MAC Makeup Reviews – MAC Royal Assets Tan Lips Palette

MAC Royal Assets Lip Palette O’ Rama, Part I

Holiday shopping is hard work. You have to hunt and gather, compare and contrast prices, and use your wits to find the shortest lines. Shoot, just the other day I almost had to wrestle a girl for a purse I wanted to buy for my moms … and you better believe I would’ve taken that girl down right there in the middle of Macy’s too. If we’d had spears we’d have been just like the cave girls of yore.

It isn’t always easy to find the right gift for someone. After a brutal day of shopping, you deserve a lil’ reward for all your hard work. Go on, snag a MAC Royal Assets Lip Palette ($22.50) or two for yourself. I won’t tell Santa, promise.

There are four palettes to choose from — tan, coral, red and pink — with coordinating colors for every lipstick loving gal.

In the tan lips set you get:
Pure Pomp – Soft yellow gold with gold pearl
Sceptre – Light tan with bronze pearl
Privee – Midtone brown with gold pearl

Each case fits easily into a clutch purse, perfect for nights out on the town. Also, each palette comes with a small lip brush, too. Normally, I don’t like tiny brushes because they can be too small to use well, but I decided to keep these for on-the-go spot touchups.

Check back later on for swatches of the other sets. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Oh, yeah… my favorite is sceptre. I must say that is the shimmery-est gloss I’ve seen in a while LOL. It’s like red tin foil.

Wow I think any lippie would look good on your lips! Is there a shade you cannot wear :)?

Thanks for posting these great pictures!

They look great on your skintone Karen !

I read somewhere you’re NC35 right ?I’m NC35 too and I’m lighter than you quite a bit, with more yellow undertones…hmmmm I wonder if the colouring and formulation is slightly different for the US and UK.

I’m looking forward to seeing the Coral and Pink…both ran out in my local MAC before I got my mitts on them, so I settled for the Viva Glam one and a Finery set in Pink instead.

    hey karen!

sceptre looks nice in the swatch and much more orange on your lips… the color on you reminds me of antiquitease… how do they compare?

    Heya SarahM,

Sceptre does kinda look like a red Hershey’s Kiss wrapper. 🙂

    Hi Grayburn,

Thanks for your complement! And sadly, I can’t wear some shades of beige, because they wash me out. 🙂

Hope you are having a good weekend. 🙂

    Hi Anna,

Yeah, I’m an NC35 in the winter and spring. I get very tan when during the spring or summer. It’s been awhile since I’ve been checked for skin color at MAC though so it might’ve changed.

Even though you didn’t get the palettes, you picked up some good ones! I love Viva Glam and the pink finery set! MAC came out with so many cute things this year…it’s so hard to say no when the packaing is so pretty.

    Have a good weekend 🙂

    Hi Kia,

I wore Antiquitease last night out to dinner. 🙂 It’s a bit more beige and less orange in comparison to Sceptre.

How have you been? Are ya done with your Christmas shopping?

    Hi Bravadora,

Aren’t they pretty? I hope you can check ’em out in person because they’re super cute. Have a good one!

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a. PGR).
