Why the Newest Tarteist Blush Palette Is a Work of Art

May 4th, 2016 by Anna Oh 18 Comments

If you’re not interested in saving money, Tarte’s newest blush palette won’t be for you.

But for the rest of us, it’s an amazing product worthy of our makeup-loving interest. The limited edition Tarteist Blush Palette ($38) has four pretty, feminine blushes in small, smart packaging, and with the words, “The Blush Authority,” confidently emblazoned across the mirror, Tarte already knows it’s everything you’ve (probably) been wishing for.

Blushes are my favorite product to collect and invest in (hello, Tom Ford!), and this blush palette gets a special place in my vanity for the following reasons:

  • It lasts all day! — or, at least through the 8-hour work day.
  • There’s a color for every occasion — bright coral, shimmery pink, neutral rose, and a cool pink too.
  • For $38, you get 18 grams of product. For reference, a single full-sized Tarte blush gets you 5.6 grams for $28.
  • Lovely package design with a thick plastic case and a mirror.
  • The rectangular pans are conveniently shaped to fit large or small powder brushes.
  • The highly pigmented formula and soft texture means that it takes little to no time to apply them onto the cheeks. The very pale among us will have to use a lighter hand, but the palette will work for a wide spectrum of skin tones.
  • It’s super duper travel friendly.

Tarte releases themed palettes (like their Holiday collections) all the time, but something about this sleek blush-only palette really feels right. I’d love to see a neutral beige or plum palette in the same fashion (just in case somebody at Tarte happens to be reading!).

It’s $38 and available at Sephora, Tarte, and Macys.

See you in the next!

And that’s the moment when I hate Sephora for not stocking Tarte in Mexico. That palette is amazing.

I’ve been considering getting this one. I just tend to prefer all shimmer or satin finish blushes so the more matte shades have been concerning. They don’t look too flat though.

I wanted to get on Tarte’s website during their recent Friends & Family sale but it was sold out before I had a chance!

Love the swatches and it looks so pretty on you! I have been wanting to try Tarte for a while, so I picked up the Sephora Black Friday special with mascara and blush. It is VERY pigmented, and I’m very fair, so I have to use a fan brush and a light hand, but it does last all day long! My go-to blush is usually Bobbi Brown Desert Pink or Coral Sugar, but I think I might expand my horizons 🙂

I am someone who likes to “swirl away” in my bronzers and blushes, but I really do have to shake off a lot of this product before I apply. This baby is PIGMENTED!

Love the sleek packaging and I like that the names are written on the palette. So convenient and travel friendly!

I agree with you. I LOVE this blush palette. The blushes actually felt creamy, and I’ve never said that about Tarte blushes before. I’ve always loved Tarte blushes, but the texture was never this good before.

I have swatched a few blushes here and there, but they never felt consisten across the board. But these 4 are def on the creamier side. Love swirling my brush in there haha! Thank you for the comment 🙂

This is a really lovely palette. Nice wearable colours, it looks great on you! Tarte is a real pain to get hold of in the UK, but I’ll make special effort for this!

Looks very pretty. I hope to try a Tarte blush soon. The formula and texture sound so lovely. As for these particular shades, while I think they look really nice I prefer a bit less pinky pink and bit more peach and coral for myself.

I LOVE Tarte blushes and these colors are beautiful! But I’d love to see darker colors in this palette. I agree, it is a great deal, though!

I would be ALL OVER a neutral/plum themed palette!! I like the two central pans, and the shimmery one is a nice touch since all of tarte’s blushes (I think?) are matte! (at least all the ones I’ve come in contact with? hmm, I’m questioning my memory…
I’m not a fan of the other two, though, so I can’t bring myself to buy it. I’m really not a coral person, especially when it’s a matte coral so bright I would need a craaazy light hand to use!
If they swapped the outer two for a nice plummy mauve and an almost-brownish neutral nude, I’d be in love! 🙂

Crossing my fingers! I’m usually not into pink or cool pink colors either, but I made an exception for this pretty little palette 🙂

OMG Anna I saw this in Ulta the other day, and I tried swatching them. Very promising. I like the names that were given for each one. And I also like the idea that Tarte doesn’t use all those supposedly harsh chemicals that you’re supposed to stay away from. I agree with you that maybe a neutral beige would have been a nice addition.

I am sucker for powder palettes, so my heart stopped when I saw this as well!

It’s good to hear that the blush lasts through an 8 hour day. I LOVE blush but always seem to have a problem with it fading throughout the day no matter what type of primer or setting spray I have used!
I’ll definitely check this out! Thanks for the post!
