I’ve Fallen for the Fergie Fallen Boot

October 6th, 2011 by Karen 48 Comments

fergie fallen boots

Why, cruel world!? Why is it so much easier to gain the weight than it is to lose it?

Last month, as part of my latest quest to get healthier, I resorted to good old-fashioned bribery (whatever works, right?). I told myself that I could get a new pair of boots if I exercised at least 24 days during the month…

And I did it! 🙂

So, last weekend I stopped by the new Novato DSW to select my prize, and I walked away with this snazzy suede olive pair of, quite possibly, the greatest boots I’ve ever owned.

Oh, and here’s the kicker: they’re made by Fergie! — as in Fergilicious, her body stays vicious; she be up in the gym working on her fitness. Yes, THAT Fergie.

fergie fallen boots

Okay, well, something tells me she probably didn’t make them herself, but I bet she had something to do with the design…

It’s actually kind of funny because I walked past these Fallen Wedge boots by Fergie ($139.95) a few times before finally reaching down to pick them up. “Fergie makes shoes?” I wondered. “I dunno if I’m ready for that…” I mean, I love her music and have run many, many miles listening to her songs, but the Fergie-footwear connection seemed like a stretch.

I’m really glad I gave in, though, and decided to try them on, because they’re the kind of boots you can just pull out of the box, slip on and comfortably walk around a museum all day long. The soft, flexible suede (I can’t stand stiff boots, ugh!) and sturdy 3 1/4-inch stacked wedge heel keeps them comfy at a manageable height. Great arch support, too.

I spotted them in two colors at DSW, a Taupe and Black. I went with the Taupe, which looks more like an olive to me, but I’ve also seen them online in brown.

As you know, I’m a freak show about my toes and cannot STAND oppressively snug footwear, but these boots have a roomy, rounded toe area that allows me to wiggle my monkey paws as much as I want. 🙂

Plus, I adore all of the little details, like the zipper on the back of the heel, which, as far as I can tell, doesn’t serve a practical purpose (sure looks cute though) and the layering around the ankle.

I’ve read a couple of reviews that claim that Fallen’s boots fit true to size, but I still ended up going a half size up, just to head off any potential toe issues, and because I like to wear thick socks with my boots in winter.

One of the sales associates at DSW told me that if they can’t find a size at the store, they can order and ship it to you for $0 shipping (not to be your boot pusher or anything).

PRICE: $139.95
AVAILABILITY: Available now at DSW Shoe Warehouse stores and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+

Kudos to the sun today for showing up to work (YAY!). I was nearly blinded by the light when I walked outside this morning. It was glorious!

Big sigh… It’s gonna be tough during those long stretches of cloudy weather later this year, but on the plus side, it means I’ll probably be spending more time with makeup indoors.

Oh, what do you think about the Ides of March? It opens tomorrow, which is great timing because my Ryan Gosling reserves are running dangerously low.

Ryan in a suit. Hot.

Karen

I’m with Lauren…these are a bit pricey, especially if I plan to buy more than 1 pair of boots this season, so I might wait for a sale or something. But they are gorgeous!

They’re nice, but I wouldn’t pay $140 for them. A lot of people debate about whether they’ll buy a product if a celeb puts their name on it. I am the kind of person who WON’t buy something if a certain celeb puts their name on it.

Yeah, as soon as I saw that first picture of you wearing them, I needed to know who made dem boots! They’re crazy hot. I have a pair kinda similar, but with buckles (called Hadiyah by Blowfish) and I wore them all winter.

Ok… so I found these online in Canada, but they were out of my size. Soo… I called them up and asked if they would get more in stock and lo and behold…. THEY HAD MY SIZE!!! I scooped them straight up! AND they were on sale!! It’s my lucky day! 🙂

Do they fit snug around the upper calf? I hate my boots to fit like upside down bells, lol

Very cute! Last year when I bought $300 Cole Haan boots in black AND brown, I told myself no boots this year! I did buy a pair of Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s flat lace up boots this year, but they were only $30. (I needed flat boots!) Anyway, have you seen Ryan Gosling in Drive? So hot! A must see if you consider yourself a Ryan Gosling fan!

So cute, Karen. That makes me wish for normal sized feet… but I have a great shoe store for little feet and thank goodness for parents still living in HK where I can have copies made 🙂 Am currently saving up for a flat pair that are full length and lined in sheepskin! But they’re painfully expensive with the £ – $ exchange rate 🙁

Tabs also looked very nice and coordinated next to those boots.

I thought there might be a racy scene or two because my friend was watching it earlier in the year on HBO or something. It was about 2 in the AM and she couldn’t sleep so she turned it on in her room and got interested. Sometimes her boys (9 & 7) will jump into bed with her and her husband but she thought everyone was asleep. At one point, she heard her 9 year old’s voice say “um, Mom, I think this movie is too old for me”. She said she just about died and thought she was going to have to have “the talk” a little early. 🙂

Mmmm! These look spiffy. I’m having some boot-clothing problems and I hope you can help. 1) I love those booties (and many like them) but I can’t figure out what cut of pants to wear. 90% of my pants are GAP jeans in Curvy, a boot cut. Which if I try to stuff inside boots gives me fabric-pressure points. Too much jean in too small boot. 2) I loath skinny jeans. They’re all very snug in the thighs and I hate that. My thighs are curvy man! *shakes booty* So what’s a girl to do?

You just have to own it! They are cool boots, I love them, too. My favorite pair of heels are these gorgeous silver with a slight iridesence heeled mary janes made by Jessica Simpson. I didn’t want to tell anyone that was the brand, but I get asked about them all of the time and I’ve had them for a few years now. They’re not only cute, but the only pair of comfortable heels I own.
