My friend, please note.

Should you ever find yourself feeling like this:

Fussy face

Or like this, completely unable to focus:

Or, should you ever just want that nagging voice in your head that causes you to doubt yourself to simply shut the f*ck up, listen to this:

Or eat a bowl of this:

Love Yourself Soup

Or laugh at this:

Or, if you’re so inclined, slip on a little bit of this: the new JK Jemma Kidd Red Carpet Lip/Cheek Tint & Gloss, available in Dress Up and Glam Up ($18 each).

Swatches from the left: the clear gloss, 01 Glam Up Lip/Cheek Tint, 02 Dress up Lip/Cheek Tint, and Benefit Benetint (for comparison)

I find that even on my worst days, a dash of cheek/lip color always perks me up.

JK Jemma Kidd Red Carpet Lip/Cheek Tint & Gloss

  • A sheer liquid lip/cheek stain with a roller-ball applicator on one end, and a clear lipgloss with a doe-foot applicator on the other
  • Methinks the unscented, unflavored liquid excels as a lip tint; it applies evenly all over my lips (and fades evenly, too)
  • As a cheek tint, it applies patchy on me, emphasizing any dry flakes I might have, and it takes a while to blend on top of either bare skin or liquid foundation
  • The clear, non-drying gloss goes on smoothly and has a non-sticky, medium-weight texture that I like; it’s also unscented and unflavored

I probably won’t be using these as cheek tints, but that’s because my lips want them all to themselves. 🙂 Mad props to JK Jemma Kidd for opening my eyes to the joy of lip products with roller-ball applicators. Dang, feels so good…

PRICE: $18 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Target stores

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Thanks for the nice thoughts earlier today, holmes. I feel much better now. Hope you’re having a nice night. I’m about to do my nails now on the floor while I finish watching an episode of Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (he’s in Southie). See you soon.

You fussy face is adorable Karen! Love the way you styled your hair too.

Glam up doesn’t exactly wow me on the cheeks but it does look fab on the lips!

      Hi Stacey,

These are really fun as lip tints. Have you tried any JK Jemma Kidd products before?

I don’t actually own any Jemma Kidd products but seeing all your swatches has got me wondering if I need to change that. I would love a good lip tint!

02 looks like a very pretty color, even redder than Benefit Benetint!

    Hope you are feeling better.

Maybe I haven’t been reading MBB enough (impossible) but something looks different about you Karen. It’s a good different though! I think it’s the brows, is it the brows?!

It probably won’t be a problem if your cheeks aren’t as dry as mine, Jen.

How does it differ from Benetint’s Pocket Pal? It’s the same price and I’d just as soon stick with a product I know works.

Benetint works better on my cheeks both on bare skin and on top of liquid foundation. If you’re using it as a cheek tint and like it you might want to just stick with it.

Glad you’re feeling better today 🙂 Ohhhhh and you know what put me over the edge with my Gosling love? This clip of him salsa dancing with Ellen on her show. Doesn’t help that he says the name Ellen, either. I’m embarassed to admit how many times I watched that…there are just too many things with that guy. LE SIGH.

Oooh, these are pretty! Then again, between Benetint, Posietint, and ChaChatint, I probably have my tints covered.

I’ve never actually seen No Reservations even though I adore Anthony Bourdain (and I just ordered Kitchen Confidential for my new kindle, yay). His Top Chef blog is quite possibly the best reason to watch the show.

Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
