Keep an Eye Out for the Too Faced Summer Eye Summertime Sexy Shadow Collection

March 16th, 2012 by Karen 22 Comments

Earlier today, as I sat upstairs in my office staring out the window, I realized that I spend a lot of time staring out the window. 🙂

I’m pretty sure the neighbors think it’s creepy… I’ve caught them staring back a few times, but whatev. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, right? Letting my mind wander helps me work stuff out.

I have noticed that I think about different things depending on the weather. When it’s raining and overcast like it’s been this week, I keep getting distracted. Instead of contemplating lip plumpers, verbs and things I can photograph on top of Tabs, I’ve been daydreaming about summer, beaches and hanging out by the pool.

Thank goodness for the new Too Faced Summer Eye Summertime Sexy Shadow Collection ($36), which is really just a palette… It’s part of the new limited edition Too Faced Summer 2012 collection, and it’s been the only thing keeping the weather from getting me down.

The palette contains nine shimmery, summery shadows in beachy bronzes and browns, accented with warm coral, pink and teal (here are the swatches). It also has a few how-to cards that show how to create three different eye looks.

The palette has a good mix of neutrals and brights for a wide range of summer eye looks, which is cool because for the past couple seasons, it seemed like Too Faced was doing palettes with a lot of nude shades, maybe on account of Urban Decay’s Naked.

The Summer Eye Summertime Sexy Shadow palette’s got a whole kit and caboodle of fun, summery shades. I always love browns, bronzes and golds, but there’s room in my heart for colors like teals and corals, too.

Some of the glittery shades, like Peach Fuzz and Sunbeam, exhibit some fallout, but for the most part I think these powder shadows blend well and stick to my skin. And with the help of a good primer, they stay put all day long.

I love the colors here. Even with a little fallout, I’m really enjoying this palette.

PRICE: $36
AVAILABILITY: Coming soon to Sephora stores and toofaced.com

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Okay, El Hub and I just got back from seeing 21 Jump Street at the movies, and I haven’t laughed that hard in… I can’t even remember the last time I laughed that hard!

Silly, silly movie, but so much fun. There are just so many random, weird scenes with dudes emerging out of limos as doves take flight behind them, slow-speed bicycle chases and exploding chickens.

Good popcorn flick. 🙂

Have you tried on Coral Crush yet? That’s the shade I am most drawn to, but I am also not sure how wearable it would be.

    The teal looks awesome though!

Oooo I love that teal! I think I own too many similar colors to warrant owning the entire palette, but I definitely have to start looking for a good teal. Any recommendations Karen?

Tonight I’ve got a show I’m performing in (an onstage production of The Tender Trap) and I feel a little lucky that my main costume, a stylish 1950’s dress, is all green ^__^ No one will have cause to pinch me backstage!

I have been super obsessed about Too Faced as of late. I am slowly acquiring their palettes. I really like their shadows. They last forever. I once said I never really was into bronzer, but, I found that Too Faced’s is perfect….am interested to see their new shade. Some of their matte eyeshadows can be a bit lacking in pigment and messy to blend, but overall I am super impressed.

I don’t remember 21 Jump St (on TV) being a comedy but I would be motivated to see this film.
BTW- I really love your hair like this, wavy with the side swept bang, it is so flattering.

Hope you enjoy you St Patty’s day!

Teals look like one of the strongest trends this season. I’m going to be wearing a lot of teal and turquoise, I love how it brightens up the look without looking overly so. The the palette looks great!

Oooh, can’t wait to get my hands on this palette! Mermaid is such a pretty shade.

Just saw “21 Jump Street” this morning, so funny. It was a perfect movie to watch for the rainy day we had here in LA. Not to mention Channing Tatum is such a hottie 😉

I want this palette. I am really loving the teal color. I am also interested in the body bronzer. I think it would be nice on my dark complexion.

It’s so pretty. I’m getting this addiction to buying Too Faced palettes, so I need to use them more.
It feels like spring where I am, not sure if I want the summer heat yet.
