Pedicure Me with Essie Art of Spring

Published in: Nails

Heya, ladies. 🙂 It’s official: we defeated Wednesday, WOOT! And to celebrate our victory, I plan to enjoy a glass of wine while I watch Burn Notice and paint my shaved toes with one of the colors from Essie’s new Art of Spring collection.

Can you help me decide which color to use ?

I’m leaning toward Red Nouveau, but I’m open to suggestions. 🙂

So how’s it going tonight? What are you up to?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. I’m sorry you East Coasters are getting pummeled by heavy snow (hang in there!), but if you happen to be near Broadway in NYC on Friday between Broome and Spring Streets, keep a look out for the Benefit CupcakeStop truck. To celebrate the launch of Sugarbomb (their new boxed blush), Benefit will be selling special Sugarbomb cupcakes made for the occasion. Oh, and the first 300 Sugarbomb cupcake customers also get a free Benefit Sugarbomb Blush ($28 value)! The sale starts at 9 a.m.

    I like Tart Deco, myself.

Yay for making it past hump day!

  2. MzMelanie says:

I like the lilac/lavender looks but I am partial to purples and pinks so I’m biased.

  3. marisol says:

Since Valentine’s Day is coming up, I vote for Red Nouveau. Any plans with El Hub?

I worked a half day & had an early dinner with a friend. Drinks were a must so I am feeling no pain. One more day of work and then I have a 4 day weekend. Woot woot!

We’re going up to Napa! 🙂

What are your plans for your looooong weekend? I hope they involve wearing your new Viva Glams out to someplace fab!

        How fun! Wine tasting? 🙂

Tomorrow I am meeting friends for lunch and then happy hour later on. Most of the weekend I will spend doing some early spring cleaning. working on resume and reading. I also got to get my documents in order to start doing my taxes. I may have to go to an accountant this year. Bleh… the good ole days of the 1040-EZ are long gone.

I did try the Gaga lipstick today. My lips are too pigmented so I used a base and then applied the lipstick. Better color payoff and I liked how it looked. I added a shimmery gloss and then really liked it.

I bought Van D’Go and loved the colour so much but … the application was TERRIBLE. I just could not get it right – so much that I returned it to Ulta. If you can get the application better than I can.. I say go for Van D’Go!

    • Steph B says:

Same here. I thought the formula was horrible. I usually love Essie but I don’t know what was up with this polish. I would love one of their sheers in this sort of melon though.

    • Karen says:

You guys, a few in this batch were very challenging. Patience (which I don’t always have) seemed to be a virtue in applying both Van D’Go and Tarte Deco.

The reds, purples and pinks applied like a dream, though!

  5. Perry says:

I am so glad you swatched them! I really liked Tart Deco from the images on the Essie website but now I’m feeling for Van D’Go. Go with Van D’Go!

  6. Michele DiCola says:

    Tart deco- defiantly

I’m wearing Neo Whimsical on my fingers right now! It’s a pretty color (I wish it wasn’t so streaky, though) and I wanted it to be more purple…so Van D’Go! This weekend, I might have to go back and pick that one up. Plus, I love van Gogh, so it’s probably a win-win.

  10. Sarah says:

For a watching a show that takes place in Miami, I’d say Tart Deco or Red Nouveau!

Those are super cute colors! I really like this collection, although I’ve been steering away from pretty and going more towards Rouge Noir or the new purple by Nars!

  11. amy says:

Tarte Deco is so cute and tart looking :)!

  18. NINA says:

Tart Deco I love you! 😛

  19. Frances says:

I vote for lilacism. It’s a little more unexpected for a pedicure.

  20. Jenna says:

ooh I tried them on at Ulta the other day and I love how Neo Whimsical looked against my skin. Did you see the mini 4 pack version of their spring colors?

  21. YJ says:

Gah! I’m trying to go au naturale with my nails, but it’s SO HARD when they keep coming out with pretty polishes =(

  22. Tart Deco is my favorite of these! It’s the only one I’m considering getting actually. The other I think are pretty dupeable and I probably have polishes just like them already!

  23. Anna says:

Oh wow, I have been waiting for you to post swatches of all the Essie colors so I can finally justify going and ordering a bunch off Ulta. Thanks so much. =)
I’m really into the Lilacism, but if you’re going for toes, and seeing as it’s still snowing here in the Chicago area, go for the RED. va voom!

  24. Shannon says:

I love tart deco! It looks so good with your skin tone on your hand! I just got candy apple mint by essie and while it is not a pink or lavender shade, it is still a spring shade to me!! I know it was a winter ‘trend’ the mint nails, but it could easily be an easter shade!!

  25. lexi says:

Aw man….NYC gets all the cool stuff!

My vote is for Tart Deco….it’s super cute!

  26. Marce says:

  28. Trisha says:

I really like that Neo Whimsical. I’ve been falling for almost-white nail polishes lately. It’s a trend I admire but haven’t jumped on the wagon for yet.

  29. Katie & Zena says:

I’m convinced Lilacism looks good only on darker skintones. I’d pick the polish you feel most romantic and girly in.

Tonight, it’s time to break down on my homework. Lazy and Pain have been my middle names the past week. I missed Tuesday and Wednesday so I SHOULD have been working on my homework, but I didn’t. Oops.

  30. Emma says:

    I vote for tart deco!

  31. Lisa S. says:

    Tarte Deco!

  32. Jaime says:

I NEED lilacism! what a gorgeous spring colour. btw, your swatches are always so accurate, thanks so much!

neo-whimsical seems a lot like essie’s fiji? the same stark milky pink i presume?

  33. DoDe says:

Tart Deco would be nice. I have it at home. pretty color but goopy formula.

  34. Meg says:

Ummm…they all look great! Even the lilac is loooovely. A perfect pastel without being chalky. I think I will splurge on the Red Nouveau and Tart Deco though I would not mind having this whole collection! I could maybe skip pop-art pink.

I really drawn to Tart Deco. It looks so fresh!
