Hi everyone!
The other day I was having coffee with a few girlfriends — probably the BEST time to get makeup inspiration — and I fell in love with one of my friends’ pretty glittery eyeliner. I tried it out myself and found it to be an awesome way to pull off a little glitter during the day. I call it a “weekday glitter” look, and I hope you’ll be into it as much as I’ve been!
One of the key components to this look is nice and even skin tone. I used the new Shiseido Synchro Skin Foundation ($45 for 1oz) in a custom mixture of Golden 2 and Neutral 3. The foundation comes in Golden, Neutral, and Rose undertones ranging between 1 and 5. For some reason, the range isn’t complete, but we will probably find more colors coming with demand.

Here’s an eerily close capture of my skin. 🙂 As you can see, it enhanced texture in certain areas, but it looked better and better as the day went on. In fact, it’s super long-lasting like the name suggests! It didn’t feel oil-free though, and I had to really work the foundation in with a good buffing brush to make any texture and streaks disappear. I’m on the fence at this point, but this foundation has become a holy grail for some of you out there because it has 5 stars on Sephora.

On to the fun part! I used a warm brown matte eyeshadow to enhance my petite eyelids (my best tip for opening up the eyes) and drew a thick black line with gel eyeliner. I grabbed the MAC Amberluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Palette ($32) and patted it all over the liner. This is a handy little palette for the serious glitter fans. There’s a nice range of colors with some amazing texture and shine. The 4th shade is basically pressed glitter and was the best option to preserve the strong black line. To finish the look, pop a bright blush onto the apple of the cheeks.
There you go! That was too easy right?
Shiseido Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation is new for spring 2016 and permanent at Shiseido and all Shiseido counters (Sephora, Saks, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Macys).
The MAC Amberluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow Palette is permanent at MAC, Nordstrom, and Macy’s.
See you in the next!
Anna
A foundation that looks BETTER as the day goes on? Doesn’t happen very often, at least not in my experience! 🙂 I also really like your eye look here.
I know right! I’ve never used this type of formula (my initial reaction was panic) but it slowly melted into the skin as the day went by. Really interesting and worth a sample. Also thank you 🙂
I’m definitely going to check this foundation out! I’m always looking for something with a formula similar to this and I really like how the finish looks!

This was my first timing using this formula so it took me a few days to get used to it but the long-lasting + non-drying texture are big hits in my book.
A foundation that gets better a the day progresses :-O
Your skin look flawless and fresh in the last pic and love how natural your look is 🙂

The foundation doesn’t sound right for me, but the daytime glitter looks amazing.

I really look forward to each of your posts, as I enjoy your illustrations very much. Wish I could draw as well as you! Love this look, too. I’ve been meaning to try this foundation so I appreciate the quick review.
T_T Thank you Tatiana!!! Also hope you enjoy the foundation if you try it out!
I LOVE your sketches! You’re just great! I like that glitter eyeliner look, too.
Thank you, so sweet of you to say 🙂
Yeah, your sketches are awesome! I like the eye look. What a great idea! I actually never tried adding glitter on top of eyeliner. I usually just buy the glitter liners. I am going to try this technique.
Thank you!
There is flexibility with this method because you can choose what kind of glitter and where you want it too
I’m not sure my local Nordstrom has a Shiseido counter. I know my Sephora only carries a bit of their skincare. I’m happy to see a rose line, hopefully it won’t be too pink! Normally, their foundations are too yellow for me.

Thank ya Chris!
Once you again, you had me at your illustrations! Such an artist & very gifted. Lovely subtle eye look. Thanks for the glitter shadow on top of eyeliner tip. Really neat way to have as many glitter liner looks as I’d like, without the investment of purchasing so many glitter liners 🙂
Love thus idea. I have several of the L’Oréal Infallible shadows that are quite sparkly and really want to try this. It seems a shame to only wear them on my all too infrequent nights out!
