A Guerlain Belle de Nuit Face of the Day

September 15th, 2011 by Karen 33 Comments

I woke up in a playful mood this morning, so after a few minutes chasing Tabs around the house, I reached for a few pieces from the upcoming Guerlain Belle de Nuit holiday collection and sat down to do my makeup.

From left to right: Parure de Nuit Pressed Powder & Blush ($67), Rouge Automatique Lipstick in Nuit d’Amour ($35) and Les Ombres de Nuit 4-Colour Palette ($59)

That quad? Flawless. I’ll post collection reviews soon, but I couldn’t wait to show you pics of the quad in action.

How are things in your neck of the woods, and what did you do for your makeup today?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I can’t believe Guerlain’s holiday is coming out soon. I was just enjoying my summer too. =( I guess summer is really over, but xmas is just around the corner. =)

Your eye makeup matches your necklace! Genius. 🙂

Today, I’m still bare-faced, but I was thinking of going burgundy and black in the eye shadow department. But that’s for later.

I love that lipstick you’re wearing!

A fun fact: The boyfriend walked by and saw your picture on my laptop (I was of course on your blog reading the latest beauty info). He looks and says, “Wow, she’s pretty! Is she a model?” 😀

I hope that brightens your day even more. 🙂

Yes, school has been massively challenging and fun. I have to teach a class in November! Nerve-wracking!

The lipstick is much more wearable than I was anticipating. It looks so scary in the tube!

Dude, it looks MAD SCARY in the tube! You can make it look even more wearable by lightly dabbing it on the lips — it adds just a touch of color, so that it looks like a stain. 🙂

The colors in the quad are not me, but they are totally you! You look fabulous! 🙂 And I just have to say that I love the peacock-feather blush pattern.

I am same old, same old in the makeup dept today. It’s the Hubs’ and my 10 year wedding anniversary today but he’s out of town for another week and a half or so. That was just a random statement; no relation to the makeup. 🙂

Thanks! 🙂 This is so lame, but I got us a recharging station from Pottery Barn because we need to organize our phones/cameras/iPods. Romantic, huh? We decided that we’d bring the boys to Disney this year (and my bffs and I have a big 40th b’day bash planned for ourselves in November) so we’re foregoing any big celebrations for our anniversary. Truth be told, we’re terrible at even remembering it usually. We usually take Friday nights to watch a movie and have a few glasses of wine, so it’ll probably be just something low-key like that. 🙂

I told him for our 15th that we were going to drive the PCH and then fly to Hawaii for a week. And I want one of those beautiful Tiffany anniversary bands, with the diamonds all around. We’ll see how that goes! HAHAHA!

You look so romantic! I’m picturing you in a gauzy, flowy dress standing next to an open french window on a warm night, breathing in the scent of night-blooming jasmine! 🙂

I’m wearing MAC Perky paint pot with Burberry Rosewood shadow in the crease to highlight the fabulous Le Metier de Beaute liquid liner in Artemis! Black mascara and blush (Chanel Narcisse) round out the look. I’ve tried three lip looks with it so far, and I like them all so I can’t decide! 🙂

Ooh, I wish. Instead I’ve been chasing a husky tabby around my messy house in jeans and a tank top, LOL!

Your look sounds super pretty! Funny that you mention Perky — I was just looking at it today thinking that I need to take it out more often and give it more lovin’. What lip color did you end up going with?

Lovely! None of these are my kind of colours unfortunately, but I love the collection just because Vol de Nuit (the book that inspired the Guerlain perfume which inspired this collection) is one of my very favourite stories and close to my heart. Still waiting to see what the other fall lipstick looks like!

    SO GORGEOUS!
I was boring with my makeup today, because I wanted it to be easy to redo it (at work of course lol) before I go out tonight. I am really liking this Too Faced blush im wearing that I got from their vintage sale, La Vie En Rose, very pretty, takes a little bit to build it up but I like the pink color, I really needed a good pink blush!

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
