I dreamed about makeup too, only it was Chanel lipglosses! I woke up thinking of your “When I dream of makeup it looks like this” post a few months back! 🙂 Happy Friday to you too! I hope your Saturday goes well!!!

Hi Karen! I’m new to your site and love it!

    Is the song “Two Occasions”?…

I wish my Mi’Lady still looked like that. My newborn MES (not even a week old) fell off the counter and is in pieces *tear*

Anyhow, keep up the good job and have a great weekend.

OHHH Glosslizard! I met one of my Chanel goals and I’m gonna get a lipgloss this afternoon at the mall! What do you suggest?

PS. Eating TJ’s veggie samosas right now…

Hi Mrs. Lynne! I just popped by your site and your MES looks so sad! How tragic. 🙁

Which island are you from? My hub’s fam is on Oahu. We were just there in July. 🙂

Uh… hello?! Two Occasions by The Deele! It’s so old school, I love it! I wish music could be groovy like that again.. I have “Shawty is a Ten!” stuck in my head right now… Hopefully you post today will inspire me to get stuck on something else 😀

OMG, I have a love/hate relationship with Shawty is a Ten. I was in the car with El Hub listening to it the other day and he had never heard it before. During the part where the guy goes “You should tip her … you should tip her!,” El Hub totally thought they were singing about their waitress at a diner, HA HA HA!

Hee hee! I just finished the black bean and corn enchilada! First time trying it, it was pretty good, but needed sour cream (doesn’t everything?).

I have the glossimer in Sundress which I adore! It looks pinker in the tube than on the lips, and goes on a glorious undressed sheer nude with a hint of shimmer. It is perfect for dressing up any lippie! If you’ve been REALLY good… cave on one of the mini-glossimer trios! I’m in lust with the Les Roses collection, but Les Soleils looks great too! None of the colors are exclusive to the set though, so don’t fret too much if it doesn’t happen in the now! Have fun! I will get my vicarious Chanel thrills through you! 🙂

Thanks for introducing yourself! It’s great to meet ya.

I’m sooo feeling the Babyface today! Two Occasions, Whip Appeal (!). Next up … some Stevie B. jams.

Hope to see you back soon, girl! Have a good Friday and weekend.

@ Mrs. Lynne, grind that stuff up and use it as a blush… Layer with a pink mineralized skinfinish (MSF). You will be super hot stuff.

Has anyone figured out how to use Engaging? It looked so lovely in the store, but now it is “blah” to me.

Karen, have we rectified our storage issue?

Hi Karen! I’m actually from the bay area but my husband and I moved to Oahu in 2005. Funny! We were just in CA in July.

Apple Diva: THANK YOU so much for the tip! I did save the larger chunks so I’m definitely going to store that in another container and use for blush. I should have picked up the pieces with paper because then I could have salvaged more but I was so heartbroken, I couldn’t think straight.

Okay… The song Two Occasions was written by Babyface and a few other guys…and performed by the Deele…which is a group that Babyface was in…along with L.A. Reid and 4 other guys. Eventually Babyface released the song on his own, but he also sings on the orginal version as part of the Deele. BTW I totally love babyface

Anyway all that reminded me that on Monday I was driving home and I heard on the radio that Tevin Campbell turned 31…and thought…NO WAY!!! All I can say is… “Can we talk for a minute, Girl I want to know your name.” I totally still have a Tevin Campbell CD…LOL

    So Glosslizard,

I didn’t get my Glossimer. Hear me out tho … I went in, saw the UBER PALETTE (the $85.00 one, OY!) and then decided to keep on pushing myself so that I can get that big reward when I reach all of my goals for the next two weeks.

Apple Diva, you’re going to laugh but now it is ten times worse than it was before. It’s all over the place: in the living room, in the dining room/office … El Hub suggested getting a makeup hutch (you know, one of those big pieces of furniture usually devoted to large electronic equipment or fine china?) and I think he was *totally serious*. So I might just end up getting a big ole makeup hutch. It defeats the purpose somewhat though, because then I’ll just feel compelled to fill it to the brim with lots of cool stuff 😀

    Hi Mrs. Lynne,

Oh that’s cool! I grew up in the East Bay and have lived here practically all my life. 🙂

My hub wants to move back to Hawaii someday. We talk about it sometimes but it will really depend on careers (aka, where this blog goes!) and what happens to the bay area housing market.

Do you like living on Oahu? Do you ever get island fever?

I absolutely LOVE LOVE it here. The weather is great, the people are warm-hearted… but sadly, the cost of living is just like being back in the bay area. And unfortunately, jobs here are unable to compensate for the cost of living which makes it challenging to stay afloat if you’re just starting out. My husband and I are actually planning to relocate our family in a couple years.

As far as island fever, I personally am okay being away from everything but I wish we had a lot of the mainland shops/restaurants: Target, Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, Erik’s Deli… I can go on and on.

Hey Mrs. Lynne! Aren’t you a sweetie. 🙂

Now I’m hungry, ahhhh! My hub and I recently found a Hawaii BBQ place in Marin, and although the kalua pork and cabbage is pretty good it’s not as good as my mom-in-laws, and they don’t give you enough rice (sacrilage!).

And I hear ya on the overcast and showers! It’s supposed to rain sometime this week, boo!

I hope you have a good week and that none of your makeup breaks! 😉

Mmm… speaking of food, I’m now hungry for some meat jun. Have you tried? Oh, I know what I’m having for lunch tomorrow!! And speaking of makeup breaking, I just bought another MES (Earthly Riches). I hope (and pray) it doesn’t end up like its sister Mi’Lady. I’m even more anal-ly careful now that my heart has been scarred. It still stings a little.

Thanks! I hope you have a fabo week also.

So, I’m totally falling in love with all my MES! Today I’m wearing Engaging. I haven’t had time to play with my Antiquitease stuff because I’ve been so busy but I did last night and I think that I’m gonna have to get every MES that ever gets made by MAC from this point on. DOH!

I love the glass jars and the way it looks when its brand new… weird, I know! I only own Blacktrack and Uppity, but in the long run I’ll probably end up getting them all since they can serve as a base too. Not to mention the colors are soooo pretty!

I also like the Paint Pots. Although a little dryer compared to the gel consistency of the Fluidline, but I’m drawn to the colors. Honestly, I think I have a disease for liking things that are just jewel-toned in color and perfect. By perfect I mean like the look of fresh fallen snow. No tracks in it, just a perfect blanket of fluff…

    Hi Helen,

Thank you for saying HI! Those products are from the Stylistics collection, released last month. That packaging is to die for. I didn’t end up getting any of the products because they are a bit more expensive than regular MAC products.

I checked the MAC Web site for you and unfortch I can’t find it on the site any more. If you live by a MAC Pro store you can call to ask if they still have any items left – I believe that they’ll also ship items to you too!

Helen, I’d love to hear what you think of it!

This lipgloss is different from the regular ones that MAC releases – I have the version of it from last year and it’s really great. It’s non sticky and the tube is very elegant. Good luck in your search, as the Stylistics were a highly anticipated and considered an “exclusive” collection. 🙂

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick.
