Strike a Pose (There’s Nothing To It) with JK Jemma Kidd In Vogue Perfect Blush

Don’t just stand there, let’s get to it, strike a pose, there’s nothing to it —

Aw, man! It was only after I took these pictures that I put two and two together. I should have done Vogue poses for these pics! Oh, well… Next time. 🙂

Have I ever told you about the time my friend Cindy and I went to Madonna Night at a club in San Francisco? Yep, the DJ played Madge hits all night long. It was awesome! — except for one thing, and that thing had nothing to do with the music and everything to do with my height.

I’m a little shorty, and every time the DJ played Vogue, which he did several times, I spent the entire song dodging sharp Vogue elbows to my temples and long arms to my face. I left the club happy that night, but I looked like a to’ up rag doll with a mild concussion.

Please, if you find yourself striking poses after trying on the new JK Jemma Kidd In Vogue Perfect Blush, watch your surroundings, and keep your elbows in close. There might be a little blogger person dancing beside you (you never know).

These three new powder blushes are apt to trigger quite a few happy dances, but they carry a hefty cover charge of $18. They’re named after shopping and fashion hot spots like South Beach (a bronze), Rodeo Drive (a pink) and 5th Avenue (an apricot), and Jemma designed them to work with all skin tones.

Doesn’t the packaging have a Shu Uemura vibe? The pans each have five colors which can worn individually or swirled together with a brush.

The finish? I love! It’s mostly matte, but with a hint of shimmer that keeps the colors from looking flat on my cheeks. The long-lasting blushes have a fair amount of pigment, too, and I’m able to build them up in layers for bolder cheek looks.

Unfortunately, as it is for Jemma’s Glitterati eyeshadows, the $18 price is hard to stomach. These may be gems — no, wait, they are — but they’re priced like them too, especially for drugstore booty.

PRICE: $18 each (available in three shades)
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Target stores and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A (an A+ if they were $5 less)

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I’ve never seen Jemma Kidd at my Target, ever 🙁 $18 sounds too steep for drugstore!

I know! But for some weird reason if it was $18 and at the department store I’d probably be totally cool with it!

Okay, I really need to start paying attention to this section at Target. I like Rodeo Drive – I just hope it’s pink enough to show up on me!

I think you could rock it. It took me a few layers to build it up like this, but it was really easy and fast.

ive always liked RB so i was glad he won. MI struck me as a bit jersey shore-ish! i was surprised he had a cute wifey! i was ok w/ MI really, til he stole RB’s friend chicken oyster idea and ran away with it. 🙂

I saw these at Target and I loved the way they applied. I had to walk away because of the price tag though. I thought it was a little steep for a drugstore blush. But, when I got home, I regretted not getting Rodeo Drive. I think I might take the kids to Target today to pick it up.

Did you end up going back to Target? I think that’s a sign that you need to go back and try it again! 🙂

Ahhh, mostly matte blushes with a bit of shimmer are my downfall. I can’t do over the top glittery and pure matte sometimes looks to powdery. i need to get over paying $18 for something from Target and just give it a try.

The price is a little rough but these are very nice blushes. Maybe swatch them next time you’re at the store?

Do you know if Target has a decent return policy or do they not accept back used cosmetics?

I love the packaging and the colors look great on you. Though, I am with some of the others on how this seems just a bit too high priced for my blood. Not that expensive things shouldn’t be at Target. Even if his was at Sephora, I’d feel a little leery.

Vogue poses would have been awesome here! 🙂 I haven’t seen any JK at our Target but I haven’t really looked very hard. I’ll have to do that. Of course, my heart is set on getting Blush Gelee in Candide Pink. I’m so predictable, aren’t I?

I was at Sephora the other day and was *this close* to picking it up. We’ll see how long I can resist. 🙂

OOH, have you tried out your quad yet?!?

Oh, I love, love, love it!!! I’ve been wearing it every day (and I’m actually kind of partial to that pointy, foam brush it came with for applying the liner). I haven’t had a lot of luck with using shadow as liner and know it’s because of my bad brush skills (oh, and not having the SK bent brush!) but this foamy thing works great for me! I’m trying not to think of the blush gelee but you know how well that worked out for me with the quad! 🙂

Fantastic! 🙂 I’m so glad it worked out for you. It’s a stunning little quad and the shadows blend so perfectly. Oooh… have you tried wetting the foam brush first? I bet it would look really pretty for a pop of color along the lash line.

No, not yet! But I definitely will. I have a feeling that everyone who knows me is going to be thinking “enough with the orange shadow, already” before I get tired of this quad! 🙂

Not digging these for the price. =[ For 18 dollars, I like an especially sleek looking product, you know what I mean? These don’t do that for me.
