Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick in Rosy Silk Floats Like a Shimmery Pink and Gold Kiss on the Wind

February 26th, 2015 by Karen 20 Comments

Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick in Rosy Silk
Guerlain KissKiss Lipstick in Rosy Silk ($37)

If I were wearing Guerlain’s KissKiss Lipstick in Rosy Silk ($37) and blew a kiss across a room to a handsome stranger (let’s call him Nick Jonas), that kiss would drift off my lips and float like a shimmery pink and gold apparition.

The featherweight formula is eminently forgettable…in that I forget sometimes when I’m wearing it because it’s so comfortable.

But the color is anything but forgettable. The slightly see-through pink with golden shimmer alights on my skin like sunshine filtering through the petals of a blooming cherry blossom tree, tender and romantic, ah…

I think one layer works best, which I apply directly from the tube, and then pat down with a finger. When I add more layers, they don’t help, and the formula starts to seek out flakes and settle into my lip lines.

Oh, I know where this shade wants to go…

It wants to go on a date! Picture it: a warm afternoon a few weeks from now, and you’re wearing a flowing floral print dress (ideally one with pockets, so you can take KissKiss along with you for touchups, which you’ll probably need to do every few hours) and strappy sandals. Nick Jonas is on my arm…

Wait — I meant your arm. This is supposed to be your fantasy. 🙂

If you’d like to wear Rosy Silk, don’t delay, because it’s a limited edition shade ($37), available now at Guerlain counters and online.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. How’s it going, my friend? I hope you’re having a good week so far.

This is really pretty! I like how delicate it is. I am up for a date and I even have a flower print dress and it does have pockets! Hope you’re having a nice day, Karen!

Or a date with friends! Too bad you don’t live closer!

And isn’t it funny how something as simple as pockets takes a dress to the next level? I wish all my dresses had pockets.

Yes, I wish I lived closer too! We could have a picnic on the beach and chat about makeup and life!

I agree, every dress should have pockets. I haven’t even worn the flower dress yet, it’s too cold but it also has a bow belt. I think it’s a perfect dress!

A walk in the spring with desire, pockets, touch-ups – it’s taking me in a totally different direction!!

My pigmented lips would need the Tarte Clay concealer (that you love) on them first to let this delightful shade do its thing.

When you start the day with The Gabrielle “sounding” the alarm (wide bleary blue eyes) for the UPS driver who then arrives and hands you the box from Chanel – it had better be a good day or you just aren’t trying!

I bought the Stylo Yeux Waterproof eyeliner in Perle de Lune (Moon Pearl – would go with your Winter Glow/Shimmer Glow from D&G). I am also expecting the Rouge Allure Virevoltante (circling, like round-and-round). With the snow in the south, packages are moving slow though!

If it was my fantasy, I’d be nowhere Nick Jonas! I think it’s an excellent picnic lipstick! The whole look just says “laid back and outside, stuffing my face with melon” to me!

Oh, you make me laugh and we’re apparently on the same page because I was like “what do you mean *my* arm? Whose fantasy is this?”. HAHA!

This shade is very nice on you and I can see all the makeup lines are on your side with the pink lippies. I should have known I’d be flying solo with the anti-pink lip. 😉 Of course, I don’t really mean that – pink looks great on nearly everyone but me.

The week is chugging along and I just got off the phone with a coworker in southern CA who was kind enough to end with “oh, hey, just wanted to let you know it’s 80 today”. Bragger. HAHA!

I would prefer to be blowing kisses to Chris Pratt instead of Nick Jonas, but I digress.

Mommy’s been looking for something that is shimmery, but not too shimmery – and I like the fact that you mentioned it’s super lightweight. Will definitely be checking this out.

She wanted to buy the new Anastasia lipstick – but Sephora Canada doesn’t carry it yet, so she’s gonna go and get this one instead.

OMG Karen. I just ordered this and I’m so in love. It’s the perfect “I’m sweet, but I’ll f**k you up” color.

    …

    Is that just me? 😀

P.S. Imma go ahead and insert Jamie Dornan into my fantasy (the movie sucking doesn’t make him any less hawt)

OMG you make me laugh – love you girl! Sadly, I treated myself to a KISS KISS lippie a while back, Golden Girl? may have been the name. It really was pretty and I wanted to love it but sadly it didn’t like my lips and I ended up returning it.

I think I find that I actually prefer lipstick that I CAN feel. Then I am more apt to touch up when I need to. LOL And, when they are thinner, for some reason they just dry out my lips.

    This is VERY pretty though.

    Hi Karen!
I was looking at this post while my mum was passing by. She stopped, looked at the screen, and said, “ooooohhh…that is a very pretty shade.” Although it is quite light, in my ‘fantasy’ world I can wear it. lalalalala…….hhehehe

Happy Friday! (Yes it is my friday too!)

Hugs from the Great Up North!

    P.S. I am visiting San Fran in August!! 😀 😀 😀

Welcome to Makeup and Beauty Blog
Hi there! I’m Karen, your friendly neighborhood beauty addict, and I’m a Bay Area girl who hoards brown eyeshadow and covets coral lipstick. Every morning, I wake up and say, “I’m going to do something other than a smoky eye today.” Then…I end up doing a smoky eye anyway (most days). When I’m not putting on makeup, taking pictures of makeup or writing about makeup, which I’ve been doing daily since 2007 (!), you’ll find me hanging out with my hubby (“El Hub”), my four-year-old daughter (Connor Claire) and my torbie girl cat (Pretty Girl Rosie, a.k.a.
