diorshow extase review top

New Mascara from
Dior — I don’t know how to
Pronounce your name, oy.

diorshow extase review brush

Ex-tazz? Ex-tazz-ay?
Charge that to my credit card.
Twenty-eight bucks, please.

diorshow extase review none-final

Lengthening — oh, yes.
The curl hold? Most excellent.
Volume is just … eh.

diorshow extase review one-final

Smudges just a tad;
Swipe the brush against tissue
And then it’s gone, yay!

diorshow extase review two-layers

Great length, but I want
More thickness for the price tag.
MBB Rating…

Love the haikus Karen! And thanks for the review. I guess I’ll be sticking to the DiorShow Iconic.

I haven’t had the chance to comment lately. I am glad you keep me updated with MBB through Twitter! Helps me out a lot! Ha! As for the product – I agree with your rating & the mascara lacking in thickness. But I looove Dior mascara (Very rarely do I find products I favor above MAC).

Hm. I’m not sure how lengthening it actually is without a comparison picture lol, but I would say my Kiss Me Heroine Long & Curl beats Extase’s socks off and it only costs $15

Great review, love the haikus! I guess that is one less mascara that I want to try out. Thanks Karen, for saving me some CAD $30. 🙂

ex- TAH -ze maybe? Since I remember back in the dog days our French teacher told us when there is one s it’s pronouced “z” and when there are two S, it’s “S” or was it the other way around?

It does seem a bit standard for 28 bucks…

From the looks of it….it would lengthen my lashes as much as my CG LashBlastLenth does……so thanks for saving me the money!!

P.S. I have to admit, I never really understand the Haiku……I never “get” it……

Thanks for the review Karen! I really wanted to read more reviews about this mascara, because I was thinking of buying it. I read the review of Temptalia but I’ve also heard not so great news from other girls. The part with the lengthening sounds great but I don’t see so much volume and thickness as I would like. Being a Dior mascara and especially for this price I would expect to do more than just lengthen my eyelashes.

Hmm, that’s a toughy. For a long time I was stuck on Clinique High Impact Curling Mascara and Stila Lash Visor, but now I’m sort of in a mascara din, LOL! I’ve been alternating between this on, the new MAC Studio Fix Lash and Benefit Bad Gal Mascara. Truth be told I should just start layering them with each other… that would probably get the best result.

What mascara are you using now? Do you like it?

LOL! It took some getting used to. I kinda like it now, though. And I like how the brush head on the Iconic tapers off, but it seems like I have to wipe away tons of excess on that one. The Iconic is mostly a lengthening formula as well, it seems. Oh, and I tried Blackout as well–major raccoon eyes! Nope, the original is the best, IMHO. Crazy big brush head and all! 🙂

Hi Karen, seeing that Dior is French, I’d say it’s Ex-tas, which means ecstasy. By the way, has anyone asked you what’s the difference between this and the Iconic yet?

Gah, Karen, I would kill for your natural lashes. Two coats barely gets me to your “naked” lash state! Alas. But I think Lash Blast is really the best thing for girls with puny thin lashes like mine, because it has that flexible-polymer quality to it, so it lengthens and thickens while still looking natural. You actually have to work at being messy to get spider-eyes, whereas that “sticky mascara” look happens to me all the time with other brands/formulas. It’s drugstore makeup, but if it works, who cares?

    Hi Karen!

    Extase is a French word.

The exact pronounciation would be :

    Ex-tâ-se

But this is French, so for an anglophone… I guess you will need a bit more explaination…

    Ex = X
tâ = you have to soften the a… in English the ‘A’ usually sounds like ‘hey’ but here, you want to make it sound like the first syllabe of ‘hasard’ (ha)… So the full sound would be ‘tha’, keeping it mind the ‘ha-sard’ sound…
se = … this is the hardest. se = ze, but here again, you need to make the ‘E’ sound a bit more French. Here you will have to pronouce the E like ‘euh’ …

I hope this little French pronounciation help you!

    Have a nice week-end!

    Catherine
