Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss Is Shining a Light on Lips With Mega Moisture, Wear Time and Shine

Okay, let’s just get this out of the way: yes, these Dior Addict Ultra-Glosses ($28) make your jeans fit a little funny.

I giggled the first time I saw it. 🙂 The bulky rectangular tubes could pass for potion props on the set of a Harry Potter movie! Oh, no Voldemort. I’d stuck one in a front pocket the other day and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror.

“Uh…what’s that bulge?”

Not exactly streamlined — but they sure look adorable in makeup bags and purses.

As for how well they work, there’s nothing funny about it. I’m addicted! — in a good way, though. Not in the “I can’t live if living is without you!” way where you throw a brick through your ex’s apartment window.

These mega moisturizing, super sparkly glosses have been accompanying me everywhere (although not usually in the front pocket of my pants), making my lips look juicy and plump with loads of moisture and a blinding spotlight-like shine.

I’ve tried five of the featherweight shades, including all three from the Summer Croisette collection, (Brown Panama, Orange Pareo and Pink Croisette).

What else can you tell me about the Dior Addict Ultra-Glosses?

  • They’re available in 18 colors of varying coverages spread out among three different finishes — soft GLOW, shimmering PEARL & vibrant FLASH.
  • They come with an easy-to-use brush applicator.
  • They’re non-sticky and smooth, and about as thick as a MAC Lipglass.
  • Wear time is off the charts! I get between 4-5 hours, and they will last through a meal.
  • The faint vanilla flavor and scent fades fast.
  • Even with how long they last, they don’t dry out my lips.
  • All five of the colors I’ve tried — Gold Sunrise, Brown Panama, Pretty Rose, Pink Croisette and Pareo Orange — range from sheer to medium opacity
  • They do have a subtle plumping effect that I feel more than I see.
  • But unlike some plumping glosses I’ve tried, they don’t make me squeal in pain.

Man, these are pricey, but for a non-sticky gloss, they do last a really long time, and Dior didn’t skimp on the sparkle or shine. For a luxurious long-wearing lipgloss, you don’t have to look any further than these.

Coming soon from Dior: The Summer Mix collection

dior summer mix

Dior is dropping some carefree colors on counters this June! The Summer Mix collection for lips and nails features eight sunny shades in a mix of new and re-promoted colors. Four Dior Addict Ultra-Glosses ($28 each) join four shades in a completely new line of nail polishes called Dior Vernis Gloss ($23 each), which offer a translucent, glossy formula Dior compares to sorbet. 🙂

Keep your eyes peeled and your nails ready for the Dior Vernis Glosses in Cosmo (a cheerful watermelon pink), Calypso (a bright candy apple red), Acapulco (a tarte lemon yellow) and Lagoon (a cool swimming pool blue); and the Dior Addict Ultra-Glosses in Rouge Croisiere (a happy red), Rose Bikini (a perfect pink), Orange Pareo (a shimmery bright orange) and Or Gold Sunrise (a shimmery pale gold).

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. I’m back from the dentist! There were no needles or nightmare scenarios this time. The doc just took some impressions of my teeth to make a set of teeth whitening trays.

Yup, my obsessive tea drinking comes with a price… Anywho, what was for lunch? I’m devouring some new MAC right now, nom, nom!

      Hi JennySue,

It’s actually mellowed out a little bit since my mom has been “borrowing” a few colors!

Are you a gloss gal, too?

I love Dior Ultra glosses. They are the best I’ve ever used for that nice shine, gloss and non sticky factor! I picked up Pareo Orange from the summer collection. Can’t wait to give it a go!

      Paris!

I can TOTALLY see you working these. Dior is just so very you.

Hope things on your end are well. Anything new/exciting to report?

My favourite glosses! Sadly Orange Pareo didn’t show up (besides the glitter) on my lips. I’m keeping my eyes open for Orange Bolero, maybe it will work. I’ve never tried a non-glitter one, I wonder what Rouge Croisiere will be like! I hope it has the same rich red payoff as Little Red Dress. Thanks for the summer preview.

      Hi Jennifer,

The creamy, non-glittery ones are nice. The color goes on very evenly and isn’t milky at all.

What shades are your go-tos, btw?

Major dork moment – first reaction was ‘OMG KAREN IS TALKING TO MEEEEE’. Ahem.

Glad to hear they’re not milky! That’s a major gloss peeve. I love Extravagant Grenadine for most days, and Little Red Dress for a night out!

You’re so cute, Jennifer! LOL! 😀

It’s not like I need another everyday gloss, but I’m gonna have to check out that Extravagant Grenadine next time I hit up Dior. One can never have enough easy to wear glosses, ya know? 🙂

How’s your Wednesday going? Mine’s been flying by!

Love Dior Addict lipsticks but have never bought a lip gloss yet. Pink Croisette and Pareo Orange look gorgeous! I’ll have to check these out on my next Sephora trip.

      Hi Amanda,

Dior makes some really great lip products. 🙂 Which Addict lipsticks are your go-tos?

I’m not normally a gloss girl (I don’t like the way overly shiny lips look on me) but Dior really does make great glosses. I can’t stand sticky glosses, and this is one of the few that passes that test.

    Hi Chelsea,

Amen to that! This is a really, really great gloss. Good thing since it’s so expensive, eek!

Happy Tuesday. Give Jiji a chin scratch for me. 🙂

Pretty Rose looks amazing!! Although I think Brown Panema will look better now on me with my hair. Changing my colour ways is hard!! I think all of them look lovely on you!
