    Hi Caro,

LOL, it was really funny! Thanks, it totally cracked me up.

So sorry to hear about your hometown. Perhaps you can donate money to relief efforts… I’ve donated money to the Red Cross for disaster relief. Even though I can’t be there to help in person, it makes me feel better to know that I’m still able to help.

    Hi Aleks,

Ahh, enjoy that time a much as you can. Adult life and work come on waaaay too quickly. 🙂

Things on this end have been good. Work’s been busy (as usual), but other than that life’s been pretty steady, which I don’t mind at all. It’s actually been really hot here lately (we get an late summer in the Bay Area) so I’m enjoying the weather! Now, if only the water were warm enough to swim in!

El Hub’s doing well and Tabs is most excellent. 🙂

It was a lot of fun. There was a bit of waiting and standing around, but seeing kids’ faces light up when the saw the parade made it so enjoyable.

I am very excited about you finally getting your hands on some Cult of Cherry! You will have to let me know what you think.

Hi to you, one of my all time faves from the west coast!
J and S invited me over to their home several doors away for dinner on Sat. I brought the salad and J. made portabello ravioli for dinner. Then they came over Sunday night to my house and we had pizza with crust from Trader Joe’s with prosecco. DH bought me a specially decorated vegan birthday/retirement cake from Whole Foods. We took a picture of several cakes from the Cupcake Cafe in New York City. Check out their website. The cakes are die for. Whole Foods had a wonderful cake decorator who made the most gorgeous cake for me with pink roses, hanging wisteria and bumblebees with almond wings. And she sprinkled a little crystal sugar on the petals for extra magic. Girl, I tell you that was the best and most beautiful vegan cake that I have ever seen or eaten. After the last 21 months that I have had, I needed a celebratory moment. I am telepathically sending you a huge hunk of cake. Enjoy. You are already sweet enough. Louise in Pittsburgh

OH, and thanks for the Cupcake Cafe referral. I really love to bake and enjoy creating cake creations from scratch! When I go to NY I will have to stop by there and eat my way into a sugar coma.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
