The Franco Sarto Farley Wedge Towers Above the Rest, Takes Spring and Summer Looks to New Heights

April 22nd, 2013 by Karen 16 Comments

Franco Sarto Farley Wedges
Turning heads is an easy feat for feet wearing these teal Franco Sarto Farley Wedges…

Do I really need another pair of shoes?

No.

But years from now when I look back on my life I want to be able to say that drag queens and David Lee Roth circa 1984 (the Jump era) would have approved of my footwear.

There will come a day when my arches will fall and I’ll only be able to comfortably wear lunch lady flats and sandals (sigh…), but until that day, as long as I can, I will always choose the funnest shoes for every occasion (well, most of the time).

Like these teal Franco Sarto Farley Wedges I picked up at DSW a while back.

Teal + gray skinny jeans = YES!

Now that it’s warming up and I don’t have to wear socks every day, these have pretty much been the only pair of shoes I’ve wanted on my feet!

They’re comfy and easy to style, like with skinny or wide-leg jeans, dresses or shorts, and I think the cross design on the front, and the matte metal buckle, gives these flower-power cork wedges just the right amount of cool city girl vibe.

I love ’em so much that I picked up another pair in nude to replace the Unisa sandals I wore into the ground last summer… That pair all but fell apart (BOO!).

The nude shade goes with everything

These look pretty high because of the 4-inch wedge heel, but because there’s also a 1.5-inch platform, they feel more like a 2.5-inch heel on my feet.

You might not be comfortable in them if you strictly wear flats 24/7, but if you do wear heels at least sometimes, these are a very comfy pair!

I like the nude pair because it’s practical and goes with everything, but whenever I wear that teal pair, I see a lot of fashionistas checking out my feet.

Definitely show-stopper shoes. 🙂

PRICE: $59.95 (originally $89)
AVAILABILITY: Available now at DSW and online in nude, teal, green and black
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

Properly vetted

So, the big news, last weekend Tabs paid a visit to the vet for his yearly physical.

Poor guy hates riding in the car, and he meowed in his cat carrier the entire time. El Hub and I tried to soothe him on the 20-minute drive, but I’m sure he was like, “Stop this car immediately, and let me out!”

Trying to soothe Tabs in the waiting room of the Mill Valley Cat Clinic

He got a clean bill of health, and the vet even called him a “happy cat.”

When we got back home, Tabs got treats, a new toy, a diamond-studded collar and extra lovin’ for his troubles.

If you’re looking for a cat vet in the Marin County area, I can’t recommend the Mill Valley Cat Clinic enough. The staff and doctors really do seem to love cats, and their prices are affordable.

Oh, and the waiting room is like a cat lady jamboree! This time I met three new cats.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Another Monday down. Good job. How was your day?

    Cute shoes (and pedi)!

Glad that Tabs had a good report from the vet.

I took it easy today since it was the first day in awhile that I could sleep in as long as I wanted and had nowhere I had to be. I did, however, find the time and energy to make my favorite lentil and orange salad. YUM!

Hoping your checking out tonight’s The Voice. TWO Bruno Mars songs performed, so far….

Glad to know Tabs is a “happy cat”.

Wedge heels are so much fun in summers, especially for a petite person like myself. 🙂

My cat Ernesto always gets frantic when we go to the vet…
Nice wedges! I went shoe shopping during the week-end and I saw a whole lot of shoes that were calling my name!

Today was tough, but now it’s almost over. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a little easier at work!

Very cute! I especially approve of the nude because they’re so versatile. 🙂

I’ve never known a cat that doesn’t hate the car. It’s so strange. Most dogs can’t wait to go for a car ride but every cat I know howls up a storm! 🙁

Love your new wedges and the nail color goes so well with them (is that YSL Vert d’Orient?)! You’re so ready for summer!

Poor Tabs but it’s a once-every-year type of thing. I hope he didn’t stay traumatized for too long!

Cute shoes! I was looking for a pair in this color while at DSW on Sunday. I’ll have to order these online. Glad Tabs is ok too.

I love these shoes! I’ve been looking for a pair of wedges so I’l have to see if my DSW has these.

Glad to hear Tabs is doing well. I had to take Nina to the vet yesterday for her yearly vaccinations. Poor thing was so scared and just curled up in the carrier. She was quiet in the car the whole time.

When we had our foster kitty Oscar, he had no problem being in the carrier and loved being in the car. If we were parked, we’d let him out of the carrier to explore the car and he’d hop up on the dashboard to look out the window.

hooray for fab wedges! So stylish!!! I saw a similar pair in the nordies Spring catalog. Let’s just say you are so on-trend and got a fantastic deal at DSW!

and, as a little bit older lady who has already had some foot problems…. I can attest that the right footwear, believe it or not, can help with the foot problems. For a year I had to wear this pair of wedges that were crazy high- my kids couldn’t understand that this IS my comfortable pair of shoes. Lucky for me, I was cured through ballet barre exercises, but it was a painful year for my feet. Later, I found out about something else that could have helped me called YogaToes, a brand of shoe that strengthens feet and ankles so you can support yourself in whatever pair you wear. Professional ballerinas use them. they are butt ugly but just wear them to walk the cat or around the house. Or just do Yoga or barefoot ballet. a little effort makes a huge difference.

And Hello! on the fab grey skinnies and teal pedi! Lacquer color name, please? and those nude wedges will make your legs look a mile long with a dress.

Congrats on the good checkup. You are a great pet “parent”- it’s nice to get some proof from the vet once a year. Lucky Tabs!

Love the teal shoes .. I must find a pair of wedges in orange.

Not sure why I need orange – but I do!

I love Franco Sarto shoes–so comfy. I’m still wearing a pair of wedges I got 3 yrs ago- a cobalt blue patent that I adore!
