Rimmel Glam Eyes Lash Flirt Mascara, A Haiku Review

April 12th, 2010 by Karen 52 Comments

Oh, Glam Eyes Lash Flirt
(A mascara by Rimmel)
Cheap … but not sleazy.

Just seven dollars!
In two shades: Black and Kohl Black
On sale at drugstores.

Lashes like magic
Sprinkled in Miracle Grow
EFFING CRAZY LONG!

For mad length and lift
Rimmel Glam Eyes Mascara
Lasts from dusk till dawn

Nekkid lashes

What’s Rimmel’s secret?
The air-whipped formula and
Carbon black pigment.

Is it perfect? No.
The brush is hard to use and
It can make a mess.

One layer

Each time I use it
Product ends up on my lids
It’s so annoying!

There’s also some flakes
And a bit of smudging too
Not a huge deal though…

Two layers

I still think it’s great
Especially for the price
It’s a drugstore gem.

To lengthen lashes
Give Rimmel Glam Eyes a try.
MBB Rating…

Three layers

B+/A-

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. We made it through Monday in one piece, babes, and I feel like celebrating! I think candy’s in order. Maybe a Blow-Pop or two. They have wacky flavors now like Blue Razzberry and Extreme Lemonade. Really, how extreme can lemonade be?? It’s lemonade!

P.P.S. Before you jet, beauty lover, check out the home page for more makeup reviews. 🙂

This mascara looks really lovely actually. I’m impressed! The volume’s really not bad either, imo.

And omg I miss blow pops so much!!! I also have a ridiculous donut craving right now. Do you ever get those?

      Hi Lee,

That’s a GREAT mascara. I love it too! Have you tried their new High Lengths yet (the one with funny teeth)? It’s good for lengthening…

I picked this mascara months ago but haven’t used it yet. Maybe I will crack it open soon. I have always liked the original glam eyes mascara, the one with the black and pink packaging. I find the wand quite easy to use because it is skinny. It makes my lashes long!

I am actually a big time fan of Rimmel Glam Eyes (the regular one) – I initially bought it because the packaging was cute (pink with a crown? yes, please!)…Rimmel actually has some great products for their price point. Kudos for showcasing this one! 🙂 Must try it now!

Extreme Lemonade FTW!!!! Im glad we all made it thru Monday!

I had such a horrendous drive home – the freeway I take to get to our home was like a parking lot. I was disgraught when I got home – so distraught that I needed three pieces of those Easter Nerds that I got from Church. I felt better after that.

Im still in search for a mascara – maybe ill give Rimmel a shot – its on sale somewhere for 40% off …. 🙂

you know they got it from Blow Pops . Almost everything is identical except blow pops are Way cooler 🙂

I never wear mascara, so i thought spending six bucks on two mascaras isn’t bad, even if they do suck .lol.
my eyes are really sensitive to mascaras for some reason. plus, i wear glasses so i’ve never seen the point ..my friends about rip my head off when i say that hahaha

Grape Blow Pops have been my go-to candy since I was a kid – we have an industrial sized box of them in our snack drawer right now (and suspiciously, all the grape are long gone).

Cool – I was interested in picking up a good drugstore tube of mascara once I’m finished with my plush lash. I’ll have to check this one out.

Don’t you know a product isn’t fun unless it’s branded ‘EXTREME’?? Extreme lemonade? That better be so sour that I pucker until my forehead caves in…

I finally splurged on a Sonia Kashuk lash brush (the snazzy kind with the long, contoured black handle) and all I can say is… why did it take me so flippin’ long?!? This thing separates my lashes like nothing I’ve ever tried before! I think it’s the extra-long metal teeth! I think it’s the perfect partner for the oh-so-affordable Rimmel mascaras (which are extending my time between pricey mascaras while not supplanting my deep-seated affections for Chanel and Armani)!

I recently tried Rimmel’s Lash Maxxx (yah, lots of x’s!) waterproof, and their Maxx (only two this time) Volume Flash mascaras. I thought both were very good in terms of lash appearance and were pretty long-lasting! I like Volume Flash better in terms of performance, but Lash Maxxx is nice because I hate spending a lot on waterproof mascaras! Not much clumping or smudging, but neither were really good in terms of pigmentation! All in all, great for the price, but not enough to wean me off of pricier options when I have the cash! 🙂

Hi Karen! I had the original Glam’Eyes formula sometime last year and the thing I really didn’t like about it was how flimsy the applicator was. Is that what made the brush difficult for you to use? It so I think I’ll have to take a pass on this one… It does make your lashes look fab though!
