So there I was, minding my own beeswax, when I caught Tabs staring at his reflection in the big @ss mirror that comes with the new Benefit Scene Queen The Annie Collection palette ($38). I think he might have been checking his eyeliner (cat’s got wicked tightlining skillz) or plotting makeup larceny…
I swear, Benefit must have a soothsayer on staff because they always know what I’m craving. The particular mix of dramatic neutrals in this stash of goodies for eyes, lips, face and cheeks is, again, right up my alley. The second of two new limited edition Sephora exclusives from Benefit Trend Makeup Artists Annie and Maggie (peep the other palette, Sunday Funday, here), Scene Queen’s big drama is designed to steal scenes (and the limelight).
Swatches from left to right: Coralista, High Beam, Juicy Coral, Smokin’ Liner, Charcoal, Shimmering Beige, Misty Blue, Navy
The palette comes with all the fixin’s for some serious smokey eyes, among other looks, with makeup in shades of blue, gray, beige and black, along with a pop of juicy coral for cheeks and lips, yum! Can you see yourself putting these colors to use before your next big night on the town? Available online now and in Sephora stores next month. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. GOAL! We got Monday out of the way, ladies! I hope you had a good one and got your week off to a great start. What’s on the agenda for tonight? Anyone up for a little Drop Dead Diva online?
Wow, the first picture is so cute…
I am loving the juicy coral gloss as well!

Hi Citrine,
LOL, yeah, Tabs is a total camera hog!
these colors…from the shadow to the lips and cheeks…are seriously ideal for you! I rarely buy based on how colors look on someone else, but you have sold me on this set. I will be looking for this first thing the next time I am at Sephora. Truly, though, you look FANTASTIC in these picks.
Hi Denise,
So glad to hear that you love this set! Are you a Benefit fan?
These palettes are gorgeous! I seriously dont know which one i like better! haha i think i like the eyeshadow shades from the Sunday Funday Palette better since i like more natural looking shadows, but i am really loving the blush, hightlighter and lip shades from this palette! If only they had a palette which combined the two 😛 haha thanks for posting!

Hi Agnes,
You’re very welcome!
I watched DDD this morning 🙂 You definitely got me hooked on that show . . .
Hi Hyzenthlay,
DDD is my new favorite show. I’m so glad she and Tony finally got together. They have such great chemistry!
Whatcha got planned for this week? Are you still relaxing at home?
I love that lippie on you!

Hi Lindsay,
Thanks, hon!
Tonight I’m waiting out a tornado watch in my basement….lol, I’m in Michigan and it’s 1:49am. I adore these palettes, by the way 😛 I wish I could pick and choose what I like from the two.
Hi Sara,
Oh no! I hope that the tornado passed without any incident!
Ooh, this is just gorgeous on you! (Then again, I’m starting to doubt that it’s possible for something NOT to look lovely on your mug!) I wish I could justify buying this for the cheek and lip colour, but I’m afraid I probably already have too many dupes for the shadows *pouts*

Hi Rae,
Do you own Coralista yet? I bet if you got a box you’d love it like crazy!
omg, must have! perfect for travelling – can do dramatic looks and neutral looks; just wish it came with a more pink than coral blush lol.
.-= beth’s last blog post… poizenisxkandee: @Glamutante oh darling you could never be an old maid. forever fabulous. =-.
Hi Beth,
I was kind of surprised that they included corals and not pinks… I like that they did something different, though. Keeps it fresh!
Ahh this looks so awesome! I’ve been wanting to try coralista and high beam but haven’t gotten around to picking them up. Those shadows look great on you and they seem to have good color pay off! Going into my Sephora wish list NOW 🙂
.-= Christian’s last blog post… Happy Father’s Day! =-.
Hi Christian,
Yay! I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. You will loooove Coralista (it’s one of my favorite Benefit boxed blushes).
That lip color looks stunning on you!

Thanks, babe! How’s your Tuesday going?
wow that looks fabulous on you! I love the colour of the blush and lipgloss. It’s very flattering 🙂

Hi Mint,
Corals are my weakness. Have you tried Coralista yet? It’s all sorts of awesome.
Its so pretty the packaging. The colours look great on you 🙂
Hi Radhika,
I love the packaging. It’s fun, but not cheesy!
You look so cute! Love your top!
I like this one, but I think I like the colors in the other palette more for me.
Hey Tiffany,
I could so see you doing the coral lip/cheek from this!
How’s the weather out your way today?
Hey K! It’s HOT! and humid. High of 96 today! What’s it like over there? It’s gotta be better than this, right? 🙂
Dang, that must be almost unbearable. I don’t mind hot of it’s dry heat, but tack on the humidity and I’m done!
Right now it’s the low 60s, but it’ll get to about 80 today. Summer = YAY!
Looks great on you!
Hi Scientific Housewife,
Happy Tuesday! Are you going to pick this one up?
The palette is so pretty and the look you came up with it is awesome! 🙂
Benefit always makes the cutest and most practical little palettes to carry around! I want!!!
Hi Nina,
Thanks! Do you own any Benefit palettes?
I have Justine Case which came out a year or so ago. I also got Confessions of a Concealaholic….
They were pretty good buys and very convenient to take a long when travelling … 🙂
Justine Case is/was a good one.
I was hoping you picked up Powderazzi… now that palette ROCKS!
I think I ended up pickikng something else when Powderazzi came up. Hmmm … must stalk evilbay to find it LOL.
I got into palettes in a big way just this year I think … realized with all the running around we do, they are a more practical option to have than individual products … 🙂
I’ve never purchased anything off of ebay because I’ve heard to many horror stories. Plus, a lot of sellers use my pics without permission (BOO), and that just makes me cranky. 🙁
I hear you regarding the practicality of palettes. I like how they have everything you need in one spot!!
Oh that sux abt your pictures!!! BOO!!!! Yeah youre right about ebay horror stories ….. my co worker got what he thought was a great deal on a d&g perfume but when it got to him it smelled like isopropyl alcohol.
The Too Faced Glamour To Go ones are nice too! 🙂
The kit is awesome! And it looks amazing on you! I would love to see a picture with your eyes closed to see the blending or even a tutorial!!!!
Hi Lizbeth,
Thanks! Argh, I knew I should’ve taken pics of my eyes closed…
I am stalking the Sephora website!! It’s not in stock online… Do you have any idea of when it will be available?? I think it’s a good deal for 4 shadows, and i’ve been wanting to try coralista because i’ve heard so many good things about it and I can also try High Beam even though I wouldnt know how to apply it… lol
Have a good day!
I know right now it’s available for beauty insiders… it’s should go online soon. If you can wait then it they’re supposed to hit counters in July!
It’s a little shocking to me how badly I want this palette, but no makeup spending for me til next paycheck. 😛
Hi Michou,
Well, hopefully that paycheck will be coming soon. 🙂
What do you do? Do you like your job?
yay yay yay! incentive for buying this includes black and pale blues shadows which i do not already own any of, cute packaging and ANOTHER MINI HIGH BEAM! i use the one from celebutante like theres no tomorrow- hey, one day ill buy the full size! (L)
Hi Mill,
In some ways I prefer the Mini High Beams to the full sized ones. They’re easier to travel with, and you can actually finish them!
love it!

Hi Misswhitemilkyway,
Are you a fan of Benefit? Happy Tuesday!
Looks so pretty on you! Both of the palettes are adorable!
Hi Michelle,
G’morning! Do you think you might pick up one of the palettes?
Well, I probably shouldn’t, but I think I’ll cave LOL! They are just too cute! Would love tuts on the looks you did!
I’ll see what I can do. 😉
You look beautiful, especially loving the lip color on your skin tone!
Thanks, Anna!
Have a lovely Tuesday.
Ooooooo… I think I like this better than the Sunday Funday one! Perhaps a trip to Sephora is in order?
I am so jealous of Tab’s beasting eyeliner skillz! I can never get mine to look that perfect! 😀
LOL… he rocks that guyliner like nobody’s business!
I was hoping this was at Sephora now – I would have loved to take this with me on my road trip to SoCal this weekend. Yup, I am loving this Annie Scene Queen palette because I wanted to try Coralista but didn’t want to commit to buying the full size.
Road trip!!
Where are you headed? Are you going for work or for fun?
Fun thankfully – we’ll be visiting my dad in Riverside and my husband’s friends in Laguna Beach. This will be also my daughter’s first road trip so it’ll be a test of patience for all of us! I’m just excited for constant sunshine!
Ah, remember when the Walkman was the pinnacle of road trip technology? It seems like road trips are so different from the time we were kids… Now the youngin’s have DVD players and all sorts of other things to amuse themselves!
How long will you be on vacay? I hope you get in some relaxing time!
Thanks girl – we’ll just be gone for 4 days. Just long enough to get away from work and play in the sunshine!
That’s a good amount of time. I think for all parents trips with kids essentially end up being “working vacations,” but any time you can get out of town and be warm is a welcome change, right?
I prefer this collection to the Sunday Funday one. That coral lipgloss is love 🙂
.-= Karen B’s last blog post… First Day of Summer! =-.
I loooove that lipgloss! It’s surprisingly pigmented. 🙂
The Sunday Funday colors are more up my alley, but these colors look seriously stunning
on you!
Thanks, Lisa! 🙂
Happy Tuesday, btw. How’s your day going so far?
You look stunning in these photos!
Thanks, hon!
This palette does look amazing on you Karen..it’s very soft and summery. Also reminds me of the popular navy colors that are going on right now, super cute! oh and Tabs looks great too as usual lol
.-= Aniela’s last blog post… How to Get Nude Lips =-.
LOL, it’s totally unfair how he rocks the no-makeup makeup look so well!
Pretty look on you. I like that lipgloss. It makes me want to get it now, lol.
Hi Saku,
Do it! You need to get Coralista in your life, stat.
I’m so tempted. I been eyeing their blushes for the longest.
These colors look fantastic! Please do a tutorial on how you did this look!
Yes ma’am!
so pretty! I don’t think i have ever seen a look on you I didnt like 🙂

Karen oh Karen! No matter the palette, you always look so pretty! How do you do it?
.-= Pinch’s last blog post… Nails: OPI Do you Lilac it? =-.
Aww, Pinch! That’s so nice of you. Honestly, I think you can wear any color… you just have to find a way to make it work for you. 🙂
I can’t decide whether I like this palette better compared to the Sunday Funday. I absolutely love the packaging of all Benefit products. I think I might go for Sunday Funday though and just get this one some other time. I especially love the built-in mirrors! I’m not too thrilled with the brushes that come with Benefit palettes though. I personally think they’re too ridiculously tiny to be of any decent use. But I guess they’d come in handy when you’re out traveling.
The Craft was the first movie I’ve watched on a dvd! I was probably around 12 years old and I remember It was very disturbing for me. It has all the things I am scared of in real life… nasty insects and losing your hair:/
Actually I never knew that it was a famous movie! I grew up in Turkey and I don’t remember anyone knowing it but me. My cousin gave the dvd to me at the time and I am sure none of my friends had watched it.
