MAC Brunette Blonde Redhead Eyeshadow, Lipstick, Lipglass and Mineralize Skinfinish Swatches

January 3rd, 2009 by Karen 73 Comments

I. DON’T. CARE that it’s strange. I can’t help that my favorite set in MAC’s new Brunette Blonde Redhead collection is Redhead. Makeup rules were meant to be broken, right?

Here are some MAC Brunette Blonde Redhead swatches, hot and fresh out the kitchen (sorry, I’ve been listening to R. Kelly all day). 🙂

Here’s everything *except* for the three Brow Set gels — Girl Boy, Clear and Show Off. Already part of the permanent collection, the Brow Gels are available for peeping and purchasing at the MAC counter and online.

Brunette Mineralize Skinfinish is the shizz! I wanna take the pan and just rub it all over my bod like a makeup pervert.

I’m also lusting after Quick Tease Lipglass and Deep Shade Eyeshadow…

From left to right:

  • Chignon Lipstick: shimmery plum with pink pearl
  • What A Do! Lipstick: frosty pink coral gold
  • Quick Tease Lipglass: shimmery plum
  • Soft Wave Lipglass: shimmery peach

From left to right:

  • Deep Shade Eyeshadow: shimmery royal blue
  • Henna Eyeshadow: shimmery gold khaki
  • Femme Fi Eyeshadow: shimmery gold beige
  • Brunette Mineralize Skinfinish: shimmery coral

I think most of the Blonde collection shades are too cool for my skin tone, but my pale beauties should have plenty o’ fun with them.

Two colors that did make my heart skip a beat were Strawberry Blonde Lipglass (I can see this pairing perfectly with a classic cat eye) and Top Knot Eyeshadow (hello, smokey eye hawtness!).

From left to right:

  • B-Babe Lipstick: frosty cool pink
  • All’s Fair Lipstick: shimmery purple pink
  • Strawberry Blonde Lipglass: shimmery red pink
  • Peroxide Lipglass: shimmery white pink

From left to right:

  • Pincurl Eyeshadow: shimmery white pink with a touch of gray
  • Knight Eyeshadow: shimmery slate blue gray
  • Top Knot Eyeshadow: shimmery charcoal with purple glitter flecks
  • Blonde Mineralize Skinfinish: shimmery cool pink

Redhead’s my favorite of the three sets. The gold, pink and peach color palette makes a lot of sense to me, but I like the others almost as much.

On my wish list: all the Redhead eyeshadows, Red Devil Lipglass and Redhead Mineralize Skinfinish.

From left to right:

  • Marquise D’: creamy peach
  • Blow Dry: creamy coral pink
  • Live and Let Dye Lipglass: shimmery cool light pink
  • Red Devil Lipglass: shimmery coral orange

From left to right:

  • Flip Eyeshadow: shimmery bronze gold
  • 100 Strokes Eyeshadow: shimmery peach pink
  • French Cuff: shimmery plum burgundy
  • Redhead Mineralize Skinfinish: shimmery peach gold

The Eye Kohls

The three eyeliners are actually members of the permanent collection. I recommend Smolder — it’s a must-have for smokey eyes.

  • Smolder (Brunette): rich black
  • Phone Number (Blonde): gray
  • Teddy (Redhead): shimmery bronze brown

Well, my fellow MAC-aholics, what do ya think? Does MAC Brunette Blonde Redhead make your hair flip? I may be raven-haired, but I fell for Redhead, haaaay! 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Major congratulations to reader Tiffany for winning this week’s MAC Brunette Blonde Redhead giveaway!

Thanks for the swatches Karen! I loveee your blog.

Quick question. I’m a NC25. Which MSF would you recommend for me? Redhead or Brunette? I’ve got too many pink face stuff that I’ll willing skip the Blonde one.

    Thanks!

I LOOOOVE your swatches. One problem with them though- you make me want a lot more of this than I did before!!!! I only wanted Redhead MSF, Flip, and Red Devil. Now I also want Henna e/s and maybe French Cuff and 100 Strokes, and also Quick Tease l/g!

    Hey!
I’m usually a lurker, haha. But I was just wondering…
Is it just me, or do both Blonde and Redhead look like the full Blonde line would go with the full blonde line, and the full Redhead would go with the full redhead line, but the Brunette line looks like you couldn’t wear any of them together?
Just wondering, as someone with brown hair who alsoo likes redhead best- but I’ve got paler skin so yeah maybe thats why (i’m so freaking pale in the winter, haha)

There isn’t much in either of the collections which I don’t want, which could prove to be expensive. I think I’ve got a bit of time before it comes out here – we’re still on the Dame Edna/Chill ones, so I probably ought to start saving!

Hm… They are all nice, but I think that the promo poster says everything – the Brunette is meant for the darker skin tones ladies. Well, at least according to my opinion.
I am the real brunette, but I have very fair skin with a warm undertone and also a light eye color. And here we are – I need the Redhead collection! I fell in love with it on the spot!
Well, all of them has great shades of lip things and eyeshadow but the Brunette is too dark and really not my cup of tea and the Blonde is too cool for my skintone.

I think there’s a difference. Knight has deep purple flecks and the black has a purple tint to it. It’s *very pretty* in person. But honestly, if you already have Knight Divine then you probably don’t need it unless you’re a hard core smokey eye person.

    Hey Karen

I went and had a look at the Dame Edna collection yesterday and I was a little disappointed. It all seemd a little garish (although I was tempted by the eyeshadow trios) so I didn’t get anything. I got Mont Black and Wintersky eyeshadows from the Chill collection though. I wore wintersky on its own today, just with some mascara and I really love the colour. Its pretty and seems like a good “wear to work” sort of shade so I’m pretty happy!

Do you have anything from Dame Edna? I’ve missed a month or so’s worth of posts, busy December!
