H2O+ Beauty Milk Body Butter

H2O+ Beauty Milk Body Butter ($22 for an 8-oz. bottle)

Once upon a time, my good friend Cindy dated a boy who she ended up breaking up with because he smelled like milk, and for years after that, whenever I open a carton of milk, I thought to myself, “This smells like Cindy’s ex-boyfriend.”

I wonder if he smelled like Milk Body Butter by H2O+ Beauty, because if he did, he would have smelled hella good! 🙂

H2O+ Beauty Milk Body Butter has been in the H2O+ line for years, but it was recently re-branded. It looks different than it did when I used it in the early aughts. It was my jam one year, but I remember it smelling more milky. This version smells fresher than I remember it, and it has an herbal, lavender tinge.

It’s very cozy! I like it.

Even though it’s called a body butter, the formula is closer to a lotion. The consistency is like the Caudalie and Natura Brasil lotions I’ve been using lately, and it absorbs quickly and doesn’t make the back of my knees or the crook my elbows sticky (always a good thing). For sure, I’ll have to replace it with something richer when fall rolls around, but it’s moisturizing enough for now to prevent tumbleweeds from rollin’ through the dry desert landscape that is my shins.

H2O+ Milk Body Butter is part of the larger H2O+ Milk line that also includes a body wash and a scrub, and it’s made without mineral oil, phalates and parabens.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

He smelled like milk? And is that a bad thing? I like the scent of milk.

Your Cindy story made me laugh. It reminded me of So I Married an Axe Murderer when Charlie (Mike Myers) says he broke up with a girl because she smelled like Beef Vegetable Soup. HAHA! I’m with Cindy, though. We’re in a very rural area and the smell of the milk room at farms and cheese production factories always gags me. I like both once they’re processed but I don’t like the raw milk smell. 🙂 I think that’s probably why I would never use a milk moisturizer. Many years ago, there was quite a bit of Goat’s Milk product on store shelves and I’d just cringe every time I saw it. Totally weird, I know.

I like the smell of milk, just not on a person, lol. I’ll have to side with Cindy.

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
