly pinkish peach radiantly glowing on my cheeks…

mac easy manner blush

Just like I was on my first date with that shy boy from the bookstore (who turned out to be El Hub). 🙂 Or the first time that brazen kitty purred in my lap.

And the best thing about Easy Manner’s understated but electrifying thrill? — it’s easy to repeat. Just sweep or swirl a couple layers on the apples of your cheeks.

MAC Glamour Daze Powder Blush in Easy Manner

  • A long-wearing, glitter-less, natural-looking peachy pink blush with a soft, satiny finish
  • One of three new limited edition Powder Blush shades from the MAC Glamour Daze holiday collection
  • Limited edition, shiny black packaging has a white MAC Logo on top
  • Costs $2 more than the blushes in MAC’s permanent collection ($22 versus $20)
  • I think it looks great dressed up or down, but I really love it with creamy neutral lipsticks like Hourglass Vintage and shimmery black or gray smokey eyes with a cream eyeshadow (a few to try: Benefit Creaseless Cream in Strut, MAC Paint Pot in Blackground or Chanel Illusion D’Ombre in Mirifique)

Even though the price hike seems unnecessary, MAC Glamour Daze Powder Blush in Easy Manner has a way with cheeks. For a fantastic, natural-looking flush with a kick, it’s an unexpected gem that should suit most skin tones.

PRICE: $22
AVAILABILITY: Available now at MAC counters, stores and maccosmetics.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A-

A question of great urgency and importance

My mind’s telling me no. But my body, my body’s telling me yes.

So I’ve been wrestling with this all afternoon: is 37 too old to wear space cat leggings?

Because I really like this pair I found on Etsy.

I love the print, but hmm… I’m not a cheeky teen or 20-something anymore. If necessary, please save me from myself. I don’t want to end up living in the fashion monkey house (the one reserved for crazy cat ladies!), LOL!

Onward to Friday! But first, I’m watching Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

And those space leggings? Oh come on. Drake didn’t trend “YOLO” for no reason.

Buy ’em. Wear ’em. Werq ’em. And theeen put them back in the drawers for tomorrow night.

I had to rock out to some old school R. Kelly after reading this! Thanks for that. 🙂
I say yes to the leggings. Now’s the time to wear them with pride. I’m seeing crazy leggings everywhere – next season it might be too late. We’ll be on the newest trend by then.

I like the blush but I just ordered the Small Vanity, it looks like a good fall blush. It should arrive today 🙂

As for the leggings, go for it 🙂 I think Tabs would approve.

    1. No, 37 is not too old for space leggings. Please wear them 🙂 You have the personality to rock them for sure.
    2. Navy is your colour. You need to keep wearing it 🙂
    3. This blush is so beautiful on you. It goes so well with the highlights in your hair!

I’m so glad I changed my mind and ended up buying this! Initially, it looked like it was going to be an ashy, powdery mess on my skin. When I swatched it on the back of my hand, it disappeared. I now blame that on the lighting in the store that I was in because it looked totally different when I swatched it again after I bought it. It also looks wonderful on you, which means I’ve got high hopes for myself (NC42, holla!)

      Hi Monika,

This blush really surprised me too. When I first saw it in the pan, I thought — NO WAY! It’s kinda magical once you get it on cheeks, right?

Anywho, did you pick up anything else from the collection?

      Reply

        November 5th, 2012 at 12:12 pm

Yes, totally magical! It’s one of those blushes that gets darker when it hits your skin, and I think it’s the key to its versatility for darker skin tones.

And oh yes, I picked up other stuff. I got a whole bunch! I especially love the face kits that they released with the blush, lipstick, lip gloss, and brush. I’m not going to get much use out of the 129, but the color products are all fantastic in each set. I just think the sets shouldn’t have been $70. Seems overpriced for MAC.

Wow, this looks gorgeous on you! I think you carry neutral shades so well Karen, sometimes I’m surprised when certain shades don’t wash you out. Even though I am NC35-ish, I find it difficult to find flattering neutrals for myself, I can carry brights on the other hand more easily!

      Hi Ankita,

Have you tried layering a warm pencil beneath your neutral lip colors? Something like Subculture, Sublime Culture or Boldly Bare might help.

Love the blush, and the tights are SO cool! I can’t really pair them with anything in my closet because it’s too loud and colorful as it is, but if you wear something very simple then it could work 🙂

Online shopping sounds good to me. I’ve purchased a few things off of the MAC website and have always gotten really good customer service. 🙂

Hope that you and your loved ones stayed safe in the storm, and thanks for the vote on the leggings.

Hella Yeah on the space leggings. They are awesome and you will rock them, without a doubt. 🙂

I laughed at your cat puke comment. Just the other morning I came downstairs, saw a copious amount and was like “oh, no… please don’t let it be in the kids’ shoes. Please just be on the rug.” Thankfully it was next to the shoes but not on them. And it actually made me happy. Even though I was cleaning up cat puke! HAHA!

That blush is Ahhhh Mazing! The leggings, am I only the second person to say NO? LOL I’m ok with that because I’m going to say no, unless you are going to Comicon as a CatLady Hero with a matching cape!! Which is totally fine but I’m assuming that’s not your intention…. I love Tabs and I love your blog but I’m not feeling those leggings.

I say go for the leggings – not many people can pull them off and look good whether they are 37 or 17. You look great in them! I think being “too old” to do or wear something depends on the person…it’s definitely a subject up for a lot of debate and something I ponder when watching occasional episodes of TLC’s What Not To Wear. Some people on that show don’t really need the show, while others could probably use some guidance. The blush looks pretty – I would have never guessed it would give you that glow based on how hit looks in the pan!
