The Juicy Couture Troy Surratt Lip Gloss Set Is Quite a Sweet Treat

To dip or not to dip — that is the question. Whether ’tis nobler on the lips to suffer the slings and arrows of bacterial infection, or to take arms against a tin that contains the tastiest glosses I’ve worn in a really long time…

Even though I’d prefer tubes to a tin, my taste buds are like, “We don’t care!” The new glosses in the Juicy Couture Troy Surratt Lip Gloss Set, a collaboration between Juicy Couture and celebrity makeup artist Troy Surratt (whose resume reads like my iTunes workout playlist, and includes the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Fergie and Janet Jackson), smell and taste just like my movie theater Achilles’ heel…

Gummy bears!

Yup, gummy bears. The white, red and purple ones, as a matter o’ fact.

The lightly tinted, non-sticky glosses go by the names, Vanilla Shake, Strawberry and Raspberry, and all three feel more like hydrating lip balms than straight glosses to me, which I like.

They aren’t the longest lasting lippies in the world, but that’s not a huge surprise for a balm. I’d say they last about an hour or two on my lips.

Pricey? Most definitely, yes. But they taste like gummy bears!!! 🙂

Raspberry is pretty! I’ve also seen a Juicy Couture nail polish set.. Guess they are trying to branch out?

Very happy that it’s hump day, too! 😀 Can’t wait for this busy week to be over.

      Hi Sonya,

Yup, they are doing two nail kits with Deborah Lippmann. Here’s swatches of the Metallic one:

I can’t wait for this week to be over as well. What have you been busy with?

Pretty, but I would rather just look at it than use it.

Speaking of gummies and yummy things….I found those Mango Cream Bars at Trader Joes! They are everything you said they’d be. *swoons*

AMAZING. They also have raspberry ones, but I don’t like them as much. The mango ones are way tastier!

You had me at “gummy bears.” I LOVE when beauty products smell like candy. And if they taste that way? Well, even better.

You know the only thing I ever eat at the movies? That’s right. Gummy bears. I can down a jumbo box in a matter of moments (which is why I try to never have them in the house… they’re a movie treat). Oh, were we talking about lip glosses? 🙂 These are very nice!

Today was an awesome day because I got to visit one of our printers. I haven’t done a press check in a decade, but love the press room, especially the smell of ink. It was as fabulous as I’d remembered! 🙂

      Hi Kim,

Gummy bears are the candy god’s gift to womankind. 🙂 If we went to the movies it would be your job to eat all my green ones… those are the only ones I don’t like!

Have you ever tried Gummy Lifesavers? They’re really good too.

How cool that you got to visit the printers today. Although I love the ink scent (if I close my eyes and think about it I can practically smell it!), what I really love is the sound. There’s something oddly soothing about all that machinery banging away. 🙂

Deal on the greens – I love them all! They do have to be the extra soft kind, though. I don’t like them when they’re Swedish-Fish-chewy. 🙂 No, I haven’t tried the Savers – I’ll have to try them out!

I hear you 100%. The sheets being fed and stacked is so calming. We don’t do any web printing so I’m only familiar with the sheet fed presses, but I love them. I really should work for a printer, though our very nice rep said he doesn’t even smell the ink anymore. He’s been around it so much that he doesn’t notice it. I felt very sorry for him. I guess I’m better off to try to visit once per year. 🙂

I love your reasoning “pricey…yes. But they taste like gummy bears!!”
    Hahaha.
You know what I love as a movie treat, chocolate covered gummy bears!! So I don’t have to choose between chocolate or fruity candy. It’s an awesome combination!

      Hi Adrienne,

Oh, I’ve seen those but I’ve never tried them. I bet they would be good with dark chocolate.

Do you ever eat Sour Patch Kids at the movies? I like those too.

You should definitely try them sometime! And some nice candy stores have them too, so you get nicer chocolate, yummmm. I do sour patch too! Either the kids, or I also really like the watermelons. For longer movies (Harry Potter, par exemple) I like a mix of candy types, so if I get sick of sweet candy, I can switch to sour patch and have some thing sour, then back again as needed. Thats the A.D.H.D. in me 🙂

I want to try these now that you mentioned they taste like gummy bears! They are a little pricey though and like you said I hate dipping my finger in a tin of lip balm…

      Hi PinkGlitter,

I think the gummy bear flavor/scent is underutilized in the beauty world. 🙂

Have you run into any good lip balms lately that I need to know about?

      Hi Stephanie,

Yeah, the tins, while adorable, can be a pain. I guess you could use a lip brush, but that’s no fun.

Oh I just got a balm with exactly the same packaging at L’Occitane this weekend! The colour really isn’t what I was expecting though, I like those a lot better!
