The MAC Sharon & Kelly Osbourne Collection for Summer 2014: Kelly’s Lips

Wearing Satin Lipstick in Kelly Yum Yum on my lips

I was really looking forward to Kelly’s lipsticks from the the MAC Sharon & Kelly Osbourne collection, because from the product pics, they looked like the cats meow/whole enchilada (what’s the British equivalent of an enchilada? A pasty?) — like, take off your stretchy pants, and put on some real pants so you can head to the counter right now.

But then I tried them on…and I realized that you may have to be 16 years old with lips smoother than a baby’s butt to pull them off.

With the exception of Kelly Yum-Yum, the only satin lipstick in the bunch, the others are hard to wear, at least for me, and I really, REALLY tried to make them work.

Dude. I almost didn’t want to post these lip swatches because I’m not exactly thrilled with how they turned out. My lips look dry and heavily lined. I mean, I know I’m not a spring chicken, and I may be a little dehydrated today, but come on! I feel like Miss Havisham up in this b*tch.

So, first, the good. Kelly Yum-Yum. 🙂 If you only get one lip product from the Kelly squad, let it be this. It’s a satin finish version of the spectacular matte Candy Yum-Yum Lipstick. I just wore Candy Yum-Yum last week in the Jem lips post.

Other than the finishes being different, the colors aren’t identical. Kelly Yum-Yum has a little more pink, and not quite as much blue. But I think both are straight-up showstoppers.

Then there’s In Synch, the re-promoted Lip Pencil. It’s a solid oldie but a goodie.

I found the others here — the three matte lipsticks — difficult to wear, at least without serious lip prepping.

Like, if I smothered my lips first with lip balm the night before, and then on the morning of, and then drank five gallons of water, and then turned back time 10 years (ok, 20), then, yeah, we could make ’em work.

Wow, these look nothing like the other swatches I’ve seen….I was really looking forward to these but now I’m not so sure.

I’m still kind of excited for these. I’ve skipped so many collections lately, I feel I deserve the cutest one lol. It seems like the colors I think may not work on me end up looking the best. So weird 😛 🙂

I’ve been hunting down and snagging up all the “nude-neon orangey” lip colors… and so far all three I’ve found have been matte formulas. I so want to try Riot House so bad to see if it will behave well on my lips! 🙂
I also want to see Kelly Yum Yum and Candy Yum Yum side by side now. They’re both pretty fab.

I hope you can make it work, Ashleigh! It’s one of those shades that I really wanted to wear, le sigh.

Kelly Yum Yum was already a must have for me! I’m quite the pink lip freak lol. I can never have enough! I really like Dodgy Girl too. I initially wanted 2 but the texture is making me want to stick with just one. It’s a beautiful color but I have a ton of fine lines and I’m sure it’ll be settle city. Bleh

Kelly Yum Yum is pretty! I like the colour *idea* of Dodgy Girl, but it’s a shame it’s a settle-fest. I mean, It would look nightmarish on this vampire 😉 but I do love purple as a colour!

Ouch! If you’re having problems with these lippies, this NC50 girl will certainly have problems. I’ll have to turn back time 20 years too (lol)! I was hoping to get Dodgy Girl and Riot House and use both sparingly with great lip gloss and lip liners. This is definitely a collection to swatch in person.

The Dior counter manager I used to work with is going to be all over Kelly Yum Yum. She wore bright pink like that every day.

I’m glad you posted all those lip color photos, now I can remove all of them from my shopping list.

Those colors are definitely not for you so I am sure they will not be good for me either.

Despite the texture, I’m really looking forward to giving Dodgy Girl a try! One of my all time favourite lipsticks is Lavender Whip (both the 2008 and 2013!), but I always wished they were more opaque, seeing as they’re cremesheens. Dodgy Girl looks like a cooler, more opaque Lavender Whip so I can’t wait to try and make it work. I am a fiend for lavender lips, especially for my NC15 skin, and I’m still looking for the perfect lavender!

I love all of Kelly’s lipsticks. Dodgy girl looks very compatible to lavender whip. Lavender whip is one of my favorite lipsticks! Except I am allergic to gluten, gluten is in Mac’s creamsheen finish lipsticks. I didn’t realize why I had was having breathing and other problems when I wore it! I have been searching for years for something compatible. I am hoping dodgy girl is it. Am I crazy to buy 2! Help I am addicted to Mac. Lol 🙂

    Karen!
I’m looking for a nude lipstick. I’m stuck between strip poker & riot house in the Kelly collection and peach beige in the Pedro collection. So what do you think?
