I’m Bringing Jelly Beans to My China Glaze Island Escape

March 28th, 2011 by Karen 43 Comments

china glaze island escape

With a name like Island Escape, China Glaze’s new nail polish collection could be about bright, tropical colors, but the sugar fiend in me can’t help but see jelly beans in these bottles.

The six-piece summer collection (about $5 per bottle) features a rainbow of tropical candy colors — four shimmers (108 Degrees, Cha Cha Cha, Senorita Bonita and Blue Iguana), which require two coats to reach full opacity, and two creams (Papaya Punch and Electric Pineapple), which take three.

If you were wondering, yes, I did eat these jelly beans :), starting with the popcorn ones first (they’re my fave!).

I’ve had excellent luck with China Glaze polishes over the years; they’re some of the sturdiest and most chip-resistant polishes I’ve tried. They get the texture and consistency just right — it’s not too thick nor thin — and they don’t skimp on the pigment.

Which China Glaze Island Escape shade is your favorite?

Licorice is the worst! It’s awesome when you meet someone that likes it though because then they can eat all the jelly beans you don’t like 🙂

ahh I love how you did this photoshoot with jellybeans! Normally, I would gravitate towards Cha Cha Cha, but I’m pretty sure I already have 2 exact dupes for it. I’m eyeing Blue Iguana right now! I love bright/light shimmery blues 🙂

I like them all but the purple and blue ones are my favorite.

Karen – while debating on which to vote for, I was confused. In the voting you have Blue Iguana as the blue, but in the swatches of bottles and fingers you have Blue Iguana as the purple. But I’m torn between Senorita Bonita and Blue Iguana anyway so it doesn’t change much for me.

    Now I want jelly beans.

Electric Pineapple, finally an opaque neon lime! I love these colors so much, I’m going to head on over to Sally Beauty Supply tomorrow to see if they’re there! I’m not a jellybean fan at all, I think they are beautiful to look at, but I don’t eat them. My husband likes the popcorn flavor.

I have all of them but Electric Pineapple. So impressed was I by the vibrant colours that I bought a new pair of flip flops. I shouldn’t have done that. The next day we were dumped on by snow that has yet to melt. What can I say, its Alberta. My husband said I caused it to snow by aquiring sandals. 🙂

The kitties are happy and healthy. The Orange One is currently sleeping on my essay papers, preventing me from doing homework. Tabs looks handsome as always, pearls suit him. Is the Shu Uemura lash curler new, or was the old one located?

It’s a new one that belongs to Tabs (haha). The old one is still MIA! Aww, give The Orange One a snuggle for me. Tabs is currently sitting on my lap with his front paws/girth draped over my right arm. It makes it hard to type.
