Pacifica Is on a Roll: Pacifica Perfumes New Portable, Affordable Fragrances

August 18th, 2010 by Karen 36 Comments

pacifica perfume reviews

Heya, ladies. 🙂 How was your hump day afternoon? We got home from Reno a few hours ago, and since then I’ve done a load of laundry, watered the plants, given Tabs his overdue lurvies and took some pictures (with a little help from Tabs) of Pacifica’s cute line of Roll-On Perfumes ($12 for a 10-ml bottle).

Available in eight classic Pacifica scents — Hawaiian Ruby Guava, Brazilian Mango Grapefruit, Malibu Lemon Blossom, Tahitian Gardenia, Mediterranean Fig, French Lilac, Lotus Garden and Tuscan Blood Orange — and one new fragrance called California Star Jasmine (shown at the top), they should easily slip into most makeup bags or purses; size-wise, they’re TSA-approved, so you can pop ’em into a carry-on bag for air travel.

I brought the California Star Jasmine Roll On with me to Reno, and whenever I needed a break from the casino air — a mix of recycled cigarette smoke, desperation and perspiration — I’d bust out the little tube, roll it on my wrists, and take a deep breath (it smells like oranges, jasmine flowers and white musk on my skin). Just like that, I’d feel instantly better — transported from the dusty Nevada desert to a sandy Southern California beach.

The scent lasts about four hours, which isn’t bad considering how portable the bottles are and easy to reapply.

What I like most about this particular scent is that it doesn’t have the alcohol odor that so many roll-on fragrances have, and Tabs really likes that none of the scents in the line were tested on animals.

Another great product from Pacifica! 🙂 I can’t wait to add a few more of the scents to my fragrance collection. Available at Sephora stores and online at sephora.com. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I am so getting a couple of these to take in my purse with me. Such a reasonable price. Which scent is your fave? I only have the mango grapefruit one and I really like it. Right now I am carrying the Viva La Juicy roll on with me and sometimes its a it too strong.

Probably Malibu Lemon Blossom… although Brazilian Mango comes in a close second!

This sounds like it smells divine! I just might need to get it. And not to mention their little flowers/designs on the tubes are so cute! 🙂

These sound very wonderful, I am a fan of roller ball perfumes. I would love to try the mango, guava, orange and jasmine scents without buying the full size ones. I hope my local store carries these, since my local Sephora stores doesn’t.

You might want to check out health food stores around your neighborhood. Dunno if you guys have Whole Foods grocery stores, but I’ve seen there!

I’m really loving the new rollerball trend. It’s rare when I finish a fragrance anyway, so it’s nice to have little bottles I know I can actually use up. Here’s a rollerball set I’m currently longing for:

Ooh, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Stella. Just wait for the rose notes to come through at the end of the day… love it! I wear it all the time in the fall/winter.

Hee-hee, I just busted out my small bottle of Light Blue the other day and noticed that I was 25% done with it. I felt so accomplished. 😀

You’re welcome! I hope you get to sniff California Star Jasmine soon. I have a jasmine plant in my front yard and I swear it’s like sniffing a fresh flower. 🙂

I’ve loved almost every scent I’ve sniffed from the line. The fragrances don’t smell synthetic, overly sweet or plastic-y.

Do you like jasmine notes? If you do you’ll probably really like it!

    Hi Karen,

You know, I had NO idea Pacifica made perfumes. I see them all the time at Indigo (Canada’s BOrders, Barnes and Noble, etc.) and LOVE LOVE LOVE their Tunisian Jasmine soy candle.

And $12 is insanely cheap. I think their candles usually run in the mid to high 20’s (Cdn $).

I love rollerball perfumes, they are so great for “pack and go”. I have the Tahitian Gardenia candle and love it, might have to give the perfume a whirl. Although, I love jasmine too.

Karen, I know I’m way late on commenting (out of town all week with no internet), but I think I may have been sending you psychic vibes on this. I finally got to a Sephora while on vacation and literally squealed with delight when I saw A) Pacifica – finally! and B) rollerball. It was like a cosmic sign. I ended up getting the Tuscan Blood Orange and I love it. The husband and boys helped smell every one and give their opinions, which was a feat in itself. My major disappointment is that the scent only lasts 30 minutes, tops, on me. It’s not stopping me from rolling it on everyday but I really wish it lasted longer. I’m going to have to carry it with me everywhere so I’ll always have a little boost of happy when I need it.

PS You should have heard some of the fragrance comments from the boys. My favorite was “no… smells like dirt…. hmmmm… but a very specific kind of dirt….” (clearly the kind that has fig trees growing in it). 🙂
