My Wild & Chic Face of Today with the New Wild & Chic Best of Makeup For Ever Kit

November 10th, 2011 by Karen 48 Comments

make up for ever wild & chic (7)

Today I decided to celebrate Tabs’ recent brush with lolcat fame by way of a cat eye look using the new Wild & Chic Best of Makeup For Ever kit ($55).

Part of Make Up For Ever’s Wild & Chic collection for the holidays, the six-piece kit comes with some of MUFE’s universally flattering bestsellers for eyes, lips and faces.

Talk about a perfect kit (or pretty darn close). The pieces, all of which are easy to apply and wear, do seem like they’d be universally flattering. I just wish MUFE had found room for a blush; that would have taken the whole thing to the next level. Game, set, match.

I’ve used most of the pieces in the kit before, with the exception of the HD High Definition Primer, which is totally new to me, and I’ve gotta say — I love the way it photographs! Here I’m wearing it beneath foundation and powder, and even up close I can barely see any large pores or fine lines.

SCORE!

The entire Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Holiday 2011 collection includes…

  • Wild & Chic Eye Shadow Palette — A limited edition palette with six eye shadows, and one mini Aqua Eyes #0L Liner in Black ($39; available exclusively at Sephora inside JC Penney stores)
  • Wild & Chic Aqua Cream Premium Set — A luxurious limited edition set featuring 10 full-size Aqua Creams in winter shades, all housed in a reusable patterned clutch ($175; available at Sephora.com)
  • Wild & Chic Best of Make Up For Ever Kit — A six-piece limited edition kit with some of MUFE’s universally flattering bestsellers for eyes, lips and faces ($55; available exclusively at Sephora stores and also online)

How about you and your makeup today? What did you wear? Tabs would like to suggest a cat eye, if you haven’t worn one lately…

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Hope you had a nice day today. I’m just sitting here eating the last of Mom’s homemade apple pie and watching Popup Video. Oh, joy… 🙂

I am totally loving your look in this post! I went to the Sephora VIB event tonight and saw this kit but didn’t pick it up. Might have to go back for it tomorrow, lol.

I heart your liner. I need to work on my technique!

MUFE Smoky Lash is one of my fave mascaras.

I was never very good at liner, and I often just skipped it to avoid the hassle. But lately Ive been using the Mac fluidline gel eyeliner and the Benefit slanted liner brush, and I don’t know what it is about that brush, but I can do a killer cat eye easy-peasy with very little cleaning up or having to redo anything!! I recommend the brush a lot to people because it turned me from a shaky liner girl to a quick lining pro!

the MAC Fluidline, coupled with a good eyeliner brush are also my total bets in creating perfectly lined eyes. Plus, no excessive tugging required!

Oooh… Apple pie. À la mode? Today my makeup was simple. I’m at Disney world with my mom and some family, so I stuck with makeup I knew could handle the heat!

I loooove the HD powder! My only qualm is that now that it’s winter I’m getting some dryer spots, so if I apply it right away after I do my makeup it doesn’t seem to be as smooth as when I’m already a tiny bit oily. I am using a cheapie brush though, i probably need a better one?

Im definitely going to have to take a peek at the eyeshadow pallette you mentioned at sephora in JP. I haven’t tried them yet, but this girl at work uses MUFE, and her shadow always looks so buttery smooth and bright!

Your skin looks amazing! Do you think it’s because of the primer or the powder, though? Because whichever one it is, it’s totally worth an investment!

Such a cute look on you. I love Makeup Forever’s HD Concealer so I might just have to give this set a whirl (it’s nearly my birthday, maybe a subtle hint to my mum will be in order… hehe)

When I first tried MUFE Smoky Lash Mascara, I liked it because it lengthened my lashes better than a drugstore brand that I was using. However, when I tried Dior’s Iconic Extreme Waterproof mascara, I instantly fell in love because it volumized and lengthened my lashes like no other mascara has ever did. =)

      Hi Yelena,

That’s the eyeliner. I smudged it in the outer corner for a slightly smokey effect.

Apart from the blush (Becca), foundation (MAC Studio Sculpt) and brows (Anastasia) everything is from the kit. 🙂

This is a fantastic set–all the products are awesome! I agree, the addition of a blush–perhaps the HD gel blushes would make it Super Awesome LOL! Still a great kit and a wonderful intro to MUFE which I love!!
