Philosophy’s Holiday Cookbook Smells Like a Bestseller

December 17th, 2008 by Karen 13 Comments

Have you ever taken a cookbook into the shower? Well, Philosophy wants you to give it a try.

I was so excited to try the six scented shower gels in the Philosophy’s The Holiday Cookbook that I took each and every one of them into the shower with me.

I washed my left arm with Hot Cocoa, my right leg with Spicy Pear Cobbler, my buns with Cinnamon Buns (ha!)… I was a scented smorgasbord of delicious baked goodness. Cooler still, when I rinsed off, I didn’t smell like the inside of a bakery. Nope, these gels suds up nicely but wash off well, leaving just the faintest flavored scent on the skin.

The six 2-oz. bottles — Ginger Bread, Hot Coca, Red Velvet Cake (my favorite), Pumpkin Spice, Cinnamon Bums and Spicy Pear — come “wrapped” in Philosophy’s spiffy cookbook, decorated festively in red and white gingham.

Philosophy The Holiday Cookbook

Price: $35
Use: Six scented shower gels packed with holiday spirit
Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+

Philosophy did a great job cooking these up. We’re talking serious foam-osity with these bad boys, too. So much so that they could double as bubble bath or shampoo in a pinch.

I love all six festive fragrances, and it doesn’t hurt that they leave my skin feeling silky smooth. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. I’m still airborne but coming in for a landing soon. I bet I’m thumbing through the in-flight magazine at this very moment, probably reading an article about fly fishing or avocados, LOL!

I really want one of these. They look so cute and I’m sure they smell so amazing.

I’m so jealous you’re going to Hawaii. We just had a crazy ice/snow storm in Northeast PA last night. Yuck. I could seriously use some sunshine!

I wanted to get my aunt a Philosophy gift package for Christmas, and I was eying this in Sephora the other day. I think I’m sold.

    Safe travels!

I actually use the Pumpkin Spice one as my regular shampoo. The fiance likes the Coconut Frosting for his bubble baths. Technically they’re shower gells. I guess one can use them for all three tasks.

Hey Karen! I’m glad you came to Hawaii post-storm. It’s been storming this past week, but it’s gotten way better. I bit muggy, but nothing that bad. Have fun!

    Hi Brittany,

LOL, I wish it was sunny. It’s been overcast here, and my MIL told me that it stormed like crazy last week. It’s nice that it’s not freezing though. When we left the Bay Area last night everything had a fine layer of ice on it!

Sending you some virtual warm weather…

    Hi P. Potter,

Thanks! We got here safe and sound. 🙂

I think your aunt (or any other lady in your life) would love this… I don’t think you can ever go wrong with Philosophy! What do you think of the Grace scents? I love those, too.

    Hi Tekoa,

Girl, you need this “cookbook”! I brought the Pear Cobbler one with me and I used it last night! I nearly gnawed my arm off because it smelled so good! Loves it.

That’s cute that your fiance likes bubble baths… aww!

    Hi Lindsay,

I was watching the news last night with my family and saw that there’s another one coming in! I hope it passes Oahu by!

About Makeup and Beauty Blog

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
