Revlon ColorStay™ Crème Eye Shadow Kicked Me Into #makeuphoarders Mode

Revlon Colorstay™ Crème Eye Shadow

Girl, the struggle is so real. These Revlon ColorStay™ Crème Eyeshadows kicked me into #makeuphoarders mode real quick because they look, feel and blend A LOT like MAC Paint Pots. On my lids (which are dry), they last all day long, too. And they’re only $7.99, WHAT?!

Revlon even hid a brush in the cap, which I really don’t use…but I like that it’s there. It’s very James Bond.

From the top: 705, 710, 740, 755 and 760

I’m wearing 710 all over my lids and 205 in the center of my lids and lower lash line

So, these are cool, especially for fast, sheer layers of color and shimmer. They come in 12 colors, and I’ve tried a handful of them so far.

They’re sheer.

SHEER.

Let me say that one more time ’cause it’s important. SHEER!

Compared to similar cream shadows from more expensive lines, like the ones from MAC and Benefit, these are less pigmented; that’s for sure. I’d say they’re about half as pigmented, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all in this case.

I mean, these are best for quick washes of shimmer and color. That’s what they’re for, and they’re great for that. When all you want is a little (affordable) shimmer and glow, they’re perfect.

I’ll use them for quickie looks and apply and blend them with my fingers on my lids. Then I’ll curl my lashes, whack on some mascara, and that’s it.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

How do they compare to the Maybelline color tattoos? Similar?

Someone on YouTube just reviewed these and I was intrigued. I think this will be perfect for summer! I actually like that they’re more sheer. Gives you some sparkle without being over the top disco glitter!

I use the Caramel one (I think it’s 710) all the time! Perfect for minimalist makeup looks, which is what I do a lot of the time. I have to use a primer with it because my eyelids just crease everything, but it’s still great.

I like 705 and 710. I’m always drawn to colors like that. These would be pretty for a quick summer look.

They seem great for summer – and the hidden brush is a very neat touch!

Hooray! I am so glad you posted this because the first time you posted that picture of your eyes I absolutely feel in love with how those colors looked on you and now I can try it out for the price of two pots. 705 and 710 will be mine! Thank you!

Between these and the falsies you just posted about, you are speaking my language!! CVS should give you a paycheck for what you’ve done to me. 705 has my name on it. Because it’s sheer I bet it’d look so nice on the inner corner!

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
