ChapStick Total Hydration Moisture + Tint Is Giving Me ChapStick Nostalgia

Big kiss!

When I was in elementary school, I wasn’t one of the cool girls. I didn’t have Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers or anything fancy like that. I had a tube of ChapStick, but believe me, for a while, that ChapStick was my most coveted possession in the whole wide world. I loved it to bits because it was as close as I was allowed to get to wearing makeup, and these new $4.99 ChapStick Total Hydration Moisture + Tints kinda make me feel the same way.

I mean, they’re totally different, but eight-year-old me probably would have passed out if I’d been given one of these, feeling like, “Oh, forbidden lipstick!”

There are three shades — Merlot, Coral Blush and Rose Petal — and they’re billed as 100% natural. I see lots of oils and butters in the ingredient list, like sunflower oil and jojoba, and I like that they’re all the way up at the top.

I wear these to work out, which is nothing compared to the glamorous ladies who go to my exercise class. They wear full-on jewelry with a full face of makeup and their hair done. I just put on a little bit of ChapStick, but it’s enough to make me not feel like death warmed over when I see myself in the mirror. 🙂

They’re very similar to Burt’s Bees, so if you like Burt’s, you might like these too.

Even the packaging is pretty cute

The formula feels light on my lips, not sticky at all, and you can kind of move ’em around. Flavor-wise, they taste a little like oranges, but it’s barely noticeable and fades fast.

I mean, they’re ChapStick. It’s not like we’re reinventing the wheel or anything, but if you have fond ChapStick memories like I do, they’re a quick trip down memory lane.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

I can’t understand why people go so overdressed to exercise, come on you’re gonna sweat!

I always take off my makeup to exercise and only sometimes I’d do my brows if I’m exercising in the morning; I’m so worried of my skin getting worse because of the mix of sweat and makeup.

Yeah, me too. Plus I’m always using my shirt to wipe off the sweat and can just imagine rubbing all my makeup into my skin…

The glamorous gals who wear makeup in my class, seriously, I don’t know if they sweat! If they do, they do it glamorously. Me, I look like I just got hosed down, LOL!

What kind of workouts are you doing these days? I’m still doing HIIT (high intensity interval training) and it’s kicking my butt.

Actually I don’t know how to explain my training because I consider them HIITs, but he puts an emphasis on coordination, equilibrium and strength; also the look more like exercises for being part of the soccer team.

I don’t sweat a lot however the first part of my body that starts to sweat is my face so imagine that mix with a full face, I’m going to rent myself to test water-resistant makeup.

I feel your pain my legs and upper body are sore and probably today is going to be core, so I’m just wishing the best.

I never understood why some people wear a full face of makeup for working out. I mean, don´t they sweat?

If they do, they sweat daintily and glamorously. I sweat like crazy; it’s almost embarrassing! I’m working hard in class though…

We always have a bunch of regular lip balms in the house (and all our winter jacket pockets), including a healthy assortment of ChapStick. Of course, I tend to call all basic lip balm ChapStick, sort of like Band-Aids or Kleenex. Ah, the days of branding. HAHA! One of the boys gets really dry lips in the winter and, after an incident where all I had was a Sugar Rose lip balm that made him look like the Joker before we went into the grocery store, I make sure we have untinted lip balm everywhere. HAHA! I think Badger is my favorite, though. They have neat flavors and I find them to be the most moisturizing.

I think I remember that Fresh Lip Balm incident, OMG! I haven’t tried Badger yet. I’ve seen it around so one of these days.

P.S. I have some family members who call all types of soda “Coke.”

HAHA! It was a doozy! He said last night how chapped his lips were getting with the change of the seasons and I was like “it’s funny you say that because I was just talking about that today!” 🙂

That’s funny about the Coke. Another iconic brand!

I am one of ‘those ladies’ who shows up at the gym in makeup and jewelry to work out.. why? because I go straight from work to the gym and I don’t feel safe leaving my jewelry in a locker or my car and taking the time to take off the makeup gives me just enough excuse to forgo the workout and go home. I do however destroy the days hairdo with a ponytail & headband! lol.

I am a lipsgloss girl; and I have numerous lip balms on the go at all times. My standard is Vaseline Lip Therapy in the tube that I stock up on when I go to the USA; currently in love with the EOS Shimmer Balm in Sheer Pink and Neutrogena Night Creme for lips. I will now keep an eye out for the chapstick with tint… can’t hurt to try another..

      Hey Twyla,

I wish I could be a glamorous gym lady because I’m the most unglamorous person in my class, LOL! I can’t wear jewelry because I know I’m going to break it or lose it, and I can’t really wear a lot of makeup (just brows and lip balm) because I sweat like crazy and it would just all run off. Maybe someday… #goals.

What kind of work outs do you do when you go to the gym?

I have so many tubes of Chapstick around the house, in my purse and at work! I love these tinted colors. Thanks for swatching them. I think I’ll have to get all three!

Oh, Karen…that brings back memories of a little girl with cherry Chapstick in her pocket because it was the closest her parents would get to letting her have makeup! I was soooo envious of the little girls who got the Lip Smackers (in Dr. Pepper, Orange Crush and Root Beer flavors, lol). I remember being very excited when they finally allowed me to get Lip Potion in the flavor that tasted like Juicy fruit gum (of course, it was completely clear and sticky as all get out!) So funny…hadn’t thought of that in years…

In high school, I always carry a tube of tinted lipbalm in my pockets, any brand would do. I’ve tried Chapstick, Nivea, etc. It’s also my most coveted possession because I wasn’t allowed to wear lipstick yet. It was my little secret trick to make me instantly cute.Lol! I will definitely search for these new ones from Chapstick. ?

Ooh, these sound nice! Glad they aren’t minty, I don’t like minty lip stuff and find it drying.
