Is it just me, or does today feel like the third Saturday in a row? ? MAN, sure is nice to have some time off. I love Thanksgiving week!
I’m about to head out soon for a hike at the nearby College of Marin Indian Valley campus and to play “soccer” with li’l bean on their field. I say “soccer” in airquotes because I don’t really know anything about actual soccer at all, because I grew up majorly Asian, and our equivalent of playing soccer was playing piano (seriously, everyone I knew did it), but CoyCoy really seems to enjoy kicking the ball around, so that’s what we do. It’s fun.
Oh, regarding the gluten-free cheddar garlic biscuit/mini scones recipe I mentioned on Thanksgiving, I’m going to whip up another batch this weekend (twist my arm, why don’t ya?!) and take some pics and notes along the way. Then I’ll post it later this week. That is, if I don’t pass out from butter and cheese-induced ecstasy, HAHAHA!
Onto this week’s reading…
- Your Mariah Carey fun fact for the day: Mimi never wears red lipstick during Christmas! ✨? Her makeup artist Kristopher Buckle uses this shade instead.
- I think we all need to paint our nails navy blue!
- OH, MY GOSH! Did you know that press-on toenails were a thing?!
- “She stole my cat. She doesn’t want to return it.” <---------Um, RUDE!
- Speaking of cats, apparently kitties use meows as a tool to manipulate their
humans. As a bonafide crazy cat lady, I can say this is 100% true. - A dermatologist and a cosmetic chemist debunk 19 skin-care myths.
We BUMPED this on repeat on Thanksgiving!
Let’s get this party started.
I kind of love this.
YES
I hope the rest of your weekend involves fun and, ideally, yummy leftovers!

I don’t know anything about soccer either! I had no interest in sports, I just wandered in the woods and read.

I’m so excited about Miss Scarlet and The Duke, along with All Creatures Great and Small, coming on in January, because I have officially now watched all the things. Some of them twice. ??

I love the photo of you and Connor walking in the wooded hills. Looking forward to the recipe for the GF Cheddar Garlic Biscuits! You’re the best! I would say that cats not only use their meows to manipulate their humans, but their whole entire beings. There were a multitude of ways Nora used to manipulate us.

Thank you for the link to the Christmas music! I’m going to be playing that all season long starting tomorrow when we put up our tree! ?

Press on toenails sound really weird and unnecessary but when I lost most of my big toenail in an accident one summer press on toenails let me still wear sandals without anyone noticing the missing one. I just used the fake on my mostly missing big toenail and used the matching polish that came in the set to paint my real toenails to match. My feet were still cute and presentable!

Thanks for the laugh out loud line! HAHA! I had no idea that the Asian equivalent of soccer was playing piano. I love it! And I really do wish I’d been forced into piano lessons – I’m so impressed by people who can play, even a bit! You can totally count on me for your soccer team, though. Just give me some notice so I can work on my cardio. 😉

Oh gosh, EVERYONE I knew who was Asian had a piano in their house. I dreaded family birthday parties because no matter where you went, there was always a piano, and at some point in the party, all the kids would have to a turn playing a song or two. I still have mental scars! I would’ve rather played soccer any old day.
