OK, so the packaging for CeraVe Moisturizing Cream ($18.99 for a 16-oz. jar) is a bit…clinical, and it isn’t particularly schemxy, which is why, if you aren’t in the know, you might end up passing it by, but let me tell you…this jar is a gem! It’s a drugstore miracle for My Fellow Alligator People because it’s so, so moisturizing.
My skin gets dry and itchy this time of year, and this actually keeps my face and body completely moisturized. I can’t even count how many jars I’ve finished. It’s so good! — even arguably the best moisturizer I’ve ever found for super dry-skinned peeps.
The formula is chock-full of hydrating ceramides and hyaluronic acids — ingredients thirsty skin loves — but I think most of the heavy lifting is based on how the ingredients are delivered. The fine folks at CeraVe found a way to time release the moisturizing power slowly over the course of 24 hours, so your skin is constantly receiving hydration all day (and night) long.
Developed with dermatologists, Moisturizing Cream for Normal to Dry Skin has a unique formula that provides 24-hour hydration and helps restore the protective skin barrier with three essential ceramides (1,3,6-II). The formula also contains hyaluronic acid to help retain skin’s natural moisture.
- With ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II
- Hyaluronic acid to help retain skin’s moisture
- Non-comedogenic
- Fragrance-free, non-irritating formula

The thick, rich cream melts right into my skin the moment it hits it. Plus, it’s unscented, so my current favorite fragrance, Lancôme Idole, remains front and center stage.
I use CeraVe Moisturizing Cream on my knees, elbows, shins, feet, hands and cuticles… Heck, even my friend Jane over at Daly Beauty swears by it as a face moisturizer. I usually get the jar that comes with a pump, but it’s also available with a regular ol’ screw top.
Oh, and if you like to save money (um, who doesn’t?), CeraVe has a coupon right now for $4 off any of their products.
So, yeah, this stuff kicks dry scaly skin’s boo-tay! I have to warn you, though — it just might be a CeraVe gateway product. The Moisturizing Cream opened the doorway for me to several other CeraVe loves, including the Hydrating Facial Cleanser, Renewing SA Cleanser, Skin Renewing Night Cream and Healing Ointment. Half my bathroom is now filled with CeraVe, and I’m not mad about it.
Happy New Year’s Eve!
Our plans tonight involve chillin’ at home, watching movies and eating bread! Yup, I made a brioche in my new bread maker yesterday, and it turned out pretty good — soft and a little sweet, with a slightly yeast-y tang.
It’s delicious!
Even though I still feel like using the bread maker is kinda “cheating,” I don’t even care! I’m really enjoying it. It just makes it so easy to bake simple loaves. Eventually, I’ll probably end up using it to mix dough, which I’ll then shape and finish in my oven, but for now I’m having fun figuring out what it can do.
I hope you and your loved ones have a safe (and hopefully warm!) NYE. See ya soon in 2021! ?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I using the Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser and the Skin Renewing Night Cream. It’s only been about three weeks to a month. So far so good. I will be trying this cream and some of their other products. My face is oily/combination. My body is normal to dry but very dry this time of year.
Karen says
LOVE both of those things, MelodyJ!
Happy new year to you!

Hi Karen,
Happy New Year! You must have read my mind. I was hoping that you would post a skincare recommendation. My hands have been extra dry, it’s usually dry this time of year, but with the constant hand washing, hand sanitizing, it’s wreaking havoc on my skin. I like that it keeps the skin hydrated for 24 hours. Most moisturizers don’t last on me. I will definitely have to pick up the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream the next time I go to the drugstore.

Happy new year, Marcia! I think this would be great for hands. The pump makes it especially useful!

Mmmm, brioche! I love brioche. Slice it thick, an inch or slightly more and make french toast with it! Yum!
Wishing you and the family a brighter, healthier and happier 2021!

How funny you should mention this, because I made french toast brioche this morning and it was delightful!
Hope you and your family had a safe and happy new year. Here’s to all the great things in 2021!

Happy 2021! I have been loving the exact same Cerave Moisturizing Cream and use it on my body and face. I bought mine at Costco. At first, I was a little leery of using it on my face, but was really impressed with how it makes my skin feel. I was so impressed that I have since purchased Cerave Skin Renewing Retinol Serum, Skin Renewing Night Cream and the Hydrating Facial Cleanser. I am loving it all! Target has a great selection of Cerave too.
Your Brioche Bread looks perfect ~ Enjoy a slice for me!

CeraVe changed a lot of their formulas a few years back and they stopped agreeing with my skin. So annoying. I love this stuff as a body cream! The CeraVe Healing Ointment is great for extra dry areas. I’m curious about the new cream to foam cleanser – I find their normal foaming cleanser too drying, but the hydrating causes breakouts for me.
Brioche is so good! I should try to make a brioche sometime – I had really good luck with the Japanese Milk bread I made.

Sounds like a great New Year’s Eve! I’m so glad I don’t have a bread machine because I’d be eating a loaf per day. I hope you’ve been able to find some good GF recipes for El Hub. 🙂
