Bright Lips Are the Big Draw in the Illustrative MAC Antonio Lopez Lip Palettes

MAC Antonio Lopez: 3 Lips/Fuchsia in Candy Yum Yum
Wearing the new MAC Antonio Lopez: 3 Lips/Fuchsia palette lipstick in Candy Yum Yum

Bold lip lovers say what?! In your dreams, are your lips ever super saturated shades of red, pink or purple?

Heck, even if they aren’t, draw a big red Sharpie heart around September 12 on your calendar (or ask Siri to remind you), because that’s when the MAC Antonio Lopez collection lip palettes arrive.

MAC Antonio Lopez 3 Lips Nude Fuchsia Red Boxes
Oh! The boxes have the same design…

I’m pretty stoked about two of ’em — 3 Lips/Fuchsia and 3 Lips/Red. At least for me and my bold lip-lurving heart, they steal the limelight away from the 3 Lips/Nude palette.

If you like powerful pouts, watch out for 3 Lips/Fuchsia and 3 Lips/Red. Their smooth, super saturated colors do NOT mess around. Both palettes get mad love from me.

As for the Nude palette…

The Nude one just isn’t doin’ it for me. Its two matte pastels and sheer shimmer aren’t proving easy to tame.

The pastels latch onto my every lip flake like MMA fighters latch onto limbs, and they tend to apply unevenly (and are even chalky).

I dig the packaging, and the sheer shimmer looks pretty, but — I don’t know — they’re not enough to carry this particular lip palette for me.

The other two, though? WOW! I hope you don’t skip the brights without taking a closer look.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Guess what…? We just passed the hump! Booya! 🙂

P.P.S. Tease me if you want, but I just started watching 24 on Netflix. Yup, I’d never even seen one episode before this week. I think I’m about — I don’t know — 13 years late?

Dang, babe, that Jack Bauer is having a baaaad day so far. He could really use some meow time.

I so much want to try a purple lipstick. Violetta looks like a nice shade. I was thinking of trying it as a Fall shade.

Violetta looks different on you than I thought it would look, but I’m sure it depends on your natural lip color. Anyway, this confirms what I already thought, the pink palette is mine!

      Hi Rachel,

Yeah, I was surprised by Violetta too. I thought it would be more of a deep purple. It’s like a bluish pink magenta — very late ’80s. I think I may have had the same color, but in a Wet ‘n’ Wild lipstick back in the day. 🙂

Thanks! Do you think you’ll pick up either the red or the fuchsia?

I love the Red in the pan, and they all look great on you, but they’re just a bit too color saturated for me. And by “a bit”, I mean they terrify me. HAHA!

I’m late on all my series watching so I’m not judging you for 24. I’ve never seen a single ep either, despite the fact that people raved about it. 🙂

      Hi Kim,

It’s on Netflix right now! That’s why I’m watching it. Did you ever catch any of the new Netflix series? House of Cards with Kevin Spacey’s really good. So is Orange Is the New Black.

Lol life changing indeed! Some gel eyeliner with a flick and red lips and that’s ( almost) all I need to be out the door quick. I’ve been using physicians formula glossy stain. I like it for the the wear time if not the smell.

Not going to lie I’m drawn to the red and violet sets too.

While watching 24 you should get the 24 bingo cards online. It makes watching the “bad” seasons way more entertaining. Sometimes I found myself shouting the catch phrases with Jack Bauer when I got a bingo spot.

On a side note I’ve never seen anything more than an episode or two of 24, heehee. Also, Deeply Adored looks absolutely gorgeous on you!

Karen, you diiiiiva 😀 Great pics. I really like the red trio. The other two palettes look pretty too but I probably wouldn’t wear the colors.

That is too funny what you said about 24, because I had never seen an episode before either, and about 6 months ago went Netflix crazy on it too!

I think if I had watched it when it originally was on tv, I would have gone crazy waiting a whole week in suspense, so all at once was probably way better for me!
