I Can’t Believe I’ve Never Tried Dior ‘Diorshow Mono’ Eyeshadow

Kicking myself for not trying these Dior eyeshadows sooner!

As much as I love Dior, I can’t believe I never tried the Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows before now!

I mean, I haven’t been totally living under a rock, because I do have an eyeshadow palette or two, and I LOVE the sparkly Diorshow Fusion Mono Eyeshadows. And I’m also a fan of Dior foundations and brow products, and these nail polishes look amazing, so I really have no excuse for not trying them sooner.

This spring Dior released nine new shades of their $29.50 Diorshow eyeshadow, and here are four of my favorites from the line: Gallery, a soft champagne gold with a satin/shimmer finish; Minimalism, a grayish taupe with a satin finish; Atmosphere, a cool-toned purple with a satin finish; and Power, a rich plum with a satin finish.

Here are two sets of swatches in different lighting:

These eyeshadows look pretty standard in their pans, but get them on your skin in the sun? Wow! They’re more complex than they seem, and there’s a really pretty (but subtle) shimmer running throughout. I think they’re great if you like matte shadows but want ones that won’t look so flat. I’m really surprised by how beautiful these eyeshadows are. If you’ve wondered about them, definitely take a look in a store! I don’t think that pictures online can do them justice.

The re-vamped eyeshadows are so smooth and pigmented

Oh, and since we’re talking about Dior, how do you feel about Diorshow mascara? I remember when it first came out years ago, and EVERYONE was obsessed. I since moved on to Too Faced Better Than Sex, but then I heard that Dior recently reformulated Diorshow, enriching it with microfibers for that false lash effect. They came out earlier this spring in four limited edition shades — Pro Mahogany #778, Pro Magenta #868, Pro Navy #288 and Pro Anthracite #088. Here’s a look at Pro Navy and Pro Anthracite.

Limited edition Diorshow mascara in Pro Anthracite and Pro Navy

Both of them give you more of a subtle effect, with Anthracite being an off-black color that’s great if you want a natural eye look, whereas Pro Navy is a really pretty navy that shows up well in sunlight, but the color’s less noticeable in other types of light.

I love the wand they come with because it applies without clumping, but I can’t say that I’ve been blown away by the new formula. It definitely darkens my lashes and keeps them separated, but I don’t notice any major lengthening. I don’t know… Maybe I’ll change my mind after a few more uses.

The packaging is so classy and luxe!

Here I’m wearing Diorshow Mono Eyeshadow in Minimalism over my lids, and Atmosphere along my lower lash line. And then that’s Diorshow Mascara in Pro Navy gracing my lashes.

For the rest of my makeup, I’m wearing Pur Hydrafluid Water Serum Foundation in Tan with a little Dior Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation in 040 for extra coverage // Becca Luminous Blush in Foxglove (review + swatches coming soon) // Colourpop Cosmetics Ultra Satin Lip in Spritz (review + swatches in this post) topped with NARS lipgloss in Tiber in the bottom picture.

Do you like the Diorshow Mono Eyeshadows, and have you tried the new Diorshow Mascara? I’d love to here your thoughts!

I can at least say I have barely tried any Dior makeup, be it shadow or mascara. I think I tried a top coat once.

I think Lisa Eldridge once mentioned that she loves Dior eyeshadow. I will have to remember to swatch these in store next time I am in the city.

Definitely do a swatch or two. I think the formula is really nice but when I see pictures online they don’t show how pretty the shadows really are!

I’m really not a single eyeshadow girl by nature. I just lose them! I’m so freakin’ clumsy. But MAN. That purple. It’s calling my name! Beautiful swatches!

I feel the same way! With so many beautiful palettes around I usually don’t buy single shades either. But these colors are so pretty!

I’ve only tried a Dior primer and two nail lacquers but that is it… So yeah, still a semi-Dior virgin here!

They’re lovely. But still very expensive for what they are/how well they last.

I thought that these mono shadows are a new formulation for Dior. I dipped my finger into the tester when I was passing through my local Nordstrom and thought the texture was really nice. Didn’t have time to sit down and properly try them out though. Minimalism and Atmosphere are very pretty on you.
I used to love Diorshow mascara, but haven’t tried the new formula because I hear it is wetter and I like a dry mascara. (I’m weird that way).

I think you’re right about these being a new formula. The texture and color payoff are great! I actually found these mascaras more dry although I think the classic Dior show is more wet.
