Chanel Rouge Allure Goes Extrait de Gloss

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss in Insolence

Form doesn’t exactly follow function in the Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss line. Half the time I can’t tell the colors apart by looking at the tubes. But I really don’t care, because even the tubes look great. 🙂

Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss Review

Coco (or rather Karl) did sneak in a practical touch (the least they could do for $32 a pop). The paddle-like applicator, which Chanel refers to as flocked, takes precision to the next level. I feel like it provides more control than good ol’ doe-foot applicators.

Launched last fall, the relatively new line of glosses comes in nine shiny shades that, according to the Chanel makeup artist I spoke with, are replacing the Aqualumieres [INSERT SINGLE TEAR ROLLING DOWN CHEEK], which are being — you might want to sit down for this — phased out.

I’ll probably lose sleep over losing the Aqualumieres, especially Candy Glow, but these new kids have game, including a four-hour wear time, and a thick, non-sticky texture (unscented and unflavored). I’ll always love the Aqualumiers, but I think they’re thinner, sheerer, slicker, and don’t last quite as long as these.

Now, I’m a ho for pink glosses like Tabs is a ho for turkey, so I walked away from the counter this week with creamy bubblegum pink Insolence and shimmery golden pink Imaginaire.

Ooh, these are soooooo pretty! And they sound super nice. I’m kind of getting into glosses now and I think these would be a fabulous addition to my collection haha. I kinda really want Imaginaire.

    (Also, love your earrings!)

    Hi Karen,

Me too. I-m a ho too for pink glosses. But it has to have the right texture also.

Wow…love Imaginaire. I wonder what the color looks like on your lips. Must be great. Especiallnya if paired with pearly white or lilac eyeshadow.

Would you take a photo of you weaing Imaginaire? I really like to see the color on lips.

My fav is impertinence. I’m crazy about brown and plummy lip glosses at the moment.

The extrait de gloss to me have the perfect amount of pigmentation that I want from a gloss- not so sheer that the colour fades in 5 minutes, but not so opaque that you lose the lovely transparent quality that you get with a gloss.

Oh, Imaginaire is gorgeous! Probably out of my price range right now for a gloss, but I’ll keep it in mind!

As a random side note, I just bought my first “big girl” lipstick lol, Nars in Dolce Vita, and I’m totally in love 🙂

      Hi Debbie,

That’s one of my favorite NARS lipsticks of all time. Do you have their Amour Blush? It looks fantastic with it.

I have Imaginaire and Confidence (I wish they didn’t make Confidence LE). I absolutely love them both! The texture is amazing. I really hope they expand the color line with these!

Oh No! They’re getting rid of the Aqualumieres! I love those glosses! I haven’t tried these rouge allure ones yet. Can you help me please, which of these is closest to the Aqualumiere in Bon Bon, I have loved this shade since it was a Cristalle gloss!

Thanks Karen for posting so at least I have a chance to stock up if necessary!

      Hi Alison,

I’m thinking maybe Confidence or Insolence would be your best bet…

Funny you should mention stocking up, because when I was at the counter I picked up a back-up tube of Candy Glow!

I love my Aqualumiere in Bon Bon (I’ve loved it since it was a Cristalle gloss!) Do you know if any of these Rouge Allures are close in colour to Bon Bon?

Thanks for posting Karen! At least I may be able to stock up! I always wanted Candy Glow too so I will try to pick that up too before it’s gone!
