R+Co Control Flexible Paste for Styles That Hold Tight But Never Feel Stiff

r and co control review
R+Co CONTROL Flexible Paste, taming unruly baby hairs one strand at a time

Why are those tiny little hairs along the edge of your hairline called baby hairs? Is it because they’re cute and cuddly and adorable? Naaaaaw, girl. I think they’re called baby hairs because they’re unruly. OK? You can’t control them, they’re unpredictable, and, at any given moment, riiight when you think you have the situation under control, BAM! — they go bananas. HAHA! At least my baby hairs (and my baby) do.

I have a mega crop of baby hairs where my bangs part in the front, and I don’t know about yours, but mine are all uneven and at weird lengths, and — yay, lucky me! — they stick up and out at jarring angles, so I walk around lookin’ like I’ve just been electrocuted.

Girl, if there’s no product in them, I look CRAY, but this new hair styling product by R+Co called Control ($27) really helps. I’ve been using it for a week, and now I’m like ROUGE BABY NO LONGER RUN SH*T HERE.

Control is a soft, waxy styling paste with a semi-matte finish, and it grabs, holds and keeps flyaway hairs in place. It’s strong, but it’s not ’80s-style hairbear stiff, so my bangs can still move and don’t look heavy and greasy.

These days, my numero uno #hairgoal is for my mop to look casual, like IDGAF. Sure, I might’ve fussed over this hair, but nobody needs to know, LOL! In other words, I want the antithesis of prom/beauty pageant hair. Nothing overly lacquered or styled.

Baby hairs say WASSSSSUP

What baby hairs? Um, please excuse the rand-o white hairs… I’m between coloring appointments and apparently couldn’t be bothered to use Rita Hazan Root Concealer.

R+Co Control, like most R+Co styling products, excels at creating effortless looks.

Here’s how I use it: after I style my hair and part my bangs in the front, I take a little bit of the paste, rub it between my fingers for about 30 seconds to warm it up, and then I work that into my roots, grabbing the tiniest of the tiny baby hairs. Next, I sweep what remains on my fingers over the top of my bangs, smoothing down the flyaways. When I’m done, everything’s smooth and under control.

If, at that point, there are any short, stubborn hairs still popping out (which always seems to happen, no matter what), I take a toothbrush (one that I obviously don’t use on my teeth!), spray the bristles with hair spray, then use that to comb down the remaining stray hairs.

Give this stuff a whirl! It’s great. You can find it at salons that sell R+Co, randco.com and SpaceNK stores.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I always figured they wer called baby hairs because you get so many of them after you had a baby and all the hair seems to fall out at once.

This might be a great thing for my husband too, he doesn’t like stiff pastes but his hair is a bit wild at times.

Baby hairs are the worst! I’ll have to try something like this.

I almost had to zoom in to see any white hair. 🙂 But, Woman, please stop making me want to buy R+Co stuff! It’s too expensive and I don’t need it. HAHA! Luckily, we of the fine hair don’t have much to worry about in the baby hair department. Actually, I have to work to get some volume at the roots, so I’d probably welcome them.

Haha, I’ll try but I can’t guarantee that. There’s actually a product that I’m testing that you might like. It’s called Jackpot and it’s for volume. I saw a video of one of the R+Co stylists using it on this gal with a bob and her hair just kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger, and I all I could think of was OMG I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE. 😀

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
