Pixi Turned Target Into a Magic Kingdom With the New Disney Pixi PixiGlow Collection

February 3rd, 2012 by Karen 20 Comments

Pixiglow by Pixi Fellow pixies, nixies, fairies and sprites, someone is tinkering with makeup at Target. 🙂

Dreamy drugstore line Pixi collaborated with Tinker Bell over at Disney HQ to create the new PixiGlow six-piece release of makeup for eyes, lips, cheeks, faces and nails.

Exclusive to Target, the limited edition launch doesn’t arrive in stores until next month, but it is available now online.

Unlike many of Disney’s makeup collaborations, the packaging for PixiGlow is fairy-ly subtle, but if you look closely, you’ll notice Ms. Bell protecting each piece and box.

“In collaboration with Disney, we created a unique Tinker Bell collection that captures the fresh-faced, glowing, and timeless beauty of both a Disney icon and the Pixi brand by reinforcing that makeup simply enhances and perfects your natural beauty.”

–Petra Strand, creator of the Pixi makeup line

Even if you prefer more daring Disney packaging, I think there’s some pretty good stuff here to like…

Wearing Catching Shadows Crayon, Straight On ’til Morning Liner and Fairy Dust on my eyes and Magic Tink Tint on my lips

Straight On ’til Morning Liner ($15) One of my favorite pieces in the launch! Three layers of this khaki green pencil with golden glitter deliver a fully opaque look that just won’t budge. I love the way my eyes sparkle with it on.
Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A

Catching Shadows Crayon ($18) This cream-to-powder eyeshadow crayon can even stand up to a sweaty yoga class! It’s a shimmery beige that lights up eyes when worn alone, and it can also be used as a base for powder eyeshadows.
Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A

Magic Tink Tint ($16) This pink lip crayon is pH-powered! It reacts to the wearer’s pH level, creating a personalized pink tint — kinda like a mood ring for your lips (FUN!). I like its subtle shine and light, non-sticky texture, but I wish it didn’t taste so waxy…
Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+

Fairy Dust ($14) This multi-purpose loose powder comes in opalescent pinkish gold, and it reminds me a little of MAC Vex. The sponge-tip applicator evenly applies color to eyes, cheeks and even lips.
Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+

Note to Pixi and Tinker Bell: I’m enjoying this collection so far. Great job, guys! 🙂

A kitty collaboration…

Woo-hoo! I’m so glad it’s the weekend, and I think I’m going to celebrate with something from the new Paul & Joe Meow collection, which is available now online over at Beautyhabit.

Tabs has been waiting for this collection with baited kitty breath for months. MONTHS!

Tonight he insisted that I order him a few things, and you know how it goes — whatever tabby wants, tabby gets. When his haul arrives, I’ll ask him if I can take a few pics. I’m pretty sure he’ll say yes. 🙂

As for tonight, my only plan is to chill and relax, which hopefully means going to see Chronicle with El Hub.

What are you up to tonight? How are things in your neck of the woods?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

TINKERBELL!!! She’s one of my favorite Disney characters! It’s hard to see a “good” character with negative traits (jealousy in her case) in Disney, and I remember identifying with that even as a little child. I like the liner 🙂

I toyed with the idea of ordering something from the kitten collection forever, but eventually decided against it. The packaging is too cute, I just don’t think I’ll have the heart to use anything! I mean, you’d have to break the kitty head to use the blush stick *shudders*

Catching Shadows Crayon seems to be perfect when you’re in a rush. Perfect for everyday and all over your lids.

I like the Catching Shadows Crayon. It would look great paired with a shimmery brown like NARS Fez.

I love the style they used for the Tinker Bell artwork. It’s less cartoony & more ethereal.

When do we get to see Tabs in a top hat & bow tie? He’d look so dashing & dapper. 😀
