The Year in Review: 10 More of My Favorite Products of 2011

December 29th, 2011 by Karen 9 Comments

10 of my favorite beauty products of 2011

I was writing in my journal this morning about how we’re about to end another year, and I just can’t believe it… I know that everyone says, “Where does the time go?” but I’m serious — what the heck happened to 2011?

Remember when you were a kid and every day felt like an endless stretch of open highway with no end in sight? Years back, one of my co-workers said to me, “Karen, time passes faster the older you get.” I didn’t see it then, but dang! I sure do now.

Well, at least you and I had beauty to brighten our lives this year. 🙂

Continuing with our Year in Review, here are 10 of my favorite products (and in one case, combinations of products) of 2011. All of them are things that by virtue of winning my heart also worked their way into my regular rotation.

What would you say were some of your favorite makeup and beauty products of the year? Beyond that, how about your favorite products of 2011 in general, beauty and otherwise?

I know what you mean about time passing faster when you’re older. I’m going to be 27 soon. Eeek!

I love NARS Outremer too, and the MAC Pro Longwear shadows are threatening to steal away more of my money. 😛

The Dolce & Gabbana Fusion Lipstick in red and the light pink are gorgeous!

And now, I wish could still find the D&G Platinum nail polish.

I have been trying to fill out a list of my Top 10 Beauties of 2011 but I can’t seem to find 10 of them. I can only come out with 9 so far, and MAC Pro Longwear eyeshadows are 1 of them, too. 🙂

Hahaha, go drag or go home! Exactly what I think about eyelashes!

I’m really curious about Cha Cha Tint (coral is YUM), but I’ve never used a liquid blush before and I’m just not sure if I can handle that!

Enjoyed your favorites post I’ve been obsessed with Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Blushes. I love the texture and pigmentation. Another favorite would have to be Urban Decay’s 15 Year Anniversary palette. I think I reach for that one the most out of all my palettes.

Happy New Year Karen! I agree with you about this year going by so fast. My husband and I had our second child, our daughter, three weeks before the start of 2011. Now that we have our two very young children, 2011 felt sort of like a whirlwind.

2011 was a great year beauty wise. Most importantly, I discovered your blog as well as some great products. I discovered the Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner pencils, Dior Blackout and Extase Mascaras, and Makeup for Ever’s Mat Velvet + Foundation. 😀

Happy New Year, Karen! Thanks for making MBB such fun to read. Your recommendations have been spot-on, but it’s all the other stuff in between that really makes your blog come alive! You give so much to your readers and the love is truly felt. Keep up the great work! <3

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my two-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my cat (Tabs).
