Lighten Your Load and Perfect Your Pout With Too Faced Perfect Lips

Wearing Too Faced Cosmetics Perfect Lips in Perfect Red

QUESTION: Besides their affinity for beauty products, what do Tabs and the makeup bag I haul around in my purse have in common?

ANSWER: They both weigh almost 20 pounds!

Yeah, something here desperately needs streamlining, and this time I’m not referring to the cat.

Okay, 20 pounds is probably an exaggeration (for the bag, not the cat). It’s probably more like 1-2 pounds on most days. Maybe 5 every so often.

However much it weighs, it’s a lot.

All of those glosses, lipsticks, compacts, palettes, lip liners, and (occasionally) cans of Fancy Feast (always in gravy) definitely take some muscle to haul around, she said, her shoulder pulled low by the weight of a dozen products.

But my overworked shoulder felt a sudden rush of relief the first time I lined my lips with one of the four new Too Faced Perfect Lips liners ($17 each and available in four twist-up shades), not to be confused with the company’s Perfect Lips Universal Lip Pencil Liner, which only comes in a single shade and lacks a twist-up tip.

Perfect Nude, Perfect Pink, Perfect Spice and Perfect Red line and prime lips to boost the wear time of lipsticks and glosses worn on top of them, and they’re designed to wear well with a wide range of colors.

Take Perfect Pink, for instance. Even when I’m toting around 10 tubes of pink gloss (which happens), it’s neutral enough to work with just about all of them.

When worn by themselves, in which case they look like matte lipsticks, they last about 5-6 hours and fade slowly. The non-drying, non-feathering formula even stands up to Pop Chips and pineapple chunks.

I also like these on low-maintenance days for “my lips but better” looks, when I’m not in the mood to fuss. All I do is line and fill in my lips with one of the pigmented shades (they’re all so smooth and soft!), and dab a dash of lip balm on top for extra shine.

PRICE: $17 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Sephora and Ulta stores, and online at toofaced.com

You make me laugh! My husband is a naval engineer and he swears my handbag is twice as heavy as the toolbox he uses at work!! and you know what…..I believe he is right…. Once I accidentally bump someone with my purse and the poor soul asked me if I carried bricks in my bag…..

I’m often iffy on some of the makeup you test, but holy cow, that red looks absolutely stunning on you.

Wow, Perfect Red looks FAB on you! I am loving the look of Perfect Spice. One of the only lip liners I own is from CoverGirl (I think…) and it’s called Spice. I really like it, but I like Perfect Spice more because it has more pinky tones in it. Want!

hehe, the lil bag with make up i bring to school everyday is heavier than the rest of stuff(3 notebooks) though not that heavy but still, kinda like a 0.5 L bottle of water(when i bring a lot of lipsticks-idk why cause i don’t end up using them)

i like that red on you 😀

Those look like great liners! I have one from NYX (in Vanilla Sky, or something like that – it’s a nude) that is pretty good. It’s supposed to be waterproof. I’m just getting into lipstick and liner – bought my first red lippy a few weeks ago! It’s one of those Cover Girl lip blast, or whatever they are called – it has a different lipstick at either end. The one I just bought has red on one end and gold on the other, and it’s surprisingly summery! So far I’ve worn it only around the house but it’s a big step for me!

That red looks amazing on you! I can’t believe it’s only a liner, it’s matte but doesn’t look dry or drying. I have naturally dry lips so I avoid using lipliners as an all-over color. This looks like I could actually wear it! Yet another new product from Too Faced that makes me appreciate the direction they are headed.
I’m so impressed by some of their new makeup!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
