Sunscreens in My Beach Bag

July 19th, 2013 by Karen 7 Comments

What's in my beach bag today!
What’s in your beach bag?

Cowabunga, dude!

Hopefully I’m catching a righteous wave right now (but probably not, LOL!) and NOT worrying about my skincare, because I packed a bunch of different SPF products before the trip.

Since Cindy is notoriously low maintenance when it comes to makeup and stuff (she’s like the yin to my yang, for real), whenever we travel together, I’m usually the Charles in Charge of our skincare and beauty.

She always makes fun of me for bringing too much stuff wherever we go, but whatevs! You know me. I like having choices. 🙂

I’ve got several sun protectants from Neutrogena in my beach bag today, some of which I’m testing, and others, like the MoistureShine Lip Soothers, I know and love.

Neutrgoena Beach Defense Water + Sun Barrier Lotion

Neutrogena Ultimate Sport Sunscree SPF 70, $10.99

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Body Mist Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 70

And for when we’re out of the water and just chillin’ on the sand, Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes in Pink Grapefruit (I love how these smell!), perfect for wiping the salt from your face, and those MoistureShine Lip Soothers, my favorite glosses to bring to the beach.

Just as a heads-up/warning, but if you expect to be out on the water in La Jolla today, I’m the girl in the black and blue wetsuit trying to not crash into you. 🙂

OH, HAI!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Hey Karen, hope you’re enjoying your weekend. What do you think of those sunscreens? I’m pretty fair skinned and burn easily before tanning and I haven’t had luck finding one lately that I like. I hate how oily most are.

You look so cute in your wetsuit!

My go-to sunscreen for my face is CeraVe SPF 50, and I also have a little twist up stick of sunscreen by CeraVe too. The spray version is nice, but a little pricey, so right now I have a NO-AD kids spray sunscreen, since I went to the water park.

Oh wow! Really looking forward to the review on these bc I need a sunscreen for when I work out. The current one I have takes forever to rub in…

Neutrogena Ultimate Sport is my favorite sunscreen of the moment. It’s the only one I have found that doesn’t make my foundation look weird. And it was actually my dental hygienist who recommended it to me haha.

Sunscreen is a wonderful invention. Higher SPF the better.

    Have fun in La Jolla!

Your wetsuit looks creeper and pee free – both good things. 🙂 I’m so grateful to whomever invented spray-on sunscreen. It’s one of my favorite things, ever!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
