Clarins Wonder Mint Mascara, aka the Teal Terror

May 10th, 2008 by Karen 18 Comments

Hi, homies! I’m at Macy’s right now buying eye makeup remover. I just saw this amazing teal-colored waterproof mascara from Clarins. The shade is Wonder Mint and it’s $23. Sadly, they are out of it right now, so no teal mascara for me! It’s pretty though, yah?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Sorry, but I sent this from my crackberry, hence the Blair Witch picture quality.

Wow that is teal! I want to try it!

When you wear color mascara do you use it on its own? Or with another color mascara?

When I read that you were in Macys I looked at my clock and was like wow she’s shopping really late. Then I remembered time difference.haha I can’t subtract hours but I can add hours for my friends in Iraq.haha

That’s fierce, but in a good way! I’ve always had black mascara only, but recently I’ve been feeling a bit blue *lol* aka I think I’mma buy blue mascara some day just to see how it works. 😀 I’ve got blue eyes so it’ll either make them pop or then not. Have you found the perfect blue mascara yet?

    Hi Bridget,

Colored mascara is totally new to me! When I get my tube (hopefully today — gonna hit up another counter) then I am going to try both of those methods. I’ll let ya know which one works better. You know I’m all about makeup experiments!

BTW, did you finish your unit plan? I hope so!

    Hi Aleks,

I’m still looking! Sometimes I think half the fun of makeup is the search, for *the* perfect product, ya know?

I’ve read in the past that contrasting colors make eyes pop…I would want to put an eggplant shade on your lashes, or maybe green (pretty!). How’s things, btw? Are you ready for your graduation party?

    Hi Holly,

I know! I got all excited when I saw it at the counter. I have a good friend who swears by their lipsticks, and I’ve been curious about the color line for some time now. The summer collection has some pretty waterproof pencils (there’s a purple shade that’s gorgeous), too. I’m going to visit another counter to see if I can get that mascara today!

    Hi Karen,
If you are in the market for a waterproof eyeliner you HAVE to try the Chanel!! I hope you have it over there because it is AMAZING honestly one of the best pieces in the whole collection and there is a gorgeous purple shade! My friends at the clarins, ysl and clinique counters even swear by them!!

    Hey ya and happy Monday!

I know, searching and *finding* the perfect product really IS half the fun. You never know when you’ll come across what you’re looking for.

Green sounds pretty radical, eggplant would (prolly) be a bit more up my alley 😀 But I guess it totally depends on the shade, tho. Have you got your teal mascara yet?

I got wonderful news today. I was invited to a job interview to a local department store. I had applied for a job like in February and received a call today. Totally out of the blue! It’s only a 4-day job (they have a sort of a happening and they need help with packing and such) but in case I would get it it could blossom into something bigger. I’m excited yet nervous since this is my first job interview. 🙂 It’s on Wednesday. EEEKK. :D:D The invitations have been sent and I got a dress and next week going to the hairdresser’s but the only thing’s missing are the shoes, which I’ll hopefully find tomorrow when I’ll go to Helsinki. Will keep you posted!

How has your week started? Good, I hope! 🙂

    Hi Holly,

OMG – SOLD! Question for you though – will it smudge where I want it to smudge? You know I like my smudgy lines.

    Hi Aleks,

Eggplant would be so pretty but not too OTT. It’s a good way to ease into color. I worked like a crazy person today and for part of yesterday (pooh) so I didn’t go to the mall like I wanted to. That teal mascara is soooo mine though.

Congrats on your job interview. That’s great that they called you after so much time – totally good sign. I remember being very nervous for my first one, too. You know what’s always helped me a ton is to prep questions that I thought might be asked during the interview. That way you can really think of ways to sell your skills. Also — warning, this is going to sound totally cheesy — practicing answering the questions out loud in the mirror helps. Seriously! If you need any other tips lemme know. I’ve been working for half my life and have many good and bad interviews, LOL. Anyway, I will keep my fingers crossed for you and will send good interview vibes for you out into the universe on Wednesday!

GIRL! The shoes!!! I can’t wait to hear about them. You know that’s my fave part. 😉

BAHHHH this week is going to be nuts for me. I have a story due soon and I have to get my research/interviews done by the end of this week. Plus, my boss is back from vacation which means the party is over for me at work, sigh. But other than that it’s been okay. I went to dance today which was great for both the body and soul.

Anyhoo, it was good to chat with you! Talk soon, okay?

    Hi Karen,
Yeah it can easily smudge if you make it! It is quite a soft line anyway because its a soft pencil thats what i like about it so much it goes on so smoothly! It is called stylo yeux waterproof, i really hope you can get it over there!!

    Hi Holly,

I checked the US website and saw that it’s online. I’m going to visit my Chanel counter friend and ask him about ’em.

I wish I could visit you at your counter! You could show me all your favorite Chanel products and then promptly take my money, LOL!

    Hi Karen,
Try the brown one out thats the one i always find myself reaching for! But the more dramatic colous are great too i just find that i dont have enough occasions to wear them! I just love how it stays put on my water line all day without fail, its the only one that ever has because my eyes are so watery particularly now its hayfever season!!
I soooo wish you could visit my counter, you would leave without a penny but with bags full of goodies and feeling great 🙂

    Hi Holly,

Thanks for the rec! Yah, I would so leave your counter without a penny… but I’m sure we’d have a lot of fun together.

My eyes watering like crazy, too. I made the mistake of forgetting to put on waterproof mascara today and it was not cute.

    Hope you’re doing well. 🙂
