Does It Cosmetics CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte tinted moisturizer hold the secrets of the universe?
Nah, but wouldn’t it be nice if it did, though?! I could finally figure out what the heck happened to Jon B.!
My club jam back in the day. Someone please rescue him from whatever wormhole he feel into.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 ($38 for a 1.08-oz. bottle)
The teal tube may have a summery look, but it’s something I’ll wear year round. It’s a lightweight medium-coverage tinted moisturizer that’ll have everyone around you believing you’re having a seriously sweet skin day — although, heads up, it won’t fool the frenemy who goes straight for the jugular and points out a ripe zit immediately before saying something like, “Me? Oh, I never get pimples.”
Bless her heart!
“Developed with plastic surgeons, Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte delivers color-correcting full coverage, anti-aging skincare, and SPF 40 broad-spectrum physical sunscreen—all with a poreless, natural-looking matte finish that lasts. This multitasking, complexion-perfecting breakthrough instantly camouflages skin imperfections including dark spots without creasing or cracking and is clinically tested to reduce shine and control oil for up to 12 hours. It’s also infused with charcoal to detoxify, colloidal clay to absorb oil, and tea tree extract to combat blemishes—plus, an advanced anti-aging serum made of hydrolyzed collagen, peptides, niacin, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, and antioxidants. You’ll see powerful results instantly and more dramatic results over time.
“It delivers seven benefits, all in one! Full-coverage matte foundation, SPF 40 UVA/UVB broad-spectrum physical sunscreen, brightening color corrector, hydrating anti-aging serum, poreless finish primer, dark spot concealer, and moisturizing day cream.”
Smaller pores and even tone? Yes and yes. And here’s the kicker, which takes it over le top: the matte finish totally locks down shine, and it’s just matte enough. Not too harsh.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Oil-Free Matte with SPF 40 is similar to…
- Too Faced’s Peach Perfect Comfort Matte Foundation: CC+ has a little less coverage, and a flatter matte finish.
- NARS Velvet Matte SPF 30: Similar finish, texture and coverage, but CC+ is rated for a little better sun protection at SPF 40.
- Estée Lauder Double Wear Light: Very similar. It’s thicker than Double Wear, which has a runny consistency, so it takes a little more effort to spread and blend, but coverage, finish and wear are basically the same. I like both but prefer Double Wear because it isn’t as peach. It’s yellower, which is a better fit for my skin tone.

You could easily matte it down more by dusting a powder on top, but I prefer a setting spray instead. A li’l CC+ Matte, a spritz here, a spritz there, and I’m good for the day. 🙂
❤️❤️❤️ 3 1/2 out of 5 hearts.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
I just wish they hadn’t added the snail exctract filtrate, otherwise I would be all over it based on your description.
QVC has a TSV coming up the this
I’m so trying this. You know I love a million things about you and your blog but I think it’s fab that you’re always doing these great posts that address what people talk about in the comments! 🙂 Thank you!
Thanks Karen! I’ll be trying that one soon. I liked the original CC, but it was a little too shiny for me.
I’m glad you did a review on this cuz QVC is doing a TSV tomorrow, and i was curious to try it. Question Karen about shades….I wear the medium tan in their regular CC cream and the tan shade only in the middle of summer, in your opinion are the shades similiar between the regular CC and the matte CC? I’m torn between the neutral tan and tan shades. Thnx!
Hi Maricar,
I’ve used the regular CC before and yes, the colors are similar. They both pull a little peachy on me. HTH, and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks a bunch, Karen!
Would you mind reminding me what shade you wear in the EL Double Wear Light?
Kisses and thanks!
Hi Carm,
I wear Honey Bronze, which is equivalent to NC 42 in MAC. 🙂
Heck that’s a lot of ingredients! Plus I see chamomile, so a no-go for me. Your skin looks great, although too bad it’s not yellow enough for you.
I just picked up the SuperGoop CC cream, which is sheer but I had a good color match and it seems good so far! A model I follow on Instagram with similar coloring (xoxomissdanielle) recommended it.
Perfect timing on this review! Just bought this TSV for a friend to try. Will try it but I have dry skin and might mix with regular CC. I am getting tired of the “we work with plastic surgeons” shtick.
I’m dating myself big time, but Stevie B. was my club jam. I enjoyed the Jon B video ?
Just a heads up, Estée Lauder’s doublewear light is being pulled in stores discounted and discontinued. I know because all the buzz lately on beauty blogs made want to go by it. The good news is that it’s being replaced with a broader shade range and improved formula. I think it come at the end of July. They were listening to you Karen! I still want to try the It cc one though.
Ahh I love the It Cosmetics CC Cream but the shade range is too peach/orange/warm on me. But sounds like the Estee Lauder Double Wear Light would be perfect for me. I already like the original and I think the light would be good too.
Jon B, the OG Drake.
I want to try this CC cream but I’ve been waiting for your review. Thanks for everything you do, Karen!
Haha, he totally was!
Jon B is still performing! Just at smaller venues. And yes, he still got it.
