Current Foundation Love: Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation [VIDEO]

March 27th, 2015 by Karen 18 Comments

Gurl, I can’t even… This foundation!? It is SO good that I haven’t even touched my previous holy grail, Laura Mercier Flawless Fluide in Chai, in weeks.

And before finding this, I was all about that Chai. I’m talking months of Karen + Chai. We were inseparable.

Aww! Now I’m actually starting to feel a little bad about it. Poor Chai, all neglected and lonely, abandoned like an old toy. 🙁

LOL! But I do kind of feel like we’ve broken up, and that I should do the things that broken up couples do, like go to over to Chai’s house to get my CDs, clothes and pizza pie pans.

We’re just on a break though. I still ❤ Chai.

Anywho…

Dior. Foundation. Amazing-ness. I go into it more in this video, but here are the main points: finish, formula and pores. Nude Air has a velvety finish and medium coverage, but you can build it up to just shy of full. It’s not a flat matte, and I’m loving that about it, because these days my primary objective is obtaining natural-looking, radiant skin.

Available in eight shades (I wear the one called Honey Beige)

Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation Shades

As for the formula, it’s kind of hard to explain… Compared to traditional liquid foundations, it’s thinner and more watery, which sounds kind of lame, I know. A runny foundation? Eww! Way to make my life more difficult, right?

But it’s not like that at all. If I work a few drops into my skin with my fingers and let it set, my freckles and pigmented patches are evened out, and yet it doesn’t look I’m wearing a ton of caked-on makeup.

And pores? PORES. It doesn’t erase them or anything (That would be pure makeup magic right there… If somebody can figure that out, they’ll make a fortune, LOL!), but damn if mine don’t look smaller and less agro.

I’ll go ahead and call this holy grail. Because it totally is.

Products mentioned in the video

Anyway, more deets in the video. Thank you again for watching. 🙂

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

You look glowy and lovely! I’m waiting for the spring Sephora sale next month to stock up on goodies (namely MD Solar Sciences BB cream, and likely First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Liquid Concentrate). The bb cream has very sheer coverage, but great UV protection and blurring properties. I trade off between that and SkinCeuticals depending on my mood, and right now I’m more into the MD Solar Sciences. However, they both did pretty great on my trip to Florida.

Hi Karen, thank you for your videos. I love them. Are there any drugstore foundations that you would recommend?

I will ask for a sample next time I am in town. Everyone raves about it, but I am a little worried regarding the color selection.

I know, right! SOMEONE INVENT A PORE ERASER PLEASE! I’d chop of my right toe to get rid of those unsightly pores, sigh. This foundation sounds really great. I love that it’s so light and natural.

I’m with you on this. This THE best foundation I’ve ever tried in my entire life, period! I was so disappointed with Dior’s previous foundation launch, Star, that I wasn’t really expecting anything good, but they really hit it out of the park with Nude Air Serum.

I really want to try this, keep hearing good things about it and looks lovely on you. I wished there was Dior counter or Sephora here. I’ve had such a hard time finding a good foundation, my face seems to do strange things (oompaa lumpa or raisinnettes)

I had just received mine from a Sephora shipment this past week and am debating if the color my Color IQ says (Peach) is too, well, peachy on me. I love the foundation though. It goes on so smoothly! And it’s weird because it does come out so liquid-y but blends so well. I’m going to take it to my local Sephora tomorrow and see if I should change it to Linen (I wrote to Sephora and they mentioned I may need to switch) but I’ll get their fabulous sales staff’s opinion first 🙂 It’s really a nice foundation – if you can get a sample of it I highly recommend it!

Isn’t there such a feeling of triumph one feels when having discovered or stumbled over just the right shade/consistency/coverage of foundation?

Does anyone know if this foundation works on oily skin?

Lisa – I have oily skin, and it definitely works. I do need to set the foundation around my T-zone, but once I’ve done that, it lasts all day. To put it in context, you know when you have to run to an event directly from the office, and rush to the bathroom to do a quick base touch up that all oily girls need to? With this foundation, I actually find myself just swiping on some lipstick and walking off, coz it stays put. I wear Honey Beige like Karen, as well.

So how do you apply it? Fingers? Beauty Blender? Brush? Karen, what setting powder do you use? I’ve been using the Bareskin by BM and I think I really need to try this Dior foundation.

Karen, I am SO HAPPY I came across your blog! I searched for “YouTube Honey Beige Nude Air” and omg, here you are! It has been SO difficult to find videos from women with my skin tone!! Yayyyyy! Keep them coming, girl. I’m ordering my Nude Air in Honey Beige right now!

I have just bought this after reading various glowing reviews. I really like it but I have found so far that it goes very oily in the t-zone. I’m wondering what powder you use with yours, and if you have tried the matching nude air powders? I really like the effect of this as it is lighter than my Bobbi brown BB Cream. I do find that it doesn’t cover my pores as well as my max factor infinity 3 in 1 foundation, concealer and primer but I think that with the right powder I will fall head over heels for this as the effect on the skin is just beautiful.
