Hip, Hip, Hooray! Three Sheers for Becca Glossy Lip Tint

July 22nd, 2010 by Karen 58 Comments

becca glossy lip tint review

Okay, where’ve the Becca Glossy Lip Tints ($23) been all my life? Seriously, did you know about these? I guess they’ve been around for years, covertly gliding under my radar with their non-sticky, long-lasting and oh-so-shiny texture, and I’ve been woefully out of the loop.

Wet like juicy jelly, they should be perfect on days when all I want is a sheer (but not too sheer) wash of color.

This week I tried three of the 25 shades on for size…

You know the MAC Lip Gelees (LOVE THOSE!)? I think these have a similarly wet finish and that same cushiony feel on the lips.

They might be a tad drying (unflavored but smell faintly of watermelon) compared to the Lip Gelees, but that’s easy to enough remedy with the help of a moisturizing balm or lipstick worn underneath.

If your kisser, like mine, craves non-sticky glosses with sheer color and dazzling shine, you just might like these a lot. Available at Pure Beauty stores and online beccacosmetics.com. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+/A-

What are you up to tonight? I’m over here letting my mind rot watching the new Real World. It’s the same thing over and over, isn’t it? But I can’t resist… Add young’ns, booze and boobs, rinse and repeat. The formula hasn’t changed in years, le sigh.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I love cherry bomb! I just got home from Old navy!! They had a HUGE sale! Saved over $100! Now I’m relaxing to some Paramore, playing Assassin’s Creed, and waiting on Hubby to come home from work. A very good day for me! You??

I haven’t been there for a minute. Maybe I need to hit it up tomorrow!

My day was okay… the afternoon was kinda rough (PMS, yadda yadda yadda) but now it’s getting better.

      Onward to Friday, WOOT!

Cherry bomb looks pretty nice,I always have a soft spot for lip gloss with fruity name/color…Anyway, I rarely buy high-end sheer glosses because…they are sheer anyway.

It’s hard to pick because they come up with new ones all the time, anyway right now I am loving L’Oreal colour juice in raspberry smash (a cherry red that shows quite well while not being over-the-top) and their jelly balm in plush(kind of gives a jelly bean’s finish) . Revlon super lustrous lip glosses are among my favorites as well!

I missed the boat on the lip gelees, never heard of them! I’ve also never heard of Becca. These seem like they’d be a good intro to the line!

I’m uploading pictures to my Flickr account and then hitting the hay. Family reunion tomorrow & Saturday! You know how Filipino parties are, right? 🙂 I’m expecting to gain 10 pounds over the weekend.

As for Becca, they make some great stuff. I like their stick foundation and tinted moisturizer too!

The Non-Blonde blog mentioned a code today for 25% off till mid-August for a site called Beautyhabit that carries the whole Becca line! I was thinking about getting the Shimmering Skin Perfector (I heard it was a really natural looking highlighter), but I might have to add one (or a few?) of these glosses to my list as well!!

I love the couple Becca things I have – I just wish the brand was easier to find in the US! Cherry Bomb looks super cute.

LOL, I watched Real World on my TiVo last night also. While eating Doritos. Not sure which is worse for me.

    Happy Friday!

A few years back Sephora stocked the *entire* line. I was so bummed when they pulled them out of stores.

As for The Real World, I have NO IDEA why I keep watching. It’s so trashy! Remember how innocent the very first season was in comparison? I used to have the biggest crush on Eric.

I actually didn’t watch the first season – I started watching at season 12 – Las Vegas. so my real world exposure has been trashy from the start, LOL!

The first couple of seasons (New York and San Francisco) were really, REALLY different. The producers actually chose people who seemed real (LOL… they had jobs and everything!). They also focused on other things besides hookups and drinking.

But I guess they stopped doing that because all the scandalous stuff pulls in ratings…

OMG. You must have been reading my mind. I LOVE Becca glosses. I only have one (Caipiroska) that I am in absolute love with and I have been trying to get my hands on a few more. I hear that they are now carrying Becca in some select Duane Reade stores in NYC (where I work)…I think a little lunchtime trip is in order (hhaaaay!) LOL.
