I’m Having a Maritime with These $5 Rimmel Glam’Eyes Trio Eye Shadows

February 17th, 2011 by Karen 60 Comments

Karen of Makeup and Beauty Blog wearing Rimmel Glam Eyes Trio Eye Shadow in Maritime

It’s Maritime, young lady. 🙂 Get ready to set sail on a Trio hour tour aboard the USS Glam’Eyes. The ship is bound for the The Land of Cheap Makeup Thrills, and Captain Rimmel’s at the helm.

I absolutely love Rimmel’s Glam’Eyes Mono shadow singles, so I’ve really been looking forward to trying their new Glam’Eyes line of trios ($5 each). Maritime, one of four trios in the line, is a sea of blues designed to bring out the best in brown eyes.

These shadows, like the singles, feel super soft and pack loads of pigment, while still blending like a dream. As good as that sounds, though, I actually think the singles apply a tad more evenly. With these, I get a few uneven patches of color along with some fallout beneath my eyes, but considering how affordable they are, it’s not a deal breaker for me.

If you’re in the mood to try some new eye colors but don’t care to invest a lot of money into it now, you could do A LOT worse than the Rimmel Glam’Eyes Trio Eye Shadows.

PRICE: $5 each

Old school Tabs

Happy Friday Eve! 🙂 Is it just me, or has this week gone by in a blur? I’m not complaining, of course.

Question for the pet people among us: do you keep old photos of your furry pals? I was looking through some old pictures of Tabs and found this one from 2008. I think he was in the later stages of kittenhood here and was about half as rotund as he is now (feel free to ignore my hideous Thanksgiving-themed workout clothes).

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Yep, this week has flown by in one big, water-logged blur! Karen, are you as over this rain as I am? Supposedly it’s clearing up for the weekend.

I don’t really have pictures of Missy. She’s not open to posing for pictures and I don’t have a decent camera. I just have a few images of her on my cell phone. She seems to have “expanded” at about the same rate as Tabs, though. It couldn’t be that we’re spoiling them, could it?

      Hi Heidi,

YES, I’m so over this psycho weather. Did you have the alternating hail/sunshine combo the other day?

Aww… I like how you put “expanded” in quotes. Maybe Missy and Tabs are just “big boned.” 🙂

Got hail and pouring rain just as I was going out to do the one errand I had to run this week, bank and mailbox. Made for some really fun driving.

Did you guys lose power at any point. We were out for 3 1/2 hours on Tuesday night!

Aw, that’s a shame that there’s fallout. I just can’t deal with it! It’s too irritating.

That’s such a cute photo! Old cat photos are great. Believe me, I’ve taken and saved approximately 85792837598273 photos of my kitties over the years. It’s really fun to look back at them :).

This morning, I decided to wear blue and turquoise. I wanted to put eyeshadow in the same color but I had no idea on how to put it. So, I put nothing just mascara and khol.
But next time, I know what to do 😉

      Hi Miss Preity,

You could try doing the turquoise on the inner lid and the blue on the outer and then maybe your favorite neutral matte in the crease. That’s the easiest way I know to do color, and its super wearable.

Hmm the colours are a bit pale for me (would have liked some navy in there) but I agree with the quality of Rimmel’s eyeshadows. I recently picked up a taupish/shimmery brown eyeshadow in the sales and it’s GREAT! Exactly the flattering neutral-y shade I’d been after for years.

And yes, in the family we have at least as many pictures of us as of the cats. Well, they’re part of the family after all!
